How to make a broken touchscreen. What to do if laptop screen is broken.

I dropped and broke my phone screen today. You can fix it, but it takes time and a lot of money. I'm afraid to tell my parents, they are very strict and will swear and beat. In despair, I do not know what to do. I don't even want to live.

Expectations:

It will help, calm down, tell you what to do.

Hello Sasha!

Not a shattered phone screen, or anything else worth suicidal thoughts. I'm sure your parents think the same. Despite their severity, they certainly love you, otherwise they would not have given you an expensive phone.

I recommend you pull yourself together and admit that your phone screen is broken. Tell them about your feelings that you are very worried about your wrongdoing and would like to somehow make amends for your guilt. Perhaps when the holidays come, you can get a job and pay to repair the screen. Let your parents regard this as your debt that you will someday pay. You will not always be a teenager, in 5-7 years you will already have an education and earn money.

A calm, good atmosphere in a family is dearer than any fashionable phones. Take care of yourself and your nerves.

What to do if the touchscreen or display is cracked on your smartphone or tablet?

To begin with, I will explain some details, each device has in common people - a screen, this is the part on which you see visual images and can control the device by physically pressing your fingers or a stylus on the screen.

Let's take a brief look at what a screen is and what it consists of.

To be more precise, it is not called a screen at all, as the common people like to call it, but a display module. Why - a module? You may ask, because the word itself - a module, means a part consisting of several separate parts glued or pressed together to form a display module.

You need to understand and distinguish what a touchscreen is, and what a display is, they are not the same thing.

As we have already discussed above, the touchscreen and display are combined into one spare part called a display module. The full name is a display module, the module itself is assembled at the manufacturer's factory by special machines and combines:

1) The display is exactly the part that brings the image to your gaze and does not respond to pressing, the purpose of the display is solely to display the image.

2) The touchscreen is the part that is located above the display, reacts to touch and is solely responsible for entering information into the device.

Together, the display and the touchscreen combine a kind of sandwich, i.e. display module.

How to determine what exactly is faulty in the display module touchscreen or display?

The touchscreen is broken after a fall or any other mechanical impact.

First, inspect the entire display module. If the touchscreen (glass) has cracks, but at the same time the image is transmitted clearly, there are no streaks, stripes, lines, artifacts, smudges or dead pixels, then the display is intact. You will only have to change the touchscreen without a display, which is much cheaper than replacing the display module as a whole, but we do not recommend this method since it is artisanal, we will describe below for what reason.

The display is broken after a fall or any other mechanical impact.

First, inspect the entire display module. As a rule, damage to the display responsible for displaying the image without damaging the touchscreen (glass) is impossible. As we have already said, the display module forms a kind of sandwich where the touchscreen stands above the display, then surely after a strong mechanical impact, the force of impact or pinching has damaged not only the touchscreen, but also the display.
If you find that the image is displayed incorrectly, has and has streaks, stripes, lines, artifacts, smudges or broken pixels, then this is a clear sign of damage to the display and the entire display module will have to be changed, which in principle we recommend even though the display intact, but the touchscreen is broken.

A handicraft method to independently replace the touchscreen on the display module in the absence of professional equipment.

There are devices where it is impossible to replace the touchscreen separately from the display. at the manufacturing plant, they are strongly glued to each other under vacuum on the machine and form a single spare part called a module. Of course, there are countless video tutorials on the Internet on how to independently separate the touchscreen from the display by heating with a hairdryer. Craftsmen heat the display module around the entire perimeter with a jet of hot air, thereby melting the hermetic glue on which the already broken touchscreen is planted.

But I hasten to notice right away that this is a handicraft method and it has many disadvantages. Most often, after heating, the broken touchscreen does not go away immediately, you have to literally tear off the very fragments, pieces of the broken touchscreen (glass) like puzzles with tweezers or a clerical knife. When separating the fragments of the wheelbarrow from the display, there is a great risk that the display itself will be damaged, broken pixels, micro-scratches appear, and after the new wheelbarrow is glued, there are angular glare and halos from pinching and uneven gluing.

Sometimes after gluing under the touchscreen, clearly distinguishable fingerprints, hairs that have fallen from the head during repairs and inevitably collecting dust are found. the tightness of the gluing is no longer one hundred percent. In the future, you will definitely expect the touchscreen to peel off at the corners of the module due to manual work and the lack of a uniform press with a table of required pressure around the entire perimeter, the lack of necessary equipment such as a pressure drying chamber for drying glue, and most likely you will feel complete disappointment.

