The dagger is short. Detention and confrontation

Many generations of people in childhood read the story of A. N. Rybakov "Dagger" - the first book of the trilogy "Dagger" / "Bronze Bird" / "Shot". All these books are addressed to youth. The genre of action chosen by the writer is quite consistent with this category of readers. The plot of the story is very dynamic, it captures from the very first minutes of reading. The topic of this article is the story we compiled for the above story summary.

Rybakov's "Kortik" immediately after being written in 1948 became a youth hit for many years.

Literary heights conquered to the author of "Kortika"

What was the previous life path Anatoly Naumovich? The writer Rybakov (Aronov) cannot be denied neither courage, nor business acumen, nor human wisdom. At 22, indiscriminately repressed, he was arrested in 1933, allegedly for counter-revolutionary propaganda, and already in 1941, thanks to his energy and dedication, he held the post of head of the Ryazan regional motor transport department. The war went from Moscow to Berlin, becoming a major, head of the car service of the rifle corps. The banal phrase “A talented person is talented in everything” is about Rybakov.

Demobilized in 1946, Anatoly Naumovich immediately decided to create a story. This article is an attempt to present its summary to the reader. Rybakov's "Kortik" (this is the first work of the writer) demonstrated to the general public that a new powerful talent had entered Soviet literature. Even then, it was felt that this talent was up to the top of the human spirit.

Today, the literary talent of the adamant writer Anatoly Rybakov is not disputed by anyone. Forever entered the treasury of world literature his famous tetralogy "Children of the Arbat" and a landmark novel about Jewish origins "Heavy Sand".

Courage of talent

Let's remember one more fact from his biography. Real talent should not be in awe of the mighty of this world. Anatoly Naumovich was convinced of this. While working on "Children of the Arbat" (later published in 52 countries) none other than the loyal author of hymns Sergei Mikhalkov tried to put a spoke in his wheels: "Are you there arguing for Stalin?"

The answer from Anatoly Rybakov was immediate and exhaustive: "After all, Tolstoy is arguing for Napoleon!" This man, who had been repressed, at one time withstood when they tried to destroy him; he did not hide from the front; did not bow his head later - until the end of his days.

And after the war, the front-line soldier decided to write a story about his pre-war childhood, obviously, having previously written a summary of it in a draft. Rybakov's "Dagger" has an absolutely unusual plot and rhythm of an action movie for Soviet literature, which, in fact, served as its popularity among readers and further contributed to the creation of the filmography of the story. After all, Anatoly Naumovich was a creative and energetic person.

Plot tie

The first part of the book introduces us to the atmosphere of the 20s of the last century. It is correct to remind the reader: the story takes place precisely during the civil war, which leaves an imprint on the summary. Rybakov's "Dagger" immediately, from the first scene, introduces us to the main character, the boy Misha Polyakov. This Muscovite (the author of the story is also a Muscovite) temporarily stays with his grandfather and grandmother in the provincial town of Revsk. Misha's father died in the tsarist penal servitude, his mother, who worked from morning until late at night in a textile factory, had a hard time. Her parents took the boy to feed and look after.

Misha Polyakov was an active, lively child. The boy got up early and on the morning with which the story "Dirk" begins. A brief summary (A. Rybakov cannot be blamed for being tedious) will acquaint us with the boy's plan: unnoticed to cut off a flap from the camera, in order to finally make a coveted slingshot for ourselves.

At the same time, by chance, he sees what was not intended for his eyes. And this serves as the plot of the story. It's nice, you see, to feel such dynamism of presentation on the part of the author. At least that's promising. What does Misha see? His grandparents' neighbor, a retired sailor Sergei Ivanovich Polevoy, is trying to hide something in an empty doghouse. This "something" turns out to be a three-sided officer's dagger with a bronze snake around the bone handle.

Field sailor

In fact, even in Revsk, the times were not the most calm: bandits were operating in the district, and White Guards were trying to break through towards the city. The intrigue of the novel "Kortik" acquires new features. A brief summary (A. Rybakova is distinguished by the skill of whipping up the plot) with detective detail will inform us that the leader of the bandits Valery Sigizmundovich Nikitsky owns the scabbard of a dagger and strongly wants to get himself the blade itself.

