Pandas in macau. What and how to see in Macau. From Park Guia

Macau. Pandas. February 12th, 2018

The journey continues! After Hong Kong we move to Macau. And immediately to the pandas. It is very simple to find from - on all maps from the house is indicated as the Big Panda Pavilion. It is located in the south of the island of Koloan, or rather, united with Taipa Kotai, in the countryside, practically, where there are beaches, resorts and mountain temples. Formally, it is called the Macau Zoo, but it is difficult to call it a zoo, from other animals there are only the red panda, monkeys and parrots. Not much.

- The pandas have just woken up and are therefore hungry. You came on time, ”the attendant at the entrance to the pavilion told us looking at the animals with undisguised admiration. In fact, the whole life of the pandas in the Pavilion - it's just huge - is built on a schedule: 15 minutes of sleep, 45 minutes of food. In the Pavilion there are three pandas, a bear with cubs.

The lazy life that they lead here on everything ready is somewhat surprising. In fact, they turned into pets here and moving into the wild is contraindicated for them. It cannot be called a cage either, it is a real palace, a whole world the size of a small stadium. But in the wild, the animal is forced to get food on its own, to fight for survival, this trains and hardens it. How it was decided here, I do not know.

If you have noticed, pandas are very different from other bears in that they eat like a person, grabbing bamboo leaves with their palm, like a hand. The hand, not the paw, which the pandas have, formed separately from the rest of the bears when they switched to plant-based foods. A sixth finger appeared, a false finger, separated from the rest, like a person's thumb. With them, they can grab the handles of leaves and eat them, holding them in a fist.

In principle, we did not see anything new, but you can look at pandas almost endlessly, wondering at the very fact of these creatures. Unless, of course, they are sleeping. To get here, as I already wrote, is millet, if you understand the bus schedule. Unfortunately, there is no metro in Macau, it is only being built - lines and monorail supports are laid everywhere. And many people are reluctant to figure out the algorithms for the movement of buses. Therefore, there are frankly few visitors, although it was a day off. Accordingly, the price here is an order of magnitude cheaper than in Hong Kong - 10 patacas, or Hong Kong dollars. This is a penny.

And on the way out, you will definitely be shown the poop of pandas. Probably everyone is interested to know how they poop.

Macau is not only a casino. This amazing city has many interesting sights. If you are traveling with children, be sure to check out the Macau Giant Panda Pavilion located on Coloane Island.

Actually Seac Pai V an Park is a whole zoo. There are aviaries with deer, monkeys, lemurs, flamingos.

But the main stars of the park, for which everyone comes here, are the Kai-Kai pandas ( Kai Kai) and Xin Xin.

In the summer of 2016, a joyous event happened in Macau. Two more baby pandas were born, who were given the names Jiang-Jiang ( Jian Jian and Kang Kang.

The complex is designed in such a way that the features of the natural landscape are organically inscribed in it. It includes two covered enclosures of 330 sq. m each and an open yard of 600 sq. m. For the convenience of observing animals, there are two paths at different heights.

When visiting the Pavilion Big panda it should be borne in mind that these animals sleep a lot, so the likelihood of finding them awake is higher in the first half of the day.

Just now we paid a friendly visit to glorious China. Today I will tell you, dear readers, about a small zoo in the city of Macau, a former Portuguese colony.

The Macau City Zoo is quite small, with multi-storey buildings approaching it. Nevertheless, its territory is very well-groomed and attracts not only tourists.

For example, it's full of butterflies.

Of course, I am not a very big expert on fauna (or rather, not an expert at all), but I have never seen such large specimens in open spaces before.

Aviaries begin a little further. The barnacle crested gibbon looks at you, and thinks about something of his own ...

The main and main feature of the zoo is a pavilion with giant pandas. Paid entrance.