Of course, if you have even hands, and you do everything as it should, at the initial stage the work may look flawless, everything is clean and as if only from the store.
But all the above-described disadvantages and problems are inevitable and will begin to manifest themselves after two or three days due to the elementary temperature drop from room to street.

If, after all, you decide to replace the touchscreen yourself with a handicraft method, a couple of tips on how to do it right.

Purchase of a new touchscreen for plywood.

Before buying a new touchscreen, you need to accurately determine the part number of the part. The part number is a unique part number assigned by the manufacturer.
A touchscreen or display, and any spare part in your device, in principle, has its own unique number, which is determined by a set of letters and numbers and looks something like this: HY01160I
By its appearance, the spare part sold may look identical, but there may be significant differences, you will not find it with the naked eye, but if the cable coming from the touchscreen to the board is located at least 2/5 millimeters to the right or left, or it is bent slightly wrong then such a spare part will simply not sit on the device.

How to determine the part number of a part?

Basically, P / N is located on the back of the touchscreen itself in the form of an engraving or sticker, and in order to identify it, the device needs to be disassembled and the touchscreen or what is left of it. An unprofessional disassembly of the device can lead to irreversible actions, you can tear the loop without knowing which side to start bending the case from, etc. Of course, if you have a disassembly manual and even hands, but it is better to trust the specialists. If you did everything right, then this is not all you need to cook.

You need to prepare:

1) Touchscreen for your model - be sure to consider the part number (P / N)
2) Glue or double-sided tape (superglue, pva, glue won't work)
3) A set of screwdrivers for mobile devices, a spatula for separating fragments of a touchscreen.
4) Acetone
5) Clean rag

Step 1

First you need to disassemble your smartphone. Disassembly for each brand of smartphone is slightly different, so I will not describe the disassembly process itself. When your phone is disassembled, take the screen and heat it up with a building hair dryer. This is necessary to soften the glue with which the touchscreen is attached to the screen.

Step - 2

After the glue has softened, take a regular thread and, stretching it between the touchscreen and the screen, remove the touchscreen. After that, you need to wet the napkin with acetone and remove the remaining glue from the screen. Peel off the adhesive carefully so as not to damage the fragile screen.

Step - 3

Prepare double-sided tape. To do this, cut it into small strips of small width (3-5 mm). Then wipe the screen dry, remove dust from it and cover its rim with strips of double-sided tape. Cut off any excess tape.

Next, take a new touchscreen, wipe it from dust and carefully glue it to the screen on double-sided tape. If everything went smoothly, you can assemble the phone in reverse order by first connecting the touchscreen connector to the main board of the smartphone.

Disadvantages of self-replacement of the touchscreen or display with a handicraft method.

1) Lack of knowledge on the correct disassembly of the device
2) Lack of engineering expertise on mobile devices
3) Lack of professional equipment
4) Time spent on determining the part number and searching for a spare part
5) Purchase of a spare part without a guarantee for its further performance
6) Non-return of spare parts if you made a mistake in the part number and in case of its marriage
7) Lack of spare parts in the Russian Federation and its order from abroad, waiting, the risk of losing the parcel and marriage
8) Complete lack of guarantees
9) Cash costs for finding spare parts, glue and consumables
10) Complete disappointment with the artisanal, quick, but not high-quality method of self-replacement.

Do you need it?

Here's my advice to you, change the entire display module right away, even if you just have a broken touchscreen. There is no need to strain and waste your precious time, nerves and money on useless low-quality, artisanal methods of re-gluing. Of course, I understand that the Russian people will find a cheap and easy way out of the situation even in hunger and cold, but does it always bring the expected result?

The screen is one of the most expensive parts of a laptop. Therefore, if the laptop fell to the floor, someone sat down on it or just hit it, then with a high degree of probability the matrix of such a device will be covered with cobwebs (cracks), and a logical question arises - what to do ?!

The simplest answer is to throw out the broken laptop and buy a new one instead. However, on the Internet we are all millionaires, while in real life we count every penny, so in this material we will consider possible options for action.