Obviously, there is some mystery connected to the weapon. In the past, Nikitsky was a naval officer on the same ship with the sailor Sergei Polev, the battleship Empress Maria. He killed the former owner of the dagger, an officer of the same ship. The sailor Polevoy tried to stop the villain, and they fought in a fight. However, this fight took place in a battle environment, and a sudden explosion threw them in different directions, leaving one scabbard, the other a dagger.

Mysterious dagger

Attacking Revsk together with the White Guards, Nikitsky and his bandits are trying to seize the dagger, but he fails. Misha leaves for Moscow with his mother. Field sailor gives him a dagger. The boy hides it in the closet. Before donating, Sergei Ivanovich told him what he knew about the dagger.

Its handle is collapsible; a plate with an engraved cipher is hidden inside. The key to this cipher is obviously on the scabbard. Possession of both blade and scabbard at the same time - necessary conditionto find out. He clearly reveals some kind of secret, as in mysterious stories a closed closed door is opened by a password-recall.

The summary (Rybakov's "Dagger" from this moment becomes even more interesting to read) will now take us to Moscow, to the courtyard on the Arbat. There is an apartment where Misha and his mother live. The dagger blade, hidden by Misha, found shelter in a secluded place in the back of the closet. However, the sailor Sergei Ivanovich Polevoy hinted to the boy that the bandit Nikitsky had an orderly, who also served on the same battleship, by the name of Filin. This was a real thread for further research. The boy remembered that a man with the same surname lived in his house. He questioned his aunt Agrippina Tikhonovna and learned that Filin had indeed come to Moscow from Revsk.

Also, the boy, with the help of cunning, learned about the owl's service in the navy. His son Borka, nicknamed Zhila (he was a huckster since childhood, selling cigarettes and sweets in the market) managed to get interested in an amateur production of a play about "sailor life". He brought a ribbon with the inscription "Empress Maria" for props. Thus, Misha's guesses were substantiated.

A tale of friendship

And the writer certainly managed to portray storylines the main character and his peers: Genk Petrov (the driver's son) and Slava Eldarov (the factory's chief engineer son). These were three comrades - not spilling water.

Nevertheless, a wonderful story was created by the writer Rybakov A. N. - "Kortik". “As I understand what real friendship is” - essays on this topic were once popular in schools. What are we for? Besides, such an essay can be completely written, taking as a basis the friendship of Mishka, Genka and Slavka. After all, the strongest friendship begins precisely from childhood and sweeps through your whole life. Such friendship also connected the writer with his peers from the Arbat courtyard. It is no coincidence that A. Rybakov, in the form of Slavik Eldarov, introduced features of autobiography. After all, Anatoly Naumovich's father, like Slavik's, was the chief engineer at production.

Plot

The story begins in the fictional city of Revsk (the prototype of Revsk, according to the author of the book, was the city of Snovsk) during the Civil War in Russia (1921). The main character, a teenager Misha Polyakov, who came from Moscow for the summer, due to a combination of circumstances, becomes the owner of an 18th century dagger without a scabbard. The former owner of the dagger, a seaman officer, was killed in 1916, a few minutes before the explosion of the battleship Empress Maria. There is some mystery connected to the dagger - an encrypted letter is hidden in its handle. The key to the cipher of the dagger is in the scabbard, and the scabbard is in the possession of the White Guard bandit Nikitsky, who served with the deceased owner of the dagger. Nikitsky is hunting for a dagger.

After a while, Misha leaves for Moscow, where, with his best friends Genka and Slava, they try to unravel the secret of the encrypted letter. Nikitsky also appears in Moscow. The boys arrange for him to be watched, they manage to trick the scabbard to the dagger. Nikitsky's traces lead to an underground counter-revolutionary organization, and the encrypted letter leads to a cache with materials on the legendary "Black Prince" sunk during the Crimean War (as well as on other ships that sank in different seas of the planet with valuable cargo). At the same time, Nikitsky, the leader of the White Guard gang, was exposed and arrested. In the finale of the story, the guys are accepted into the Komsomol.

