When we are going on vacation, we are trying to calculate all possible scenarios for the development of events. The situation becomes more complicated when you want to leave for another country. It is even worse in this regard, when the proposed resting place is radically different from our homeland in terms of climatic conditions. In this regard, Montenegro is lucky: it does not differ much in climate from the CIS countries.

It's good when only adults go to the resort. Somehow you shouldn't worry too much. Well, what can happen to an adult so special? And if you take your beloved child with you? How to arrange 10 days of rest, so that you feel good yourself and your baby likes it? Where to relax in Montenegro so that it would be great for a little traveler?

When is the best time to relax in Montenegro with a child?

As you know, in Montenegro, you can take sunbathing already from mid - end of May and almost until the end of October... However, at the very beginning and end of the beach season, the sea will not be very comfortable for children. Yes and
the weather also changes too often: now the sun, then suddenly a cloud - and the wind, and maybe even rain will begin.

In the midst of the high tourist season ( mid-July - August) is also not the best option to relax with a baby: the air heats up to critical temperatures for the baby (from +30 degrees and above), the people on the beaches cannot breathe, and because of this, the sea off the coast is not the cleanest.

Therefore, it is better to rest in Montenegro with small children in June month or in september... When warm temperatures are already steadily high (but not critical), the water is warm, and vacationers have not yet filled every corner of the resort towns.
Moreover, if you choose between July or September, then better to come in Montenegro in September: after a hot summer, the sea is very warm, there are not so many people on the beaches, and prices are much lower than those that were in summer.

Some features of beach recreation with children in Montenegro.

  • Due to the geographical feature of the location of Montenegro, the beach line here is rather narrow and not very convenient for families with small children. Because the beaches here are narrow pebble, even rocky in places. The sand on the Black Sea beaches is brought by the owners of the hotels for the period of the beach season.

Real sandy beaches can only be found closer to the southern part of the Montenegrin coast. There the entrance to the water is shallower, and the water warms up more.

The entrance to the water is most often steep with rocky intersperses in the water. Which creates a lot of inconvenience for baby bathing. For example, the baby will have to go into the water in special shoes, designed specifically for such purposes. Also, the little tomboy will have to be carefully monitored so that he does not sail far from the coast - to a depth that is recruited very quickly on the beaches of this country.

  • The water temperature in Montenegro during the peak season barely reaches +25 degrees - a little child can swim in such water a little. As an option, of course, you can swim in the pool, but it makes sense to go so far so that later you can only swim in the pool.

As a result, be prepared for the fact that you will have to go to different entertaining children's establishments often and in many places.

  • It is believed that the sun in Montenegro is aggressive for small vacationers. Consider this moment when you start planning your trip to this country. In the early days, try to be on the beach when the sun is not the most active (in the morning - before 10:00 and in the evening - after 16:00). The total amount of time in the open sun for a child in the first days of rest should not exceed 15 - 20 minutes.
  • Since the country is still different and the climate is also different, the child may begin acclimatization: slight weakness, possibly indigestion or even fever. But after a few days, all symptoms disappear and the baby's condition returns to normal. In this regard, consult with your family doctor in advance about how it is easier to transfer children's acclimatization. And in "your" hotel, specify where the first-aid post is.

Where is the best place to relax with a child in Montenegro?

In order to compile a list of the best children's resorts, you need to identify the criteria by which you can make a selection:

  • Climate - how mild and clean the climate is in the region where the resort in question is located.
  • Beaches - cleanliness, sandy or pebble, the well-being of the beach itself, gentle descent into the water.
  • The entertainment complex of the resort itself and its infrastructure.
  • Are there any hotels in the considered resort, focused on holidays with them.

St. Stephen's Island.

Ideally, the island is dedicated to a quiet and measured holiday. The resort infrastructure is well developed. The place itself is replete with interesting sights. St. Stephen's beaches are some of the best in the country: coarse-grained reddish sand, gentle descent into the water. True, during the peak season there is no turn around here due to the large number of people.

Holidays on the island of Sveti Stefan are considered the most expensive among other resorts in Montenegro. Suitable for families with children under three years old. Older children will be bored here.

Holidays for children in Budva

This is the most popular resort in Montenegro. It is equally pleasant here to sunbathe on a sandy beach (there are several of them, at different distances from the city center), to go to local cafes or excursions and just have fun. By the way, the nightlife in Budva is quite active and therefore it will be noisy for couples with small children (especially during the peak season).

In peak season, the beaches of Budva are filled to capacity, as a result - the beaches and the sea are dirty. If this option does not suit you, then you can drive up to the beaches with the kids. Mogren (this beach has received awards more than once) and Ploce, or choose Becici, Rafailovici or Sveti Stefan for relaxation.