Let's start with a preface. Laptops are different: with a screen diagonal from 11 to 17 inches, with glossy and matte matrices, with or without a touch surface. Accordingly, the price of the issue can seriously fluctuate: if the usual most common glossy 15.6 "matrix can be purchased from $ 50, then a 13-inch touchscreen will cost at least twice as much. You should also take into account the cost of replacement work - and this is from $ 10, depending on complexity ( some laptops can be disassembled in minutes, others require complete disassembly).

If you are faced with broken screen laptop, you need to immediately decide what to do:

  1. Sell a laptop entirely for spare parts
  2. Sell a laptop piece by piece yourself
  3. Replace die at service center
  4. Replace the matrix yourself

The first option is to sell the entire broken laptop through an ad. So it will turn out to bail out a small amount, but the sale as a whole saves time significantly. Suitable in situations where the laptop is old and it makes no sense to replace the screen - it is more rational to add a little and buy a new laptop.

The second option is similar to the first, but if you have free time, you can try to sell the laptop yourself in parts. This process will take a lot of time, so it is worth assessing in advance whether you are ready to communicate with dozens of not always adequate buyers.

The most civilized option is to take a laptop with a broken matrix to service center or an ordinary workshop. Experts will disassemble the laptop, order the required matrix, install and assemble it back. At the same time, they can perform other work, for example, cleaning from dust, replacing thermal paste, etc. The only disadvantage of this option may be the final price: in advance, find out in the service center the cost of the replacement work, as well as the price of the matrix.

If your hands are not hooks, but you communicate with equipment and electronics on YOU, then all the work to restore the screen can be done. You need to disassemble the laptop, buy a similar matrix and put everything back together. Here are some helpful tips.

  • If you do not know how to disassemble a laptop, you can search for videos on the Internet. There are a lot of them, especially for popular laptop models.
  • To save money, you can buy a used matrix for disassembly or in online stores.
  • You can search for exactly the same matrix as it was installed, or find interchangeable analogues via the Internet.
  • Pay attention not only to the matrix itself, but also to the ribbon cable that connects it to the motherboard.

Broken mobile phone screen - this is one of the common malfunctions that owners contact repair shops with. In the manufacture of devices, hard, but fragile glass is used, which quite often under the influence of external factors: impacts, falls, squeezing, breaks, and the screen stops showing.
It is not possible to visually determine the severity of the damage to the display. When deep cracks appear or in the form of so-called "cobwebs", as well as when liquid crystal leaks, you should immediately contact an experienced craftsman. It should also be borne in mind that cracks are not always visible on the screen. Instead, light spots may appear in the center of the display. If the protective glass of the phone is broken, then it must be replaced.

Today, the problem of a broken display in specialized service centers is resolved quite quickly and efficiently.

The display of a mobile phone is an element that, unlike the case, loses its functionality upon impact or creates certain inconveniences during operation.
Faced with a similar problem, the owner of the phone has two options for solving the problem:

  1. Contact a qualified service technician.
If serious damage is identified during the diagnosis, you will have to buy a screen for the phone (a new original or non-original display - depending on your desire) so that the master can replace the old one.
  2. Go to the secondary market to sell.
In this case, the cost of your mobile device will largely decrease.

Before making a hasty decision, it is best to consult with an experienced technician to find out the cost of display replacement services.

Unlike the case, the screen of a mobile phone cannot be replaced by yourself. Therefore, if cracks and deep scratches appear, it is better to contact a service workshop to avoid more serious malfunctions of the device.

Damage to a mobile device such as a broken or cracked display is not a reason to get upset and sell your phone for a low cost. Having visited a specialized store where spare parts for phones are sold, as well as a service center, after a short time you will be able to enjoy the new type of mobile phone, without scratches, cracks and broken screens.

Plasma TVs are gaining extraordinary popularity every year, and even during the day. They have won the hearts of true connoisseurs of good technology and quality images. TV shows, films and even news are much more pleasant to watch on the big screen, which is captivating more and more consumers. However, sometimes there are such unpleasant situations as equipment breakdown or, for example, due to negligence, the TV screen breaks. Agree, not every day you face such a problem, therefore, not everyone knows the solution. In this article, we will tell you whether it is possible to repair a plasma TV if the screen is broken, and how to do it.

Plasma screen - what is it?

