Insert page numbers into word. Insert page numbers.

It is convenient to insert page numbers when creating headers and footers by pressing a button Page number on the toolbar Headers and footers... They can be placed anywhere in the header or footer.

Alternatively, you can use the command Insert -\u003e Page numbers.

To set pagination, follow these steps:

1. Select a team Insert -\u003e Page numbers... A dialog box will appear on the screen Page numbersshown in Fig. 4.36.

2. In the list Position indicate the place on the page (bottom or top of the page) where you intend to place the page numbers.

3. Open the list Alignment and set how the page numbers are aligned (left, right, center, inside or outside).

4. To change the numbering format (1, 2, 3), press the button Format and add a chapter number or choose another format. Press the button OK.

Page numbering is not displayed normally. The location of the numbers on the page can be seen in the page layout or preview mode, as well as by selecting the command View -\u003e Headers and Footers.

If you need to change the position of page numbers, you must select the command Insert -\u003e Page numbers, in the list Alignment choose a new alignment method.

In MS Word, the default is end-to-end numbering pages to all sections of the document, but you can change the starting page numbers of each section.

In order to set the initial page number of a section, just enter the desired page number in the field Begin withby first setting the switch in the dialog box Page number format.

In order to remove page numbering, you must enter the mode for editing headers and footers, i.e. double-click on the page number field. In this case, the toolbar will open Headers and footers... After that, remove the page number in the corresponding field.

Column creation

Various variants can be created in MS Word speakers : same width, different width, same length, different lengths, with a separator, with built-in pictures.

But in all cases we are talking about columns of newspaper type, i.e. those in which the text at the end of one column goes into another.

Columns can be created using the command Format -\u003e Columnsor buttons Loudspeakers on the standard toolbar.

The columns are not visible in normal view, they can only be seen in page layout and preview mode.

The document can be split into columns in whole or in part. You can arrange as many columns on the page as there is enough space.

Working with columns is carried out using the dialog window Loudspeakerswhich opens with the command Format -\u003e Columns... Below is the list of options for this dialog box.
