Story

Before 1917

At the same time, there is a change of generations of the teaching staff. The team of teachers was replenished with such famous musicians as A. A. Berlin and M. I. Yampolsky (string department), I. I. Dubovsky (musical theoretical disciplines). An important event in the life of the technical school was the opening in 1925 of the creative (theoretical and composer) department. The initiators were the students of the class of I.I.Dubovsky. Since 1926, for the first time in its history, classes of all wind instruments began to function regularly in the technical school.

In 1934 the conductor-choir department was founded at the school. Talented choirmasters and teachers of the Moscow Conservatory V.P. Mukhin and K. B. Ptitsa began to work on it. In 1939, a school choir was organized: before that, students attended it at the conservatory and underwent conducting practice there.

By the end of the 30s, the school turned into one of the leading methodological centers in the country for primary and secondary education. It was here that the first collection series in the USSR were created curricula for music schools (and years), as well as most programs for children's music schools.

After 1960

College building interior

During the leadership of L. L. Artynova, the material base of the school expanded. It became the owner of another building, rebuilt from a secondary school (1964), a dormitory in the city center, formerly occupied by a conservatory (1969), and a sports complex with a swimming pool (1987). The school installed two organs of the Sauer company (and 1968), renewed the park of musical instruments, equipped a recording room at a modern technical level and organized a broadcasting system for classrooms.

Every year the brass band takes part in state conducting examinations, in the school's reporting concerts in the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory and at other concert venues. Currently, the orchestra is directed by Valery Nikolaevich Korunov.

Chorus

From 1985 to the present, the choir is directed by the Honored Artist of Russia Leonid Pavlov. The repertoire of the choir includes sacred music by composers D. Bortnyansky, P. Tchaikovsky, S. Rachmaninoff, A. Arkhangelsky, P. Chesnokov, Russian and Ukrainian folk songs, works of outstanding contemporary composers - D. Shostakovich, G. Sviridov, R.
