And you can cook porridge like this:

  • Boil the washed grains of red lentils (2 cups) in salted water (4 cups) until cooked for half an hour over low heat.
  • While the groats are boiling, prepare the sautéing. Chop the onion (1 head) and carrots (1 root vegetable) into thin strips and fry until golden brown in hot oil (50 ml).
  • After that, mix the frying with boiled lentils, add a little black pepper (1/3 tsp) and herbs as desired.

The dish is ready.

This original and very simple dish will definitely become the signature delicacy of any meal.

For cooking we need:

  • 1 cup green lentils soaked for 10 hours
  • 2 boiled potato tubers,
  • 1 onion head,
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp wheat flour,
  • ½ tbsp. bread crumbs
  • 200 g cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste.

  1. We pass the boiled cereals, potatoes and diced and then fried in oil onions through a meat grinder, or puree in a blender. Add flour, pressed garlic, salt, spices to the resulting mass and mix well.
  2. Put the breadcrumbs into a heat-resistant form, greased with sunflower oil, and spread the resulting minced meat on top. Sprinkle grated cheese on top of the casserole and send the baking sheet into an oven preheated to 180 ° C for 20 minutes.

The casserole should be served hot with sour cream sauce and garlic grated with salt.

Lentil Zrazy

Lentil zrazy will perfectly complement the lunch menu with any side dish, be it vegetable salad, pasta or mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

  • Brown lentils - 1 glass;
  • Turnip onions - 5-7 heads;
  • Chicken egg - 4 pcs.;
  • Breading crackers - 1 glass;
  • Salt to taste;
  • Garlic cloves - 4 pcs.;
  • Hops-suneli - 1 tsp with a slide;
  • Ground black pepper - ½ tsp;

Preparation

  1. Rinse the legumes soaked for 4 hours and put them on a sieve.
  2. Meanwhile, fry the onion finely chopped into cubes in oil until light brown, then twist in a blender with lentils and garlic until smooth.
  3. Salt and pepper the resulting gruel, season with spices and mix with 2 raw eggs. The remaining 3 eggs are hard boiled and cut into ¼ lengthwise.
  4. We make cakes from minced meat, inside which we put slices of boiled eggs and then form oblong cutlets. Next, roll them in breadcrumbs and simmer under the lid for 5 minutes, and then fry in oil in a pan for 5 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Modern housewives undeservedly deprive their attention of lentil recipes. Simply and tasty with their help, a full lunch or dinner is prepared. It is important that it also turns out to be very useful. Lentils can be used to make not only soup, but also the most delicate porridge, side dish, salad, casserole and other interesting options.

The easiest way to prepare a side dish of lentils is using any model of multicooker. For such a recipe, you will need to take: 180 g of green lentils, 2 times more pure water, a couple of garlic cloves, half an onion and a carrot, oil, 1 bell pepper (Bulgarian), salt.

  1. The capacity of the device is lubricated with oil and in the "Baking" mode chopped garlic is cooked until browning. Then finely chopped peppers, carrots and onions are added to the bowl.
  2. When the vegetables become soft enough, you can change the mode to "Buckwheat", add washed lentils, cold water and cook the dish until the appropriate signal.

Served ready-made garnish of lentils with any meat sauce, fish or chicken.

Cooking lentil soup with tomatoes

This thick red stew is great for warming and nourishing. When preparing it, you can use not only fresh tomatoes, but also canned ones. They should be chunks in their own juice (350 g). Also taken: 5-6 cloves of garlic, a handful of olives, a little more than 300 g of red lentils, onions, carrots, a mixture of dried oregano, tarragon and basil, salt.

  1. The legumes are laid out in a saucepan, filled with cold water, brought to a boil, after which the fire is reduced to a minimum. The product is prepared before boiling, about half an hour.
  2. Whole garlic cloves are choked with a fork and fried in any fat along with chopped onions and carrots. After 5-7 minutes, peeled tomatoes, salt, spices (except tarragon) are sent to the pan, and the mixture is stewed about the same amount.
  3. The bright red frying is transferred to the beans, the ingredients are mixed and brought to a boil. After 7-9 minutes of boiling, the dish is completely ready.

Before serving, the soup is seasoned with tarragon.

Porridge with onions and carrots

Few people know that you can cook lentils in the form of porridge. Adding vegetables will make it even more delicious and satisfying. For such a dish will be used: 2 tbsp. red lentils, 3 small white onions, a small carrot, salt, oil.

  1. Vegetables are coarsely chopped and sent to a greased pan. In it, they are cooked until soft.
  2. When these products reach the required condition, salt and red lentils, thoroughly washed with ice water, can be added to them. Any aromatic herbs can also be used if desired.
  3. Water is poured into the pan (2 times more than legumes), it is covered with a lid and left over a medium-high heat. We must not forget about regular stirring of the dish.
  4. 12-15 minutes after the mass has boiled, the fire turns off, and the treat is left to rise for some more time.

Lastly, sprinkle the porridge with finely chopped herbs.

Stew lentils with chicken and thyme

This recipe will allow you to cook a full-fledged hearty dinner from lentils. The dish gives a feeling of fullness for a long time and energizes. For its preparation will be used: chicken (thigh) 650 g, large carrots, onions, tomato, 250 g lentils (green), 0.5 teaspoon dried thyme, a pinch of basil, salt, oil.