First, let's figure out what a plasma screen is and how does it project an image? The matrix is the basis of such a TV and contains a huge number of cells, inside which there is a mixture of xenon and neon. These cells are covered with phosphors. Also, special conductors are located along the perimeter, which contribute to the formation of ultraviolet glow during passage through the gaseous environment. This is what causes the cells to light up and glow in a given color. As a result, we can observe a complete image.

Such a complex mechanism is located between two, often glass, planes. But if earlier the thickness was 3 mm, then today, in order to facilitate and slightly reduce the technique, manufacturers have made thinner planes, namely 2 mm.

Important! Indeed, as expected, the weight became less, but the sensitivity to mechanical influences and fragility increased significantly.

What to do if the screen is cracked?

If you nevertheless break a TV set, or rather a plasma screen, then the integrity and correct functioning of the matrix is violated. Because gas mixture comes out through a split or crack, oh good image you can forget. It is also bad that this malfunction cannot be repaired - in any case, you will have to change the matrix.

Important! As a rule, the cost of this part of the TV reaches huge sums, so it is often easier to buy new techniquerather than trying to fix a broken TV.

In cases where you have a plasma panel installed, which is part of a home theater, and the sound system and other important functions do not depend on a broken panel, it is undesirable to change the matrix, as it is pointless. In such a situation, it is much easier, more profitable and faster to buy a new TV again.

Important! But if the situation is radically opposite - the TV has many functions and options, then replacing the matrix will be much more appropriate.

However, a TV set, especially a plasma TV, is a very expensive pleasure. We advise you to consult in advance with the wizard on the topic: is it possible to fix the LCD TV if the screen is broken, and find out the most suitable solution to the problem.

Is it necessary to change the matrix?

There is no single unequivocal answer to this question and there will not be. The whole point is that every situation requires an individual solution. We can only tell you about the basic principles and help you make your decision. So, if you have broken your TV, the first thing to look out for is the brand of the device, the cost, and the extent of the damage.

If the TV was bought a long time ago, then the manufacturer may already stop producing matrices for your model. In this case, you will have to either buy new equipment, or look for the necessary part in repair centers.

Important! So, for example, the well-known Japanese company Panasonic has ceased to produce plasmas, respectively - and matrices.

You should try to fix expensive TVs with a wide range of functionality, because this way you can save more than half.

Also, it is worth emphasizing that sometimes the damage is not so large-scale, which means that you can try not to replace, but to reconfigure the matrix. If, as a result of the impact, the gas did not leave the matrix, but only incomprehensible vertical and horizontal stripes formed on the screen, the situation can be corrected. To do this, take the broken TV to a service center.

Important! The huge advantage is that the cost of retuning is not that high.

Matrix replacement problems

If you have made the decision to change the matrix, you should adhere to several important points:

  1. This procedure is not carried out at home and even more so independently. You need to take the broken TV to an experienced technician for repair.
  2. During transportation, it is recommended to keep plasma panel upright. This will help to avoid incorrect redistribution of the load on one of the sides. That is, often in order to transport the injured TV, a car will not be enough for you.

Important! Conveniently, today you can easily call a wizard at home, who will help diagnose the magnitude of the problem and determine whether it is possible to repair the plasma TV if the screen is broken and whether it is necessary to change the matrix. The company will also help you deliver your TV to the service center and back, observing all the necessary transportation rules.

Prevention of damage

It cannot be argued that prevention is your best defense. Manufacturers have already created many ways to protect. One of them is an acrylic screen protector. Its advantage is that, unlike the TV screens themselves, they can be wet with water, scratched, or even light blows.

Important! This type of screen will help protect the original panel from mechanical damage, which is extremely important, as well as from dirt, dust, which is considered the enemy of nanotechnology.

So, if you want to protect your plasma TV from damage, and even more so if the cost of equipment is high enough, we recommend purchasing this protection option.

Important! An acrylic protective screen is very useful and necessary in a house with children, because one careless movement can lead to large losses.

We hope that after studying the material from this article, having weighed all the positive and negative aspects of the ways to solve the problem, you will be able to personally make a choice for yourself, change the matrix, reconfigure or acquire new equipment. The answer to the question whether it is possible to repair a plasma TV if the screen is broken remains rather ambiguous and requires the advice of an experienced technician. Be careful and if you buy an expensive plasma TV - protect it. In the future, we wish to avoid such situations and long-term equipment.