On the territory of the resort, you can choose a variety of accommodation options, ranging from luxurious hotels to budget private housing.

Becici.

This resort is designed for children of different ages. The hotels provide babysitting services, there is a children's menu, the restaurants of the hotels have highchairs.

On the one hand, if you choose a hotel as close to the sea as possible, then (of course) it's not far to go there and you won't have to wander in the sun for a long time with your baby. On the other hand, all resort entertainment is concentrated near the beaches and therefore it will be noisy even late at night. The most convenient option for couples with children, according to experienced tourists, will be hotels "Mediteran" 4 *, Hotel Park, "Slovenska beach" and "Alexander".

Becici beach, sandy with a gentle slope into the water, belongs to the Budva Riviera.

Rafailovichi.

The resort is located next to the Becici resort. There is an airport nearby. Almost all hotels in the resort are located close to the sea. The beach line of the resort is mostly pebbly, but the water here is very clean. With a baby, it is better to choose a place away from the central beach - it will be cleaner there.

For older children, it will certainly be interesting to visit the local water park and for adults there is entertainment in Rafailovici. But if
to compare Rafailovici with the Becici resort, the latter will still be more fun.

The resort is suitable for children from 1 year old to about 6 years old. If the child is older, then he will be bored here.

Ulcinj.

Parents with toddlers or those children who are just starting to learn to swim come to rest in this resort (it is better to do this on Mala Beach). In Ulcinj and in the vicinity there are many sandy beaches with a very gentle entrance to the water.

A distinctive feature of the beaches of Ulcinj is that the sand is curative, and sea water has a high mineralization.

Due to the geographical features of the location of the resort (the southernmost, next to the border with Albania), the coastal waters of Ulcinj warm up early. Children can swim in early June.

Better for families with children
choose apartments or boarding houses located closer to the city center and closer to the water. Because the resort is located on a rather steep slope of the mountain and it will not be convenient to go down and up every day.

Montenegro has long established itself as a country convenient for families with children. Here the climate is milder, there is no such sweltering heat as in or. There are many beaches on which little feet will be pleased to run. The atmosphere of the Montenegrin resorts is mostly calm and accommodated. The locals are very fond of babies and, whenever possible, create the most comfortable conditions for them.

Where is the best place to go to Montenegro with a child in 2019? Which resort to choose?

Many Montenegrin cities are suitable for families with children, but each has its own characteristics - somewhere it is too noisy, somewhere there is no convenient entrance to the sea for kids, somewhere there is little entertainment and infrastructure is not developed.

We have selected 4 resorts in Montenegro, which receive the best reviews from tourists with children, and gave a brief description of them.

Budva

Budva is the most popular holiday resort in Montenegro in 2019. The explanation is simple: you can get from Tivat airport to Budva in 20 minutes, and in the city itself, guests will find a developed infrastructure, entertainment for every taste, picturesque beaches and a lot of attractions that can be visited.

Usually there are no difficulties with the language barrier, many residents speak Russian. However, Budva should be preferred for holidays in Montenegro if you are traveling with older children - the resort is quite noisy and crowded.

What to see with children in Budva:

  • amusement park;
  • aquapark;
  • mini-park with dinosaurs Dino Secrets;
  • many playgrounds.

Petrovac

Not far from Budva (only 17 km), there is a calm and cozy town of Petrovac. There is a picturesque area, comfortable beaches, clean air with the smell of pine trees, olive groves.

Petrovac's beaches are covered with small pebbles and reddish sand. The entrance to the sea is great for children.

But be careful! On many beaches of Petrovac, the depth begins in five meters.

In Petrovac there is no such amount of entertainment as in Budva, but everyone will definitely find something for themselves:

  • walks along the wide promenade with small attractions for children;
  • boat trips and safari;
  • water entertainment;
  • visiting the ancient Venetian fortress of Castello.

Saint Stephen

The now expensive fashionable resort was once a military fort. Nowadays, expensive hotel complexes can please families with children with excellent service and the cleanest beach with pinkish pebbles.

Sveti Stefan has a cozy atmosphere, quiet and calm, there are no crowds of people and noise. For entertainment you will have to travel to nearby resorts.

What you can do in St. Stephen with your child:

  • a walk along the promenade;
  • visit a couple Milocer;
  • relax on a small playground on the waterfront.

Becici

One of the best resorts in Montenegro for families with children in 2019: proximity to the airport (13 km), privacy, silence.

Luxurious beaches with golden sand and small pebbles have been awarded the Blue Flag (international award for environmentally friendly beaches). The place where you can swim safely is separated by buoys.

The shore is cleaned regularly. It is equipped with everything you need: toilets, showers, changing rooms, cafes, sports grounds.