Notes

An excerpt characterizing the Dirk (story)

Warmed my blood with hope.
Young, pristine and pure
I brought you all my love ...
The star sang songs to me about you,
Day and night, she called me into the distance ...
And on a spring evening, in April,
I led to your window.
I quietly took you by the shoulders
And he said without fading a smile:
“So I was not in vain waiting for this meeting,
My beloved star "...

Mom was completely subdued by dad's poems ... And he wrote a lot of them to her and brought her every day to her work, along with huge, hand-drawn posters (dad drew magnificently), which he unfolded right on her desktop, and on which , among all kinds of painted flowers, there was in big letters it is written: "Annushka, my little star, I love you!" Naturally, what woman could endure this for a long time and not give up? .. They never parted ... Using every free minute to spend it together, as if someone could take it away from them. Together we went to the cinema, to dances (which they both loved very much), walked in the charming Alytus city park, until one day they decided that there was enough dating and that it was time to look at life a little more seriously. They soon got married. But only my father's friend (mother's younger brother) Ionas knew about this, since neither from my mother's side, nor from my father's relatives this union did not cause much enthusiasm ... Mom's parents predicted her rich neighbor-teacher to be her fiancés, whom they really liked and, according to their concept, it was perfect for my mother, and in my father's family at that time there was no time for marriage, since at that time grandfather was hidden in prison as a “noble accomplice” (which, for sure, they tried to “break” the stubbornly resisting dad), and my grandmother went to the hospital from a nervous shock and was very ill. Dad was left with a little brother in his arms and now had to manage the entire household alone, which was very difficult, since the Seryogins at that time lived in a large two-story house (in which I later lived), with a huge old garden around. And, of course, such an economy required good care ...
So three long months passed, and my dad and mom, already married, still went on dates, until mom accidentally went to dad's house one day and found there a very touching picture ... Dad was standing in the kitchen in front of the stove and looking unhappy "Replenished" the hopelessly growing number of pots of semolina porridge, which he was cooking for his little brother at that moment. But for some reason, the "harmful" porridge became more and more, and poor dad could not understand what was happening ... Mom, struggling to hide a smile so as not to offend the hapless "cook", rolling up his sleeves right there began to put in order all this "stagnant domestic mess", starting with completely occupied, "filled with porridge" pots, indignantly hissing stove ... Of course, after such an "accident", my mother could no longer calmly observe such a "heart-piercing" male helplessness, and decided to immediately move into this, while still completely alien and unfamiliar to her, territory ... And although at that time it was not very easy for her either - she worked at the post office (to support herself), and in the evenings she went to preparatory classes for the medical school exams.

Part one. Revsk

Chapters 1-4

That morning Misha Polyakov got up early - he was haunted by the "thought of a slingshot." He imperceptibly "made his way into the closet" and cut out a strip of rubber from Uncle Semyon's old bicycle tube.

Suddenly the boy saw his neighbor, a former sailor Sergei Ivanovich Polevoy. The man went outside and hid something in the doghouse. After waiting for the neighbor to leave, the boy took out from the cache a "steel blade of a dagger" - a naval officer's dagger without a scabbard. Misha put him in his place, "but the thought of a dagger" did not leave him. He did not understand why Polevoy hid him.

That same morning, Uncle Semyon unexpectedly needed his old bicycle. Misha realized that it was time to get out of sight, and fled into the street. He managed to clash with old enemies - the guys from Ogorodnaya Street, stick a knife into the ground with his best friend Genka, wander "through the crowded and loud Ukrainian bazaar." Here he was caught by his grandmother, who took him home to dinner.

To Misha's surprise, no one scolded him at home. The adults were discussing Valery Nikitsky, the leader of a local gang, who was a former white officer.

The next day Misha was punished - a ban on going out. He was terribly bored, but, remembering the dagger, perked up. Improving the moment, he took it out of the cache and examined it carefully. On each of the three edges of the dagger, one image was engraved - a wolf, a scorpion and a lily. Passers-by prevented Misha from putting the dagger in its place, and he was forced to hide it in his sofa.