We witnessed an epic showdown between two young individuals:

If you look at such pictures, you may get an opinion about some kind of real bickering or even a fight. In fact, such a "fur war" does not cause anything but rzhaki. Here, see for yourself:

Pandas are incredibly lazy. They are too lazy to sleep, too lazy to eat, too lazy to multiply. In order for them not to die out, people help them literally in everything. Newborn cubs are similar to rats, they are fed from a pipette and kept in a pressure chamber. When we arrived, this panda was asleep, sometimes glancing lazily at the audience:

An hour has passed…

The diet of pandas is monotonous - they eat tops. In large quantities.

And these are kakakhi pandins, with a structure of pressed particle boards. It seems logical on the one hand, but rather unexpectedly, on the other.

And this is the red panda. The size of a fox, and the tail is like a lemur, striped.

It turns out that all this time someone was watching us

Pink flamiiiiiiiinggoooo, child of zakaaaaaaaataaaaa

That's all for now. We brought a lot of observations and pictures from Hong Kong and Macau, I will show you a little later. Thank you for your attention!

The Center for Children and Youth Tourism is recruiting children in sport sections for sports tourism, rock climbing, orienteering.

P Before I write a post on a flight from Macau to the Philippines,
I want to write about those places that we planned to visit, but did not work for various reasons. The post will be useful to those who are going to go there. I'll start with the pandas. Macau Giant Panda Pavilio ... it's interesting, it's even sacred ... but it doesn't work every day.

Before Macau Giant Panda Pavilion it takes long enough to get there. It is advisable to focus on this particular object when planning time, since the fortress and temples in Macau itself are close and you can see them at any time.
With pandas, we missed because in those days that we were, they simply did not work or worked on a shortened, shortened day. The disadvantage is that you can walk there for a long time, but you will never see the pandas. If they sleep hiding, they will Lost time and money, no one will wake them up for the sake of tourists. The Chinese are happy if they just turned over on the other side and this is a whole event.

You can watch pink flamingos, black swans, lemurs and monkeys for free, but no one would go far in all this. Please note that change is not available on the bus. Therefore, it is necessary to collect a trifle in advance. But pandas in China
it's sacred ...

The Macau Science Museum houses a life-size model of the Chinese space station Shenzhou-5. The first manned flight of this spacecraft made China in 2003 the third country in the world to independently send a man into space.

Next to the pandas is temple complex Kun-Iam

It was built 400 years ago in honor of the goddess of mercy. Around the central statue of Kun-Iam is a whole group of monuments dedicated to the sages of China, among which, surprisingly, there is a monument to Marco Polo. It was in this place in 1844 that China and the United States signed an agreement on cooperation and trade.

Of the minuses - it's a long way to get there and besides the paid bus, you need a lot of feet - 40 minutes through the forest along the path up the hill. But then the place is not worn out by tourists (due to the complexity and legs). It makes sense to visit it with the pandas, because they are close. We didn’t go here because we didn’t go to the pandas))))) and in Macau there is a temple complex that is 200 years older than that and we don’t need to climb the hill (it was important because my leg hurt).

Fisherman's Wharf Macau ... located near the Sands casino.

This is the place where the stylization of the classic European fishing shipyard was created. This complex is located in an idyllic corner of Outer Harbor, overlooking the marina. An extensive complex on the territory of which you can immediately visit Holland, Germany, France, Israel (see Golgotha), Babylon, see the Colosseum (more Verona than Roman), in the Forbidden City in Beijing ...

We did not see all this, because it was closed for some incomprehensible planned or not very much repair.

One listing of nearby objects (buildings, squares, structures were built almost in full size) speaks of how curious and unusual it is when you are from the Dutch quarter, find yourself in German, then Italian, French,

Golden Tower))))

Formula Grand Prix Museum 1 in Macau was opened on December 11, 1993 during the fortieth race.

The museum displays photos, articles, awards and other items related to the most famous competitions in the world of motorsport. The most attractive part of the museum is the 20 racing cars. One of the most valuable exhibits is the car and costume of the famous racer Aerton Senna. In Macau, he won the 1983 Grand Prix.