In Becici, children will definitely not get bored. What entertainment is there in this resort of Montenegro for a child:

  • aquapark;
  • children attractions;
  • excursion to the Skadar lake.

Alexandra

September. Family with children

Montenegro

We traveled to Montenegro with our four-year-old daughter in our own car. Most of all we liked in Plavi Horizons, it is near the Tivat-Kotor junction. The beach there is wonderful, velvet sand, very shallow, great for children. The beach is located in a lagoon that protects it from the winds, there were practically no waves. The only thing is that at the height of the season there is no place for an apple to fall on the beach, but on the good beaches of the country it is the same everywhere. The resort is surrounded by pine forest, the air is unusually clean and fragrant. We stayed in an apartment. Of the amenities for the baby was a cot and a high chair. We prepared food both on our own and ate in restaurants. I can say that the local cuisine is suitable for children. Delicious cheeses and meat dishes, and the trout stuffed with prunes and donuts will just lick your fingers. There was no entertainment for the children nearby, but this also has its own plus, the daughter bought as much as possible in the sea.

August. Family with children

Montenegro

The trip to Montenegro was planned independently. We rested in mid-August with the whole family: us, children and two granddaughters. There were no unnecessary problems with acclimatization, it was not hot during the day, it was fresh in the evenings. We stayed in Becici-Rafailovici for several reasons.
Firstly, the beach is very long and wide. We lay right on the towels, as renting sun loungers was expensive. Secondly, there is a lot of entertainment for children: inflatable trampolines, playgrounds, attractions, a water park. In the evening there is also where to walk, we visited the beautiful Milocer Park.
Thirdly, there is a large selection of self-catering apartments, you can buy groceries in stores and cook food for the kids yourself. I will not say that it is cheaper than eating in a cafe, but healthier. The stores sold baby food in jars, it tasted different from ours, the granddaughter liked it. The vacation was a success, the main thing is that the immunity has been strengthened.

August. Family with children

Montenegro

Rest in Montenegro was carefully planned, because we were going on the road with two children: seven years old and one year old. So, we rested in the village of Radovichi, which is located in the suburbs of Tivat. Booked the apartment on their own. I recommend choosing accommodation close to the beach. The beach itself is sandy, very good for children. Despite the fact that we rested in July, the sea water was sometimes cool. On the beach, we rented two sun loungers and an umbrella, the set cost ten euros.
There is no baby food we are used to in stores, it is better to take it with you for babies. Also bring a blender. Older children are not a problem with what to feed. The eldest son really liked the lamb baked with potatoes, but they serve some kind of rubber bread. The fruits were bought at the market in Tivat. A new water park has also opened there, although not all of the attractions have been completed yet. There are extreme slides, they were afraid to let the child go alone, skated with my husband, complete delight.

August 25, 2016 15:09 Tivat, Ulcinj, Cetinje, Perast, Radovici, Budva - Montenegro 2016 July

We visited Montenegro in July 2016 for the first time, as a family, with two children 1 and 7 years old. We went on our own for 20 days. Since I myself have been looking for detailed information about how it is with a baby in Montenegro for a long time, I am writing my own review, with an emphasis on the peculiarities of traveling with children, especially with a one-year-old baby. My husband and I have traveled to many countries on our own, and a trip with a one-year-old and not yet walking child was the first "pancake" for us :-) So, everything is in order. Motto: You need to tune in for the best, but be sure to be ready for anything.

1) Flight. Aeroflot tickets were bought for miles, six months before departure. By the way, good suggestion by miles finally determined the choice of the country. We live in Perm, so the flight was through Moscow (2 hours + waiting in Moscow +3 hours). We were worried about how the child would survive the flight. During the flight, the kid sat on my lap almost all the time. Sometimes I slept. And when he was awake, he played with cars, seat belts, watched a magazine, ate, made faces behind those sitting and tried to pull the hair of those sitting in front. Sometimes we got up, and the baby spun around on the seat as he wanted, got up and sat down and got up again. I realized that the main thing is that my mother is there. The presence of a dad and a brother, of course, was also pleasing. He was calm, he felt safe, and this determined a calm mood. Although, of course, sometimes he was a little capricious, not without it. It is important not to worry your parents. Some worry that the child interferes with the shouting of other passengers, and begin to get angry with the child, which makes the child even more capricious. A child has the same right to travel as an adult. A good person thinks not only of himself and will treat children's screams with understanding, but a bad person is not worth being nervous for his sake and scolding an innocent baby. We drove to the gangway with a stroller, then quickly folded it up, wrapped it in cellophane and handed it over. Upon arrival, upon leaving the gangway, they immediately gave us a stroller. Very comfortably. They took water with them on the flight (they do not take away if they fly with a child), his favorite loaf, cans of meat and vegetables, biscuits, and ready-made porridge in an empty can of baby food. Spoons - from Baskin Robins, pink, very convenient on the road, because each is packed in cellophane. We also ordered food for babies from Aeroflot in advance, I liked it too, there was also baby food in cans, Gerber.

