There is no more important and responsible moment in life than the choice of a university and a future profession, because the opportunities for self-realization, career, professional growth depend on education. In Perm, quality knowledge is provided in dozens of educational institutions. One of the most worthy educational organizations in the city is the Perm National Research Polytechnic University. This is a university with a wide range of areas and specialties, good human resources and modern material and technical base.

The first page in the history of the university

In Perm, the path of development of higher technical education was long, thorny and difficult. It was required to create a polytechnic institute in this city back in the 30s of the last century, but the Soviet government did not issue a corresponding order, since it did not see the need for it. The decision to organize the training of engineers in Molotov (the name of Perm in 1940-1957) was made only in 1953. In accordance with the issued order, the Molotov Mining Institute was opened in the city. It was from this educational institution that the history of the now existing Perm Polytechnic University began.

In the first year of work, the Molotov Mining Institute was planned to accept 200 people. Only 2 specialties were opened - "Development of mineral deposits" and "Mining electromechanics". In 1954, a new specialty appeared at the university - “Construction of mining enterprises”. In 1956, the educational institution began to think that in the future the institute would not be able to meet the needs of the industry of the Perm region. The staff expressed their opinion on the need to open a larger university.

The emergence of the Polytechnic Institute

The Molotov Mining Institute existed for about 7 years. In 1960, it was merged with the Evening Engineering Institute. The new educational institution, which appeared as a result of the merger, was called the Perm Polytechnic Institute. This university was created to meet the growing needs of the Perm region in engineers. It was planned to teach in it on full-time, evening and part-time forms in 22 specialties. In the first year of work at the Polytechnic Institute, 5566 people started their studies. Most of the students chose the full-time form of study. There were 2537 people on it.

Each subsequent year in the history of the educational institution is a contribution to development. The institute expanded the material and technical base, improved curricula, introduced new educational programs, conducted educational work with students. In the 90s, the achievements of the university were already significant. This led to a change in status in 1992. The educational institution became a state technical university (PSTU).

After receiving a new status, the university continued its development, began to publish a periodical printed scientific peer-reviewed journal, which is currently called "PNRPU Bulletin". First, there were publications devoted to mechanics. Now the university publishes several "Bulletins". Each of them contains articles on a specific topic - "Social and Economic Sciences", "Aerospace Engineering", "Construction and Architecture", etc.

Further events in the history of the university

In the modern period of the existence of the educational institution, several of the most significant events are distinguished. They are shown in the table.

    Events and achievements of PSTU
    Year Event
2007 Perm State Technical University won the victory in the All-Russian competition for innovative educational programs of universities. As a result of this event, the state provided financial support for the development of modern teaching methods, the purchase of devices, and personnel training. Thanks to the victory, PSTU created 4 scientific and educational complexes (“Nanostructured products and materials”, “Science-intensive technologies for oil and gas processing”, “Integrated development of territorially-combined oil and ore deposits”, “Gas turbine technologies”).
2009 The university received the status of a national research university. For further development, 4 priority areas were identified related to urbanism, nanoindustry, mining and processing of minerals, gas, oil, gas turbine technologies and aircraft engine building.
2011 and 2014In 2011, the higher educational institution was renamed into the Perm National Research Polytechnic University (PNRPU). In 2014, the educational organization was included in the list of the best universities in the CIS. It was compiled by the Expert Ra agency. In this list, PNRPU was assigned a rating class D, which indicated an acceptable level of graduates' training.

For example, for admission to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, results in mathematics, physics and Russian are required.

When applying to the budget for the full-time or part-time department of PNRPU, it is recommended to submit documents for several directions or specialties, having previously analyzed the passing scores of previous years. One program can be selected the most prestigious with high passing scores, and another less popular with low passing scores. Below is an example of such a choice.

The applicant plans to submit documents to the selection committee of PNRPU at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. The area of \u200b\u200binterest is "Informatics and Computer Engineering", and the program is "Automated Information Processing and Control Systems". In 2017, the passing score for the budget was 207 points. This is a pretty good result. To increase the likelihood of admission to free training, the applicant additionally submits documents for the direction "Electrical Engineering and Power Engineering" for the program "Design and Technology in Electrical Engineering". On it, the passing score at PNRPU in 2017 was 165 points.

It is much easier for applicants who have chosen the college of the Polytechnic University to enroll. No exams are required. Enrollment is carried out according to the average score of the educational document.

Why is it worth entering PNRPU?

There are several reasons why it is worth submitting documents to the PNRPU admission committee. First, the university offers a huge list of educational programs. Among them, each applicant finds something most interesting and suitable for himself. Secondly, nonresident students are offered hostels at PNRPU. The university has equipped 11 buildings for living. Thirdly, PNRPU provides students with the opportunity to receive foreign education.