The first tournament of the Grand Prix series was held in Macau in 1954. Since then, it has been held more than fifty times. Every November, hundreds of Formula 1 fans gather for the Macau race.

In a special hall of the museum, a projector displays slides about events in motor sports. There are also two replica racing cars with electric motors installed on them.
A good museum, small, just a treasure for children, and besides, it's free. There is an opportunity to drive a simulator for money. We did not go here, because there were no Formula One fans among us and nobody was interested in it.

Wine Museum The area of 1400 square meters is divided into a number of sections, where, among other things, maps, texts, photos, films and videos related to the history of winemaking are presented.

The aim of each section is not only to provide information about wine and the vine, but also to recreate the atmosphere of wine making, to show visitors the modern and traditional gadgets and devices involved in wine production.

One of the main goals of this museum is to familiarize visitors with the social, economic and cultural significance of wine in the Portuguese tradition, Everyday life and holiday rituals.
On the territory of the museum there are 1143 different wine brands (1115 Portuguese and 28 Chinese). Of the 1,115 Portuguese wine brands, 756 are commercial varieties, and 359 are special collectible varieties, the oldest of which is port wine from 1815, these brands cover different regions of Portugal, and also represent samples of winemaking from the People's Republic of China. The demonstration of each sample is accompanied by a short description.
The museum also has a number of mannequins wearing a variety of local outfits from different regions of Portugal. We did not go here, because we drank without drying out anyway ...
Address: Rua Luis Gonzaga Gomes 431, ground floor (Tourism Center - CAT).
Opening hours: 10:00 to 21:00. Closed on Tuesday.

Five years and $ 250 million was spent on creation and production "Houses of Dancing Water", the most spectacular extravaganza in the world, which can be seen at City of Dreams in Macau.
The House of Dancing Water show was created especially for the City of Dreams by one of the world's most famous stage directors, Franco Dragone, whose spectacular shows were attended by over 65 million viewers in dozens of countries.
Shows do not run on Tuesday and Wednesday, the rest of the week 2 times a day at 17 and 20 hours, 1.5 hours. Prices depending on the location from 5000 and higher on our hard-earned money. We decided that we would manage)))) tea is not the Bolshoi Theater to pay such a loot, but there is already a lot of water around)))

There is also the Mandarin House, the Moorish barracks, a lighthouse, a high-mountain fortress, etc. but this is all already in Macau. And if you wish, instead of a casino, you can see these objects. Macau map will help you)) I don't even know if there are beaches here, but there is sand under your feet, so there should be.

Once a year, a procession passes through the streets of Macau to drive out the "drunken dragon": people sprinkle strong Chinese vodka from their mouths - it is believed that its vapors drive the spirit of an evil dragon out of the city.

Over a ton of charcoal-grilled Portuguese sardines are eaten in street stalls and stalls during the Portuguese feast of St. John, and over a million liters of the famous Portuguese beer Super Bock are drunk.

And other tips. Three days are enough to explore Macau. One day at the pandas and surroundings, casino evening. Second day for the old town, TV tower and casino. The third day a fortress, a Ferris wheel, etc.

From the casino, I advise you to look at Galaxy and the mermaids and, of course, Venice, no matter how - the largest casino in the world.

Use the free buses. They run between casinos that are marked on tourist maps, which is convenient. In the oldest temple in Macau, the A-Mo temple is allowed only until 18.00.
Hotels are expensive, especially on weekends. The price of a meal in a cafe can vary greatly. Two eateries nearby can have a price spread of almost two times. Take adapters for outlets. They are triple here, Chinese. In Hong Kong, there are two types of Chinese with different distance between the plugs. In the Philippines, for example, there were European sockets in hotels, but not here. The Chinese come here to play more often than the Europeans to relax, because Macau in China is the only gambling zone where casinos are allowed.