2) Housing. Booked an apartment through booking. We lived in a 3 * apartment in the village. Radovichi, near Tivat. And here there are already many features that we would not even have paid attention to when traveling together. The territory is needed. We didn't have one, there was no shadow, and when we stayed at home, there was nowhere to go for a walk. Escaped from the heat on the playground - under the hill. By the way, the presence of a playground is very desirable. And if the child is still crawling, then it is important to understand where and in what he will crawl. Our, for example, after the playground was up to his ears in mud, wiped his pants on his knees almost to the holes. Next, the apartments themselves. If this is a budget 3 *, like ours, then you need to be prepared for the fact that it will not matter to clean the room, you will have to wash the dishes by hand, and it can also be hot, stuffy, and generally not comfortable. We chose the apartment based on reviews on the Internet, the rating was "excellent", very high. But in reality it turned out to be far from the case. Therefore, it would be better to enlist feedback from friends and carefully study all the details. I really need a highchair. We were given it only on the 3rd day, unfortunately, and I had already forgotten how uncomfortable it is without a chair. If the floor is tiled, then it is usually cold and not always clean, so you need to be prepared for the child to crawl on it, and there are no options. For example, we walked in (hotel) slippers. As for a separate crib, I don’t know about the others, but I didn’t even try to order it. And there was so little space in the bedroom that the crib would not have fit. We slept with the baby together, although at home he sleeps in his crib. The kid woke up at night for the first time, looked around (everything terrible and unfamiliar), cried. Then I got used to it. A crib is useful for older children, maybe from 2 years old, at least when the age is more conscious and independent.

3) Nutrition. You need to take baby food or some familiar homemade food with you! Nestlé has never seen our porridge anywhere. We took it with us (we took it out of the boxes and signed the inner packages with a marker). They sell meat and vegetables in cans, but in some strange compounds. Mostly with carrots. My baby didn't like it very much. And vacation is not the time to experiment. So acclimatization, stress. And even if a child gets sick, then it is generally not recommended to try new things. In addition, if you go somewhere by car, then it is very convenient to take a couple of cans with you. You can, of course, cook. But in our village, meat and fish were not sold, and then, after a few days, we drove to the city in a rental car, bought meat there, cooked soup for the kid. By the way, blender! I took it with me, while my baby can't chew meat. Now about eating from an adult table in a restaurant. Can. But my boy didn't eat everything. For example, he really liked baked lamb with potatoes, but it was a song, not a dish. In Lovcen, where we were for one day. And so he practically did not eat from the table. And their bread is a little rubbery or something ... Mine generally loves bread very much, but this bread he chewed - chewed, then threw it away. In addition, you will have to adjust your order for the child. And if I want an octopus salad with vinegar and grilled squid with french fries? .. Then you won't give the child anything. In general, there is a risk that the child will not eat enough and will be moody. Therefore, banks / ready-made porridge, taken with them to the restaurant, helped us a lot.

Go ahead. Fruit. I bought apples from the Voli store. The child has such an itchy allergy! And the older one, at the age of 7, is the same! What kind of apples are they, where are they from? Even in Russia in winter we didn't have such a thing for apples. Of course, it's better to buy in the market. But there was no market in our village! A car came with vegetables and fruits, but the choice there was very limited. Then we bought apples in the city of Tivat at the market, everything is ok. In general, if you live in a village, be prepared for the fact that there may not be not only normal baby food, but even elementary meat, fish and good fruits. Water. We bought water and boiled it. A lot of water is required, of course. But we sold water at the nearest store a kilometer away. Therefore, my husband walked alone in the heat, dragged 5-liter bottles, then bought water for several days in a rental car. The four of us consumed 7-10 liters of drinking water a day. I have not specifically canceled breastfeeding in order to support the baby's immunity. Well, calm down on the plane, for example (it came in handy once). And yet, about cooking in the apartment - it's a thankless job on vacation, especially with children ...