At the sight of Genka, Misha, unable to withstand the house arrest, fled into the street through the window.

Chapters 5-9

Friends climbed a tree, there was their hut, built of "planks, branches and leaves." From this place Revsk was clearly visible. The boys noticed how "the whites burst into the city" and hurried back home.

Misha witnessed how "a desperate struggle between Polevoy and the bandits" was going on. When the sailor was nevertheless tied up, Nikitsky demanded a dagger from him, but he stubbornly remained silent. During the search Misha managed to quietly get a dagger and hand it over to Polevoy. The sailor broke free and ran away, and a "terrible blow from the revolver handle" fell on the boy.

When he woke up, Misha saw his mother next to him, who had come for him from Moscow. Upon learning of this, he incited Genka to also go to Moscow "in a box under the carriage" - in the capital, in the same house with the Polyakovs, Gena's own aunt, Agrippina Tikhonovna, lived.

Polevoy visited Misha and told him the story of the dagger. A sailor who served on the battleship Empress Maria witnessed how Nikitsky killed his master, officer Vladimir, because of a dagger. Polevoy tried to prevent this, but an explosion thundered on the ship. The sailor had a dagger in his hands, and Nikitsky had a scabbard. After these events, Nikitsky began to look for a sailor in order to select a dagger. Polevoy did not know why he was so important to Nikitsky, but he was not going to return him - "what is good for the enemy, then to our detriment."

Chapters 10-14

The echelon had been at the Nizovka station for the second week already. “There was not enough food,” Mishka and Genka went into the forest to pick mushrooms. They did not have time to return before dark, and were forced to ask for the night to the lineman. In the middle of the night Nikitsky burst in with his gang and demanded to stop the passing train. The patrolman refused, and the bandits began to make out the ways.

The boys rushed to their echelon and warned Polevoy. After the battle, the sailor gave Misha a dagger, revealing his main secret. Inside the handle was the thinnest metal plate with a cipher, and "the key to this cipher is in a scabbard, and Nikitsky has the scabbard." Also, the sailor warned the boy to beware of a resident of Revsk named Filin. Misha remembered that in their Moscow house "Filin also lives in the yard."

Part two. Yard on the Arbat

Chapters 15-19

A year has passed. All this time Misha kept the dagger in the closet and did not tell anyone about it. The boy was tormented by the question - "Who is this Owl, the head of the warehouse, Borkin's father?" ... Only Agrippina Tikhonovna knew about his past, but she did not tell anyone anything. Only once did she mention that Owl was a "trashy person."

Genka was still Misha's best friend. They also became friends with Sasha Eldarov - a pianist, a pale and sickly boy. But with Borka Owl, nicknamed Zhila, the relationship did not work out right away - he turned out to be frankly mean and greedy.

Shura Ogureev or Shurka Bolshoi - "the tallest boy in the yard", a member of the club's drama circle. With his help, the guys decided to organize a children's theater group.

Chapters 20-28

Misha learned from the janitor that “The owl had ordered the passage to the basement,” and immediately suspected that something was wrong. In the basement room where the club was located, Misha found the entrance to the basement, and together with Genka and Slava began to explore it.

In the basement, friends found large wooden boxes. Soon Owl came down there in the company of a tall man, whose voice seemed familiar to Misha. He did not see his face, but decided that it was Nikitsky.

Once, during a quarrel with Borka, Gena said that they knew everything "about the basement and about the boxes." Misha decided to reveal the secret of the dagger to his friends. Genka had no doubts that the code indicated the location of the treasure. The guys decided to hunt down the tall stranger.

Part three. New acquaintances

Chapters 29-33

One day Genka, watching the Owl's warehouse, noticed a tall stranger. He called Mishka, and the guys saw how the stranger entered the philatelic shop, and "left through the back door." Misha noticed how the old philatelist quickly hid an oblong black object with a ring and a ball. Apparently, it was a dagger scabbard.

Chapters 34-41

Misha needed to make sure that Filin was from Revsk. He managed to confirm this information with the help of Agrippina Tikhonovna. Now the guys needed to find out if Owl was a sailor in the past, and if so, whether he served on the battleship.

