However, the latter is almost never found on the territory of Russia.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 is powered by a quad-core Marvell PXA1086 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, it has 1.5GB of RAM and a Vivante GC1000 graphics accelerator. In synthetic tests, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 showed poor results, which, however, is not surprising for a budget tablet from Samsung. In our tests, each of which was run several times, the average values \u200b\u200bare given for five iterations. In the Geekbench 3 benchmark, the device showed low results - 1053 points in Multi-Core tests, the Basemark OS II benchmark did not want to evaluate the tablet, which stably "hung" half way. In the browser benchmark SunSpider - 1273 milliseconds, which is long enough, at the level Acer Iconia B1-A71. In the Google Octane v2 browser benchmark, the tablet averaged 1,790 points, even lower than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0.

During everyday use, the tablet can periodically slow down, but, in principle, not so critical, given its price.

The display of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 hasn't undergone any significant changes and remains, in our opinion, as mediocre as it was. The only interesting change is the resolution. It has increased from 1024 × 600 to 1280 × 800, which gives a small increase in pixel density, now there are 216 pixels per inch. All competitors have been producing budget tablets with this resolution for a long time, and now Samsung has finally "pulled up" after them. The screen in our tests performed well on a 7-8-inch tablet. The display supports multi-touch, the touch input is accurate, so you can type texts without any problems. In the sun the information from the display remains more or less readable.
The result for the maximum measured brightness is above average - 418 cd / m2, and the brightness distribution is 86%, average, but the contrast ratio is 556: 1, worse than average. Color reproduction, in our opinion, is poor, and the display's color gamut covers about 70% of the sRGB standard and "lies" a little with colors. The viewing angles caused our complaints: I would like to be wider, but in any case they are better than, for example, on the LG G Pad 7.0. The display of the latter outperforms the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 only with a higher contrast, in other parameters it is slightly inferior.
Battery - 4.8
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0's 4,000mAh battery in our tests performed well above average. The tablet lasted an average of 5 hours 59 minutes. according to three tests in load mode, 19 h 20 min. - at minimum load and 11 hours 3 minutes. - in video viewing mode. The tablet is also slightly smaller than its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0. The Tab 3 and Tab 4 share design cues, but instead of just plain plastic, the Tab 4 has a very durable body that provides a better grip.
In terms of ergonomics, the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 is very comfortable to hold with one hand. You can position it in landscape orientation and take it with both hands, although there is not enough space for the fingers. This is a powerful compromise for a slim frame.
Display
While the resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels remains average, and the density of 216 pixels per inch does not cause delight, the display of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 looks great in practice. A little subjective testing has shown that even small details remain legible. We also didn't notice any visible pixelation, although there is a hint of blurring icons and some images with a lot of fine detail.
In terms of color reproduction, the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 scores well, but not without flaws. The color temperature of the screen (7055 Kelvin) is close to the reference of 6500K, but the colors lag behind - in fact, the colors of the display lack saturation (especially the red). Thus, the display will not impress you, as is the case with the screens of Samsung flagship tablets, however, it is quite good nonetheless.
Back to our hands-on benchmark, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0's 7-inch display we reviewed proved to be quite decent looking if you're not “lucky” to get into direct sunlight. This is exactly the moment when an overly glossy panel becomes a real problem, and the panel's maximum brightness of 374 cd is not enough to solve the problem. Fortunately, the viewing angles of the screen are large enough for you to have a trade off.
Interface and functionality
We have to thank Samsung for its Tablet UI. The first time we've seen an updated interface is with the new Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2. We are confident that Samsung will use the interface with the new line of tablets, as it is simply great. It provides a concise experience that's significantly more friendly than stock Android, but still respects Google's efforts.
We have to point out that Samsung has acted wisely and hasn't tried to turn a tablet designed for simple and easy tasks into something more than it is. So you don't get fancy gesture controls or very heavy and ambitious apps, but don't be discouraged by this approach, you get the quality you pay for. The default apps include: Contacts, My Files, Browser, Email, Music, Video, Voice and others. You can choose which applications to use as standard and which to replace with third-party counterparts.
Processor and memory
Unfortunately, these are important parameters where the new 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 falls short of expectations. In theory, the Tab 4 7.0 has above-average specs - a 4-core Marvell PXA1088 processor and 1.5GB of RAM. In terms of internal storage, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 review only offers 8GB, but in practice, half of it is pre-installed files. In general, everything looks good on paper, but in practice Tab 4 7.0 can be sluggish, and sometimes even not respond to commands at all. It can stutter a little in the menu and application boxes, sometimes the tablet's slowness can be overwhelming and the reason for this is the lack of RAM.
Also, this version of the Samsung interface does not have animated shortcuts, meaning they do nothing when pressed. So, when you use shortcuts to launch apps and the tablet doesn't respond due to its slowness, you also don't get any visible signs that it actually marked your tap. This is sometimes very annoying.
Unfortunately, the test results confirmed subjective observations, Samsung forgot to optimize the tablet, or Tab 4 7.0 is destined to remain synonymous weak tablet... In each of our tests, we found that the tablet was not able to compete with the Nexus 7 (2013) - an older generation tablet with an old chipset (Snapdragon S4 Pro).
The same sluggishness that we observed with the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 in practice was confirmed in synthetic tests, we must admit that we were disappointed with the performance of the Samsung tablet.
Cameras
The 3MP main camera performs better than expected, and the 1.3MP front camera is enough for communication.
Some of you will be pleased with Samsung's dedicated shooting modes included with the tablet. However, the choice is not great, so don't expect anything special.
The 3MP fixed focus camera on the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 is surprisingly good despite its limited options. Of course, the sunny weather played into the hands, but the photographs we took were very satisfactory. The detail is quite bearable for the sensor's size, and the colors remain bright enough. Indoor shots suffer from noise, but the puny 3MP camera still performs better than expected. Meanwhile, the front camera will be useful for video chats.
Conclusion on SamsungGalaxyTab 4 7.0
A review of the tablet showed that with an affordable $ 10,000 price tag, the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 could be a great buy, but its performance leaves a lot to be desired. It would be far too big to suggest that users turn a blind eye to this device, but we fail to promise owners a smooth performance and slick interface on this tablet. It's just not as enjoyable to use as its main competitor: the Nexus 7 (2013). Plus, at just £ 50 more, the Kindle Fire HDX offers much more performance and a high-resolution display, albeit ditching the Google ecosystem, pushing Amazon instead. However, the Tab 4 has an upgrade over last year's Galaxy Tab 3.