4) Clothes, shoes and diapers. They took jackets, a hat for the baby, warm socks in vain, they did not come in handy. Thin pants came in handy once, and a thin blouse with a hood - 2 times (in Lovcen and in a restaurant by the sea, when there was a thunderstorm with the wind). The most popular clothes for a baby are thin short shorts and T-shirts, a thin panama hat. And on the plane, a jumpsuit with long sleeves and legs, but also quite thin. Clothes and footwear were not sold in our village. In the cities I looked at children's clothes, but everything seemed expensive and boring to me, I never bought anything. Our baby does not walk yet, and we did not take shoes, and we did the right thing. Such heat, even in shoes - a mockery. Our kid was barefoot all the time: both to the beach and on road trips. Only at home, on the tiled floor, they put on socks, and in playgrounds, so that the legs would not be rubbed. Diapers. Pampers in Montenegro are everywhere except panties. We just use this brand, so there were no problems. They say Japanese diapers are not available or difficult to find. The eldest son - all the time in T-shirts and knitted light shorts, everything else is hot. Rubber slippers to the beach are needed. Hotel slippers home - we, adults, and the eldest son also needed it.

5) Beach and sea. Our beach was 15-20 minutes walk from the apartment. On the sidewalk along the highway, in the heat, with a stroller. Tiring! Better if the beach is nearby. It would be ideal to go home for a quiet hour from 12 to 15 o'clock, but how can you imagine going home uphill in the sun for 20 minutes with a stroller! Therefore, sometimes they stayed for the whole day on the beach away from home. The baby's sleep, of course, was not so long on the beach, because it was noisy and hot. Accordingly, since the dream was not successful, then the mood could deteriorate further. If we get lucky. Therefore, it would be better to have a closer beach. But in Montenegro, I know, this is not very good, you have to look. We had a sandy beach, Plavi Horizonti. Good, a lot has been written about him on the Internet. The people, of course ... Hundreds of people.

We bought daily rental of 2 sun loungers and an umbrella for 10 euros, after 17.00 free of charge. Then the husband watched the elder, and I followed the younger. Then they changed. It is good that the eldest child was taken with arm ruffles for bathing. I was surprised that children in Montenegro swim without arm ruffles. Either you need to follow without taking your eyes off or swim constantly with your child. Anyway. So, junior: he liked everything at first. As soon as they came, I immediately got off the lounger and stuffed some sand butt into my mouth. Then we went to the sea, he sat there, played with beach toys, ate sand. He put sand straight into his mouth, chewed and swallowed. And there is nothing to be done. Then, already at home, excuse me, cocoa them. Our bathing was not very long, because the sea was not always warm. Although we rested in July, sometimes the sea was icy. And when the sea is warm, they swam on my arms. I didn’t want to be in a circle and on an inflatable boat. For the baby, I took a jumpsuit and separately shorts with a T-shirt - bathing, with UV protection 50. I bought it from Next. And I'm very happy. The kid did not burn an inch. Not overheated, nothing. Although, of course, I have not seen such dressed children. Mostly naked or in shorts. I don't understand how you can be naked in the sun. Even if you smear it. Or how much sunscreen you need then! And then how much sand to pick out from all places. It took us 20 days for a baby 1 full tube with UV protection 50 from clinic firm, for a senior - a full tube with protection 30 and a little with protection 50.

1

Also, what I noticed on the beach: there are very few children under one year old. Literally count on one hand. Mostly children aged 3-7 years. In general, on the shore, I have not seen a single crawling like mine, already all are walking. So, apparently, for a reason. It's hard with the little ones. Well, what am I all about children, I must also about ourselves. Well, yes, my husband and I never managed to swim together, only one by one. Or lie on my lounger with my eyes closed. My husband only once slept for half an hour, while I and 2 children built castles on the sand)) Once for all the time. This is me about the fact that you will not be able to relax on the beach. All the while thinking about children and their safety. And even a step away from a small one.

6) Road trips. We visited several places with children: Perast, Kotor, Lovcen, Budva, Ulcinj, Cetinje, Tivat, a water park, drove along the Lustitsa peninsula. I must say right away that we ordered a car rental in advance, at booked apartments... First, for 4 days, and then, a week later, for another 5 days. And they instructed us to be given 2 car seats. As a result, there was a full-fledged car seat for the baby, and a booster for the older one. It suited us. Car - Ford Fiesta, manual transmission, my husband was pleased. The air conditioner in the car is very necessary. Window blinds for children would have been handy, but we got by, we didn't have. Sometimes the kid was capricious when the sun shone in his face. About motion sickness in the car. Thank God we avoided this. The kid is still at such an age when the rocking is habitual and lulls him to sleep. And the elder miraculously held on, only once he got seasick, on the way to Cetinje. In general, the eldest son behaved normally, rode calmly and almost did not moan on the road) I was also worried that while sleeping in the car, the children’s heads fell and dangled. I studied this issue in advance and found that there is a special helmet, it costs about 3 thousand rubles (but it is from 2 or 3 years old and is not suitable for a booster), there is also a pillow for a car seat like an airplane. But we sewed a thin cushion with an elastic band (similar to a sleep mask) that clings to the chair and fixes the head in the forehead area. It came in handy a couple of times, for the younger one. And the elder did not sleep in the car this year, he has matured a lot. A year ago, this pillow - holder would have been relevant for a senior as well. I'll tell you about the places to visit in descending order of interest, from the point of view of both adults and children.