By that time, the preparation for the upcoming performance of the children's theater group had been completed. The performance was a great success, and after its completion a pioneer squad was organized.

Part four. Detachment number 17

Chapters 42-46

The friends decided to resort to deception to find out if the Owl served in the navy. Misha told Borka that they were going to stage a play "from a sailor's life" and asked him to get something out of a sailor's uniform. In exchange for a knife, Borka brought his father's faded ribbon with the inscription "Empress Maria".

Chapters 47-53

When all doubts about Owl's involvement were dispelled, the guys began to make plans, "how can they get the scabbard." They could no longer enter the philatelic shop - the old salesman knew them all by sight. Only by the end of the summer did they decide what to do next.

After reinforcing billboards with movie theater advertisements on an old cart, the guys set it up in front of the shop every day and watched it under cover. So they realized that the criminals were passing the scabbard from the dagger through Borka. Improving the moment, they carefully pulled the scabbard out of Borkin's bundle.

At home, the friends carefully examined the prey, and noticed how "the scabbard unfolded like a fan." On the inside of them was visible exactly the same cipher as on the dagger.

Part five. Seventh group "B"

Chapters 54-57

School began. During a math lesson, Misha attracted the attention of a teacher, who found on his desk a book about an ancient hand weapon. She immediately reported this to the director of the school - Alexei Ivanovich.

The director showed interest in Misha's hobby. Moreover, he knew that the boy and his friends were interested in ciphers. Misha had no choice but to tell the director the story of the dagger.

Seeing the code, Aleksey Ivanovich immediately determined that it was a littorea - "a cryptography used in ancient Russian literature." The director and Misha worked together to unravel the code. It turned out the phrase "Sim bastard to wind the clock before the noon hand will follow the tower itself, which is turned to be."

Having carefully examined the dagger, Alexey Ivanovich realized that the bronze snake on the handle "is the desired reptile". She had to wind up the watch, which, most likely, belonged to the owner of the dagger - officer Vladimir. To solve the mystery, it was necessary to find his relatives.

Chapters 58-63

With the help of special literature, the guys managed to find out that the dagger belonged to the "regimental armourer who lived during the reign of Anna Ioannovna, that is, in the middle of the eighteenth century." They informed the director and his guest, comrade Sviridov, a man in uniform who confirmed their assumptions.

In turn, Ivan Alekseevich found out the names of all Vladimirov who died in the explosion on the battleship. All data pointed to V.V. Terentyev - "an outstanding engineer of the Russian fleet". It also turned out that he was a descendant of a famous gunsmith, and he could inherit the dagger.

Misha learned that the grandfather of his classmate, Lelia Podvolotskaya, was a professor and admiral. Among his students was Vladimir Terentyev. The guys went to the wife of Professor Podvolotsky, and the old woman remembered the talented student Terentyev. She found old letters, and also added that Valery Nikitsky was the brother of Terentyev's wife.

Part six. House in Pushkin

Chapters 64-71

From the letters, friends learned that the mother of Vladimir Terentyev, Maria Gavrilovna, lived in Pushkino. Near her house Misha noticed a tall stranger. This time he managed to see his face - "it was Nikitsky."

"Misha told comrade Sviridov about his observation," who ordered him not to appear in Pushkino anymore.

Friends began preparations for joining the Komsomol. After the interview, they went to Sviridov, who summoned them to his Petrovka. He said that Nikitsky was detained, but he stubbornly refuses to confess. The investigator asked Misha to take part in a confrontation.

Chapters 72-74

In front of witnesses Misha told about the bandit raid in Revsk and showed a dagger. Terentyeva confirmed that it was her son's dagger. She said that Nikitsky deceived her into trusting her.

Maria Gavrilovna said that all the men in her family were interested in diving, took part in expeditions to raise sunken ships. From generation to generation, the family was given a cipher "indicating the location of the cache" built by the gunsmith Terentyev.

The cache turned out to be a large tower clock, which was opened with a snake from the handle of the dagger. The cache contained papers with the coordinates of the sunken treasure ships.

Nikitsky found out about this family secret, and decided to appropriate the securities.