  1. Thick-walled dishes or cast-iron ducklings are ideal for such a dish.
  2. Onions and carrots are fried in a frying pan until golden brown (in oil), after which the vegetables are transferred to a cauldron or other similar container.
  3. The thighs are located on top of the onions and carrots.
  4. The next layer is thoroughly washed lentils.
  5. From above, the components are filled with water. The liquid should be about 1 cm higher.
  6. It remains to add seasonings, salt and a tomato cut into large slices to the cauldron.
  7. The food is braised together for about 45 minutes.

Before serving, the dish is thoroughly mixed again.

Lentil cutlets - a step by step recipe

The number of options that can be prepared from lentils is pleasantly surprising. Even cutlets can be made on the basis of this useful ingredient. They are perfect for fasting. As part of such cutlets: 1 tbsp. green lentils, an egg, 60 g of oatmeal, a white onion, a couple of garlic cloves, a pinch of pepper, coriander and cumin, salt, breadcrumbs, butter.

  1. Lentils are thoroughly peeled, washed and soaked in hot water for 2-3 hours. You can leave it overnight.
  2. After soaking, the water changes in the product, and it is cooked for about half an hour.
  3. Onions with garlic cloves are chopped and mixed with the finished lentils. Using a blender, the mass turns into a homogeneous thick puree.
  4. Oatmeal, salt, seasonings and an egg are added to the minced meat.
  5. Form miniature cutlets with a spoon, roll in breadcrumbs and cook in fat on both sides.

It must be remembered that the dish is fried very quickly. Therefore, it is better to mold the cutlets in advance.

Lentil Diet Salad

Lentil salad can be safely eaten even on a strict diet. The main thing is to properly prepare the legumes for him. Green lentils (220 g) are simply boiled in salted water. In addition to it, it is used: 300 g of boiled chicken fillet, a red onion, a sour apple, a bunch of green onions and parsley, 1 tbsp. mustard, 1 tsp. bee honey, half a glass of root vegetable broth.

  1. Boiled lentils are laid out in a salad bowl in the first layer.
  2. Boiled chicken fibers are sent from above.
  3. The third layer will be diced red onions.
  4. The fourth is an apple cut into cubes.
  5. Chopped greens are the last.
  6. The ingredients are thoroughly mixed and seasoned with sauce. To prepare it, broth, honey, mustard and salt are mixed. If desired, you can add any vegetable oil to the sauce.

Before taking a sample, you need to leave the salad bowl with treats in the cold for about half an hour.

Lentil-potato casserole with meat

This casserole is also suitable for a festive table. And for its preparation, the simplest available products will be used (1 cup - 350 ml): half a cup of water, milk, potato broth and green lentils, 800 g of potatoes, 550 g of minced meat, 3 tbsp. ghee, carrots, 70 g of hard cheese, a pinch of fenugreek, curry and asafoetida. Spices can be changed to any other to your liking.

  1. Lentils are soaked in cold water for 10-12 hours.
  2. Potatoes are cooked until cooked in salted water, and their broth is then used in a dish.
  3. A thick puree is prepared from the potatoes with the addition of butter, half of the milk and the same amount of broth.
  4. The cooked lentils are also mashed.
  5. Spices are fried in fat along with finely chopped carrots and minced meat. After 3-4 minutes, the lentil mass is also laid out in the pan. After adding water, the components are stewed for 7-8 minutes.
  6. Half of the mashed potatoes are placed in a form greased with any fat.
  7. Above - the mass from the pan, onto which the remaining broth and milk are poured.
  8. Next, the second part of mashed potatoes is laid out, and the surface of the future casserole is carefully leveled.
  9. The dish is prepared in a well-preheated oven for 35 minutes.

Serve very tasty casserole with sour cream and garlic sauce.

Simple Soup Puree Recipe

The simplest lentil puree soup cooks very quickly. The result will definitely appeal to even the smallest family members. For such a dish, use: 1.3 liters of chicken broth, 250 g of red lentils, 1 large tomato, 60 g of ketchup, an onion, 120 g of unsweetened yogurt, any seasonings, salt.

  1. Coarsely chopped carrots and onions are sautéed in butter in a saucepan. You can add ground paprika to these components.
  2. When the vegetables turn golden, washed beans are poured onto them. They roast together for a couple of minutes.
  3. Chicken broth and tomato paste are added to the saucepan.
  4. After 10-12 minutes, slices of peeled tomatoes are sent to the soup.
  5. It remains to add salt, seasonings to the dish and cook it for 25 minutes.
  6. While still hot, the treat turns into puree with a blender.

Soup with unsweetened yoghurt is served. By replacing the broth with plain water, it can be made vegetarian.

Lentil Curry - Indian Food Recipe

Lentils for a side dish can also be prepared in a very unusual way, for example, according to a popular Indian recipe with numerous spices. For such a dish, the original ingredient is used - coconut milk (180 ml), and, besides it: 170 g of red lentils, a pinch of curry, turmeric, pepper and cinnamon, half a red onion, 3 cloves of garlic, salt.

  1. The lentils are thoroughly washed with cold running water.
  2. Finely chopped onions, garlic and carrots, as well as all the spices, are sent to the pan.
  3. Lentils are added to the vegetables, and the ingredients are poured with half of the coconut milk (if there is not enough liquid, it is diluted with plain water). Together, the ingredients are cooked over very low heat until the legumes are soft.
  4. It remains to add salt to the treat, pour the remaining milk into it and cook for another couple of minutes.