7) So, I give the first place to Lovcen. Nice, fresh, not hot.

But we went there at the end of the vacation, when my husband got used to the car and practiced on not difficult serpentines. because beautiful road Kotor - Lovcen is a one-way serpentine road high up the mountain. This means one lane, on which only one car can go. If there is an oncoming lane, then you need to pull over to the side of the road and try to disperse. A very difficult and exciting road. Perhaps the two of us would only catch the adrenaline, as usual, but knowing that we have two children with us. The younger also howled, so it was not easy for her husband to drive))

We drove slowly and for a long time. Stopped a couple of times to take breathtaking views and relax. We got to dinner. After gorgeous dishes with baked lamb (in a hotel restaurant near the rope park), we went to the rope park and arranged a party for the elder. There are 3 tracks for children under 7 years old, interesting, beautiful, not scary. I tried it myself for the first time, great!

The kid was with dad at that time, watched us and asked for handles, then in a stroller, was a little capricious, in general, dad was not bored. Time flew by quickly. On the way back we stopped in the village of Njegushi, bought prosciutto (it turned out to be excellent!) And goat cheese home. The kid slept all the way back. The air in the mountains is gorgeous! Cool, lots of trees in the park, nice to walk. It's a pity there was little time, it was so good there! We did not go to Njegosh's mausoleum, because, firstly, there was no time, and secondly, it would take a long time to climb 400 steps there, we would have worn out with the baby. Naturally, without the baby we would have gone. And there is also a cave, too, did not have time. The elder would have liked it.

8) Second place - Cetinje. The former capital of Montenegro, oddly enough, is located high in the mountains. Also serpentine, but it is considered less dangerous, maybe less steep and wider. But they drive there faster. I was surprised, but unexpectedly I really liked the city! The center reminded me of Guatemala, Antigua. Only the volcano is not enough) There are few people, there are many cafes, prices are reasonable for everything, including souvenirs and shopping. We walked around the city, sat in a restaurant, entered the Monastery with a shrine - the right hand of John the Baptist. Very nice, calm, good.

The kid, however, behaved badly in the restaurant: he climbed on the table, roared, bent over, and this was not the first time. We are already desperate to sit quietly in restaurants. We ordered quickly, then I or my husband went for a walk with the baby, until the first courses. Then they quickly ate in turn, supporting the child so that he would not fall out of the stroller while jumping. High chairs are not available everywhere in restaurants. And more often they began to order food with them in order to eat at home.

9) Third place - Lustica peninsula. We just drove along the road closest to the sea. Also mountain roads, but there are few cars, no one flies. I didn't expect very beautiful, unusually fabulous landscapes either. Stopped to eat and take a walk. The distances are short, and we rode like this on different roads for 2 days. These are easy trips, we warmed up on them, rested, my husband got used to the car.

10) The water park was not included in the top three, because after it the eldest child, me and my husband, fell ill the next day. So, it's good that the water park was intuitively also left at the end of the vacation. The water park is new, opened in July 2016, literally shortly before our arrival. It has not been completed yet, but 3 steps are in operation: the lower one with a children's aqua complex, the middle step with more complicated slides and the upper step with adult slides as well.

The eldest child was glowing with happiness! I started with a children's complex: chic, of course, for children. The only thing is that the water is cool, and there is a lot of it, pouring from all sides, pouring over. I think the elder was overcooled there. Then he went to the more difficult slides, where children of his height are allowed alone, although the slides are large. But there are many guards, the security system works, and that's good. One rescuer launches children from the top of the slide, the other looks down at the bottom, they talk over the radio. I have never seen so many personnel in water parks, so I was not afraid to let the child go alone, I rode myself. On one of the straight hills - a pipe - I hit my head. It seems not strong, but unpleasant, and did not skate there anymore. Well, we climbed higher together with the elder on difficult slides. The one on which you have to ride on a mattress, on your stomach, head first, just otpaaad! Scary, I caught my breath, cool. And children are allowed! Cool slide. Then the slides from which you have to go down in circles are great too! And several adult slides. On one of them - on a steep straight line - my husband hurt himself badly, for two weeks now his back has been hurting. In general, we had a good time. Well, what about the kid? They took turns with him. One of us rolled him in a wheelchair around the water park, walked with him by the handle through the area where there is a shadow. And the baby himself walked - he rolled the stroller. Climbed up the stairs, under supervision. Played with an empty bottle. He ate and slept. Although the music, of course, rumbles, the sound of water, but an hour still slept. Was in his bathing suit with UV protection. But they didn’t let him into the water, they were afraid that they would catch some kind of infection, there were still a lot of people. Moreover, there are no queues for the slides, and the pools are full of people. As a result, the next day everyone fell ill, except the baby. My husband hurt his back, and my eldest son and I have a runny nose, cough.