The found list was transferred to the organization "Sudopolyom", in which Misha's old acquaintance, sailor Polevoy, worked.

In Soviet times, some of the most popular and beloved detective youthful television films were "Dagger", "Bronze Bird" and "The Last Summer of Childhood." They were filmed based on the books of Anatoly Rybakov, an outstanding Russian writer and prose writer. Let us dwell on the story "Dagger", or rather, on its brief content, in order to once again recall the events that those simple Moscow Arbat boys had to go through, who lived in the difficult and troubled post-revolutionary times.

Rybakov. "Dirk". Summary

The first part of the book describes the atmosphere of the 1920s. The main character is an ordinary boy Misha Polyakov, who temporarily moved to the provincial town of Revsk in order to spend some time with his relatives grandparents. His father died, unable to withstand the hard work in the tsarist penal servitude, and his mother worked hard from morning to evening at a textile factory. That is why her parents periodically took the boy Misha to them in order to better look after him.

Summary "Kortika" begins its development from the moment when, one day, going out into the yard in the early morning, Misha Polyakov decided to secretly cut out an elastic band from old uncle Semyon in order to make himself a slingshot, which he had dreamed of for so long. And here, quite by accident, he draws attention to the fact that their neighbor, sailor Sergei Ivanovich Polyakov, very quickly hid something in the old

Plot twist

The boy waited a little while the neighbor left to check his cache and find out what was so valuable he hid there. Mishka put his hand in and felt a soft bundle, unrolling it, he saw a brilliant three-sided officer's dagger, the handle of which was wrapped around a bronze snake. After carefully examining the thing, he hid it back. And here the summary of "Kortik" gets an exciting intrigue.

In those days, bandits of various stripes were operating in Revsk, and at any moment the White Guards could break through. Returning home for dinner, Mishka hears that relatives are talking about some Valery Sigizmundovich Nikitsky, a former retired white officer who led a large gang.

And in the evening Misha met with Polev, who told him about the battleship "Empress Maria", on which he once served. The next day, the restless boy wanted to take a closer look at the hidden dagger. He pulled it out of the hiding place, when suddenly two woodbreakers appeared in the yard, preventing him from putting this cold weapon in place. They began to behave very suspiciously and for some reason were interested in Polev. Misha had to hide the dagger at home, and then he went for a walk around the city with his best friend Genka.

When, after a while, he returned home, he saw how Nikitsky's people twisted Polevoy and began to demand a dagger. The boy quickly realized, he instantly pulled out the dagger he had hidden and handed it over to Polevoy, and he himself threw himself at the feet of one of the bandits, and this saved his neighbor, who managed to escape from his pursuers. The summary of the story "Dirk" is increasingly confusing which the boys will soon have to learn.

Dagger history

In fact, a very interesting and dangerous story was connected with the dagger. On the ship "Empress Maria" Polevoy served with the White Guard Nikitsky. And once he became an unwitting witness to Nikitsky's murder of officer Vladimir, the former owner of the mysterious dagger. Polevoy wanted to detain him, but during the fight, the ship exploded and the scabbard remained with the killer, and the dagger itself was with Polevoy. The summary of the book "Dirk" continues with another unexpected event.

Return to Moscow

As a result, Polevoy gives the dagger to Misha for safekeeping and tells that this precious little thing has some kind of cipher, and that the keys to it are in a sheath. Having taken possession of these two things at the same time, you can open a certain cache. He also reminds that Nikitsky's batman Owl may know the truth about the dagger.

Soon, his mother comes for Misha and takes him back to Moscow. He also encourages Genka to go there, who wanted to go to his aunt Agrippina Tikhonovna. Mishka never for a moment forgot about his secret, and together with Genka they took up own investigation... Soon they found out that Mishkin's neighbor in a Moscow apartment was a warehouse manager named Filin.

Owl

And now the summary of "Kortik" gradually begins to bring the reader closer to the answer. Soon their friend Slavka joined the guys. After asking Aunt Agrippina, who also lived next door, they found out that Owl had indeed once served in the navy. The boys began to follow him and once overheard his conversation with a philatelist from a trade shop. These two were talking about some kind of cipher. The guys also established that the scabbard from the shop to his father should be delivered by the son of Owl Borka. And then they arranged everything so cunningly that they managed to steal a bundle with a scabbard from this poor fellow.