11) Ulcinj. The city closest to Albania. I really wanted to hear and see a little east :-) We drove for a long time, but the road is straight. On the way, we stopped at the Bakery, had a bite to eat with local pastries. The old town in Ulcinj is interesting, but very small, we walked around it in half an hour. It is important that the old uneven pavement and the abundance of steps in the old city make it impossible for a baby carriage to pass. And here we used an ergonomic backpack. The husband carried the child on his back in an ergonomic backpack, and I was dragging an empty stroller.

I don’t know how others wear it, but after such a walk the baby had to change into dry clothes, as he was all damp and sweating. The husband did not get any pleasure either. The kid sat quietly only when the husband walked. At each stop, he began to whimper. In general, during the entire vacation, the ergonomic backpack came in handy only once - here, for half an hour. I think we shouldn't have bought it. By the way, the local population looked with surprise at the baby in the ergonomic backpack, and some even pointed their fingers. Apparently, such baby carriers are rare for them. We had lunch here, in a restaurant overlooking the sea. Well fed. In general, there are few people here, there are many restaurants. It is a pity that we did not have time to walk along the streets of a modern city, it was very tempting there (from the car window). Without the children, we would definitely go out, but the children were already tired, and there was a lot of time. Would I go to Ulcinj knowing what awaits me? With children - no. Well, or if there is absolutely nothing to do. Too far, it is inconvenient to walk around the old city, the city itself is small, and an ordinary city is designed primarily for adult tourists. Without children - yes, it's interesting to take a walk :-)

12) Kotor. I am sure that Old city as beautiful as they write. But with a baby in a stroller, it's hard to understand. If I carry a stroller, then I look most of all at the child, at the feet, I slightly look after the elder (but he is in the responsibility of the husband) and a little to the sides)) There are a lot of people, the heat. Souvenir offers - at every turn, there are many shops. But we had no time for shopping. Just stop to take a look - "ahhh" from the stroller. That's how we quickly - quickly walked around the old town and sat down in one of the cafes. Fortunately, the child soon fell asleep (a rare coincidence - a cafe and a baby's dream))), and I let my husband and eldest son go to the fortress. And while she was sitting, she waited in the cafe. After about an hour, they returned very happy))

13) Tivat. We saw the port of Montenegro and walked along the embankment. To be honest, I was expecting something more. She kept walking and thinking: has the vaunted embankment already begun or not? And so we reached the end. Somehow deserted and boring. We found a submarine museum and a playground in the form of a ship. We stayed at the playground for 40 minutes, but again it was hot, and nothing special. The kid crawled all over, erased another sandpiper on his knees almost to the holes. We returned to the parking lot through the park - it was a pleasant road.

14) Perast. This was our very first destination :-) Initially, we went to Kotor, but decided to drive a little further - to Perast, and have lunch there on the seashore, and not in the old crowded city of Kotor. And then return to Kotor. That was the plan)) Indeed, in Perast there are many pleasant restaurants on the shore, in one of them we took turns eating, as usual. One ate, the second made circles with a stroller along the embankment, then changed. Then we got on a motor boat and sailed to the nearest island with a small church. The kid did not get much pleasure from the boat, maybe he was a little confused and scared. And the rest of us liked it, well, for the sake of variety, you can. We did not have time to return to Kotor, because the baby was tired. In general, such an easy trip, good for a start.

15) Well, Budva. Probably worse than the embankment, I have not seen anywhere else. Hustle, cafes and shops on top of each other, the beach ... Well, I would rather not swim at all than on such a beach. There is nothing to do with children. We went to the children's attractions, as if I were in the 90s.

At that time, amusement parks arrived in our city with dilapidated carousels. So it's the same here. As if these rides were found in a trash heap and washed. In short, I consider a trip to Budva the most useless.