Terentyev

Now the guys only have to solve the mystery. They connected the school director, Alexei Ivanovich, to this business, who guessed the inscription that the dagger was a mechanical key for the winding of some watches. They also learn the name of the former owner, it was a certain Vladimir Terentyev. The guys, continuing their investigation, start looking for his family. Realizing that this is a dangerous business, the director informs his friend from the NKVD Sviridov.

Their joint searches lead to the victim's mother, Maria Gavrilovna Terentyeva, who lived in Pushkino near Moscow. The guys began to watch the house, when they suddenly saw that none other than Nikitsky himself had left her house. Under a false name, he crept into the credibility of the mother of the officer Terentyev killed by him. And here's a summary of "Dirk" comes to the denouement.

Main interchange

The guys immediately notified Sviridov about this, who immediately organized a raid and arrested the bandit, who, after long excuses, surrendered to the authorities during a confrontation with Misha.

Terentyev's mother recognized her son's dagger and pointed to a large antique clock. After several turns of the handle, a cache opened in the watch, in which there were secret papers with exact coordinates on which ancient treasures were transported.

Nikitsky himself was interested in the ship of the Crimean Khan Davlet-Girey with gold, which sank in the Balaklava Bay.

As a result, this list was sent to the organization "Sudopolyom", on which, in fact, Polevoy himself worked. And Mishka, Genka and Slavka were soon solemnly accepted into the Komsomol.

The writer Anatoly Rybakov spun "Kortik" famously. The summary cannot convey the full completeness of the events that took place and their topicality, therefore it is more interesting to read this work in the original.

The topic of this article is the summary we have compiled for the above story.

Rybakov's "Kortik" immediately after being written in 1948 became a youth hit for many years.

Literary heights conquered to the author of "Kortika"

What was the previous life path of Anatoly Naumovich?

At the same time, by chance, he sees something that was not intended for his eyes. And this serves as the plot of the story. It's nice, you see, to feel such dynamism of presentation on the part of the author. At least that's promising. What does Misha see? His grandparents' neighbor, a retired sailor Sergei Ivanovich Polevoy, is trying to hide something in an empty one.

Possession of both a blade and a scabbard at the same time is a prerequisite for recognizing it.

And the writer certainly managed to portray the storylines of the protagonist and his peers: Genk Petrov (the driver's son) and Slava Eldarov (the factory's son).

Our remark

Unlike the story of Anatoly Naumovich, our summary is a story. Rybakov's "Dagger", of course, in more detail, more interesting, describes the plot more broadly. The story contains many episodes that are successful in terms of artistic description, which we have to exclude from the narrative. After all, it should, by definition, be short. In particular, we did not include in this article a description of Revsk and the events in it. In our story, we kept silent about the unique courtyard atmosphere of the Arbat at the beginning of the 20th century and about the cell by three comrades: Mishka, Genka and Slavka. All this can be learned only by studying the full content. "Dagger" Rybakov A. N., a master of artistic words and plotting, wrote selflessly. We are sure that after this story you will want to read both The Bronze Bird and The Shot.

In Moscow. The second and third parts of the story

Let's return to the plot of the first work of A. N. Rybakov. Three comrades managed to track down that Owl in a secluded corner of the basement is storing some heavy boxes that look like coffins. Here, in the basement of his former orderly, the leader of the gang, Valery Sigizmundovich Nikitsky, once followed. They both then went to a philatelic store. There, the old man, his master, kept the scabbard from the dagger. Their complex design was described by Anatoly Rybakov. A brief retelling (the work in the original describes the assembly in more detail) of what is said in the story about the scabbard can be represented as follows: a rigid connection of fan-shaped folding plates (folded - the surface of the scabbard), a ring that holds them together, and a ball that fixes the pointed part.