16) First aid kit. Almost all the time - 2 weeks out of 3, our one-year-old baby was sick. But these 2 weeks we, of course, did not sit at home. He did not fall ill immediately, but on the 5th day after his arrival in Montenegro. A runny nose began, then a temperature of 38. We had insurance Sberbank - insurance. I phoned the insurance company in the morning, in the afternoon a doctor came from the nearest city of Tivat, because there are no polyclinics in our village and, by the way, there are no pharmacies (!). The doctor does not speak Russian, so the owner of the apartment had to answer the phone so that she could explain to him how to get there. In general, with these conversations a thousand rubles on the phone was gone. In the future, we corresponded on the vibe with both the doctor and the insurance company. No insurance claims, they worked clearly. So the doctor came: a young, tall man. The kid was terribly frightened of him and the whole reception roared. It was impossible to even listen to the child, as he said. As a result, I wrote out a prescription for an antibiotic, which should be taken if the temperature lasts 3 days, and saline (electrolyte - in Serbian) in the nose. He explained himself in Serbian, sometimes a little in English. Well, basically, we get it. After 3 days, the child's temperature passed. These difficult 2 days we went to the sea in turns, while the baby was at home, took a little drive in the car on the 3rd day, when he felt better. And then the runny nose tripled, coughing began. Again the doctor. He found teething, and we cheered up, deciding that teeth were the cause of everything. For some reason, the doctor prescribed Erius (anti-allergenic), and that's it. But the cough got worse every day. And I gave the child a special massage 2-3 times a day (in olive oil, what was) to cough up, cause a cough with a spatula, rinse the child's nose, suck out snot, drip drops, and all these half-hour procedures under a wild op. I don't know what the neighbors thought of us, but it was impossible to calm us down. At the end of the vacation, the baby began to recover. By the way, all these days we went to the sea, but I didn't bathe the baby, I just dipped it, washed it with sea water, and on the shore he breathed the sea air. And we also drove by car, did not sit at home. Probably, this is even better, the baby was distracted and did not focus on his illness. And we also tried to think about good things and encouraged each other and the baby too. After all, it was an infection, moreover, a bacterial one, which can be seen by the greenery, and after hypothermia in the water park, it passed on to me and the eldest son (he was also very sick, with some kind of terrible cough), we both were sick for 2 weeks. And later, after the vacation, her husband fell ill with it, went on sick leave. This is how we "improved" in Montenegro)) Would I go on this trip, knowing what awaits us? Yes, I would. Because in general, the impression of the country and the rest was good, and we could get sick at home. Of course, I would not have been able to cope with even one baby alone, even morally. And with two children - definitely not to cope with one, you don't even need to try. Because this is not a 5 * hotel in Turkey with a territory and a beach on the first line. These are apartments, a remote public beach, a rental car, traveling around the country, and this dictates its own terms, or rather, adds worries. Definitely, if you go, then only with a second adult. And the important thing is that we had everything we needed with us, which made life easier for us and caring for a child. I'll tell you a little about this.

17) What would be nice to take with you.

* Comfortable, lightweight stroller - a cane. We bought an inexpensive stroller "Mishutka" with double wheels before the vacation, which coped well. One wheel fell off at the end of the vacation, but we glued it on. The roads in Montenegro are tough: gravel, uneven sidewalks, pavements ...

* The foldable pot is a great thing! How many were in Montenegro, I did not find where the pots are sold there. Probably, there are in the cities, but not in the villages.

* Oversleeves for swimming for an older child, well, very comfortable and safe.

* Sunscreens for children with UV protection from 50 and 30 favorite companies, because in Montenegro the choice is very limited, or you have to look for shops in big cities. But if the company is not important, then no problem to buy.

* First aid kit: for fever, allergies, etc. More is better than less. (Pharmacies are not available in all villages.) A sniffer was very useful. Thermometer.

* Baby food, nibbler, blender

* Swimwear for baby with UV protection

* Pack or roll of polyethylene bags of ordinary: very useful! For all sorts of little things, fruits, clothes and more.

* Cloths in a roll are also very convenient, to wipe the baby after eating and throw it away

* Gifts (souvenirs) to the country. I always take - to treat the children, to give to the owners, to thank for something, or just like that, as a keepsake.

* A new toy for the kid on the plane to play.

Here is such a slightly confused, but interesting journey we have succeeded. Probably, if the baby was the first child, I would be all nervous, and the trip would not seem like a vacation to me. Meeting expectations and experience is the key to peace of mind. Is traveling useful for a one-year-old baby? From the point of view of physical health - I think not, because almost all the time the baby was sick. Maybe in terms of development it was useful: I saw, heard, felt, learned a lot. We would have left the child better at home and would you go without him? Yes, perhaps, if they took the baby grandmothers - grandfathers)) And yet - if there is an opportunity, then there is no need to save on housing. Better with small children to take a proven good all-inclusive accommodation or close to it, and there is a good beach nearby, better sandy. And of course, it is better to go for at least 3 weeks in order to survive the acclimatization and have time to rest. Thank you for reading to the end :-) I hope my experience is useful to you. I wish everyone a great stay!