The boys managed to look at the assembly process carried out by the owner of the philatelic shop. To do this, they placed a fake advertising stand right in front of the window of his store (by fixing posters on both sides of the wheelbarrow, and placing an observer in the middle). With her help, they saw and heard how one day the Owl, going to the owner of the shop, discussed with him for a long time some complicated mysterious code.

Mastering the scabbard

The guys found that the scabbard was transferred by the owner of the shop to Filin and vice versa through Borka Filin (the son of a former orderly).

In the fourth part of the story, the boys have matured a plan of how to take possession of the scabbard, playing on the greed of the young huckster - Borka. While he was carrying a scabbard from the owner of the store to his father, the guys offered him to buy a wheelbarrow at a bargain price. While they were bargaining, their accomplice, a former homeless guy who possessed thieves' skills acquired in the past, quietly stole the scabbard from Borka and then handed it over to the boys.

Fifth part. Failed brainstorming and sudden help

The guys started reading books about ciphers, but things did not go well ... A summary of Rybakov's story "Kortik" will now explain to us the further logic of their search. It happened by chance that the director of the school, Alexei Ivanovich, found out about the dagger. The teacher brought the boys, who had been guilty of reading a book about ciphers in class, to him. Alexey Ivanovich, possessing systemic knowledge, deciphered the inscription on the blade and scabbard. It said that the handle of the snake blade served as a mechanical key for some kind of watch that had to be wound. The director realized that the matter was taking a serious turn, so he brought the boys together with a “man from Petrovka,” that is, an NKVD investigator, comrade Sviridov. The director also discovered in the directory on information about the battleship "Empress Maria" that the name of the deceased officer, the owner of the dagger, was Terentyev.

How did the guys look for the Terentyev family? A brief summary of the story "Dirk" will tell us about this further. A.N. Rybakov gives a fascinating account of the guys' further investigation. They built a version, suggesting that the deceased officer was familiar with the family of Admiral Podvolotsky, whose granddaughter studied in Misha's class. The guess was confirmed. The admiral's widow opened the box with letters, where letters from the correspondence with Terentyev were found. She also told the boys that Nikolsky was the officer Terentyev killed by him, his brother-in-law (brother of his wife). As it follows from the addresses in the letters, the Terentyev family lived in Pushkino.

Sixth part. Disclosure of the circumstances of the crime

Let us continue to present a brief summary of the "Dirk" (Rybakov) by chapters, adhering to their order. The guys arrived in Pushkino, where they found the house where the mother of the deceased officer, Maria Gavrilovna Terentyeva, lived. However, to their surprise, none other than Mr. Nikolsky came out of his door. The situation took on a dangerous turn, because a further search threatened them with a collision with an insidious bandit. Misha reported the incident to comrade Sviridov. He advised the boys not to go to Pushkino anymore.

Detention and confrontation

The detained leader of the bandits, denying the charges brought against him, claimed that he was a completely different person, the suspect's namesake - Sergey Ivanovich Nikolsky. However, the bandit was opposed by a solid evidence base gathered by the efforts of the boys, which Nikolsky did not suspect. A brief summary of the story "Kortik" tells us about the decisive role in this case of confrontation. Rybakov A. N. describes how the investigator Sviridov organized it. When confronted by Misha Polyakov and Nikitsky the main character the story told about the raid of Valery Sigismundovich's gang on Revsk and presented the investigation with a dagger. Maria Gavrilovna Terentyeva recognized her son's weapon, testifying that Nikitsky had deceived himself into her house, calling himself a false name.

Revelation

A mysterious clock was found in the house of Maria Gavrilovna. They were old, tower-like. The handle of the snake dagger fits perfectly into the watch groove. After turning it, a cache opened in the clock. There was a document that Nikitsky was trying to reach: the exact coordinates of the treasures sunk on the lost ships. Among them is the flagship of the Sultan of Crimea, Devlet-Girey, to whose treasures the criminal sought to get.

Output

So you have learned the summary. Rybakov's "Dagger" skilfully composed and laid out a dynamic plot in chapters, in the first part it completely captures the reader's attention and does not let him go until the very end of the reading - until the sixth part of the story. Potential and depth were felt in the concept of the work, which influenced its continuation with the subsequent stories "Bronze Bird" and "Shot".
