For over 200 years, Moscow State University has been considered one of the best universities in Russia. Every year it attracts talented applicants to try their hand at admission. From year to year, students' questions do not change: how to get to Moscow State University? How many points do you need to score? Almost all the necessary information is available on the official website of Moscow State University or on the websites of faculties. In addition, it is worth analyzing student publics on Vkontakte. This, although not formal, source will help you get really reliable information.
Well, if you do not have time to engage in active searches, we have collected the answers to the most important questions in our material.

How to start preparing for admission to Moscow State University?

First, decide which faculty is interesting to you. Based on this, you can already build a training scheme. You will understand the dates of the open days you need, as well as which additional lectures and master classes in your future specialty are worth attending.
The sooner you decide on the direction, the easier it will be for you to prepare, and therefore, enter the budget.

What subjects should I take to enter Moscow State University?

Have you decided that you definitely want to enter Moscow State University, but have not yet decided on the subjects that are worth taking? We advise you to hurry up, because the list of subjects for each department is different. Of course, in any case, you will need to take the compulsory exam in Russian and mathematics. So, for a start, you can prepare for these subjects.

But Moscow State University would not be considered one of the most prestigious universities if they entered it only on the basis of the USE results. Moscow University was one of the few institutions that have introduced DWI (additional entrance tests).

For example, to enter the Faculty of Physics, you need to pass the Unified State Exam in Russian, mathematics, physics, and also write an additional written exam in physics. For the Faculty of Philosophy, you will need the Unified State Exam in the Russian language, history, social studies, as well as the DVI in the last subject.

You can prepare yourself both independently and with a tutor. But we think the most successful idea is to use the services of preparatory courses that operate at each faculty. Such courses have at least 2 big advantages. First of all, you will study on the materials of the university itself - after all, faculties always keep the bases of assignments from previous years. Plus, you can get to know your future teachers.

Benefits for applicants to Moscow State University

We are absolutely serious: enrolling in Moscow State University is real if you try. And you can start simple - study the manuals for applicants. For example, to enter the Faculty of History, you will need the following books:

1. “The history of Russia in schemes”. Authors: A.S. Orlov, N.G. Georgieva, V.A. Georgiev, T.A. Sivokhin.
2. "A manual on the history of the Fatherland for those entering universities." Authors: D.Yu. Arapov, V.V. Zuikov, A.S. Orlov, A.A. Lewandovsky, A. Yu. Polunov and V.I. Sailors.
3. "Historical Dictionary". Authors: V.A. Georgiev, N.G. Georgieva, A.S. Orlov.
4. "Russian history. A guide for high school students and applicants ”. Authors: Yu.A. Shchetinov, V.I. Moryakov, V.A. Fedorov.
Other.

And to enter the Faculty of Law, you will need:
1. "Social Studies: Textbook".
2. "Entertaining civil law: In 3 volumes". Authors: V.A. Belov, T.E. Sidorova, I.P. Kenenov.
3. "Fundamentals of State and Law: A Guide for Applicants to Universities". Authors: S.V. Klimenko, A.L. Chicherin.
4. "Constitutional Law: An Encyclopedic Dictionary". Edited by S.A. Avakyan.
5. "Social science". Edited by M.N. Marchenko.
Other.

Most often, manuals are available on faculty websites or in other open sources. But if they are not there, we advise you to visit online bookstores.

How many points do you need to score to enter Moscow State University?

Another popular question that doesn't have a single answer. The more points you get, the better. But the threshold, again, depends on the chosen faculty.
For example, last year the passing score at the Faculty of Economics was 331. That is, each exam had to be 80+ points. And at the Faculty of Bioengineering and Bioinformatics, the entrance was 448 out of the maximum 500.
Thus, on average in each subject, you need to strive to score more than 80 points. Then, to the questions of former classmates, is it difficult to enter Moscow State University, you can confidently answer: "It is difficult, but I did it."

How much does it cost to study at Moscow State University?

If you decide that money is not as important as quality education, we advise you to consider the option of paid education. Admission to the commercial department of Moscow State University costs from 300 thousand rubles a year. Payment is due by semester.

Is it realistic to enter Moscow State University if you have no money?

You will be surprised, but you can enter the paid department at Moscow State University without money. The university provides educational loans. This scheme has existed in foreign universities for decades. Moscow State University does not lag behind in this sense and since 2004 has been providing its students with loans for education. This does not require a pledge, surety or even majority.

The main thing is that your parents sign the necessary papers if you are under 18 years old. The loan is issued for up to 16 years at 10% per annum. By the way, if during your studies you find an amount sufficient to pay, you will be able to repay the loan ahead of schedule, within a year after the start of training.

Whether it is worth trying to enter Moscow State University, you decide, but a diploma from one of the most prestigious universities in our country will definitely help you in the future. After all, this is not only knowledge, but also useful acquaintances. Get ready and dare!

In the fall, the country's main university, Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov, will open its doors for school graduates and for those who wish to go to magistracy. However, already today the applicant can get all the information about the specialties, the cost of training and the opportunities that the first Alma Mater in Russia will provide him. So what is MSU ready to offer in 2018-2019?

What does it mean to enter Moscow State University: facts

The level of preparation at the university continues to get better. So, over the past year, the institution was able to strengthen its own positions and even climb in some international rankings - for example, the QS World University Rankings, compiled by leading experts from the British company Quacquarelli Symonds.

Here the university was able to get 18th place in the subject area "Natural Sciences" (against 40 lines in 2017), 51st place in the field of "Arts and Humanities" (previously - only 70th line), 60th place in the field of "Social Sciences and Management" (110 line in 2017). The growth was also demonstrated by the direction called "Engineering and Technologies". Substantial development of this area allowed Moscow State University to rise from 115 to 76 position.

No other educational institution of the Russian Federation could enter the first hundred of this rating and compete with foreign institutes and universities - Harvard, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and others. It is the prospects and prestige of the faculties of Moscow State University that will largely affect the final cost of education in 2018-2019. According to the rector V.A. Sadovnichy, education at the university will rise in price again.

How much does it cost

Young people who graduated from schools or colleges and want to be enrolled in Moscow State University in 2018-2019 need to find out about the actual cost of training specifically for a bachelor's or specialist's degree - the first and primary stages of higher education. They last 4 and 5 years, respectively.

It is important! The figures shown in the table, although they are approximate, can still be considered by both parents and children as real auxiliary guidelines. They were determined on the basis of last year's amounts, statistics from the Central Admissions Committee and the latest statements by the university's management.

Evening education at the faculties of Moscow State University is always about 1/3 cheaper than daytime education. For 2018-2019, the university provides for similar master's programs for full-time and part-time forms. In terms of cost, they are no different from the undergraduate and specialty programs, with the exception of the following areas:

 1. "Economics" (the master's student will cost 370,000, not 420,000 rubles) and "management" (380,000 rubles for the annual program).
 2. "Jurisprudence" (380,000 and 295,000 rubles for training in the afternoon or evening, respectively).
 3. "Management" of the Faculty of the Graduate School of Business (425,000 rubles).
 4. Innovatika (325,000 rubles).

Moscow State University (MSU) is one of the first universities in Russia and the most prestigious today. Moscow State University was founded by M.V. Lomonosov and I.I. Shuvalov, and its opening took place in 1755. Initially, it was called Imperial Moscow University, but only in 1940 was it named after the founder.

In Russian university rankings, Moscow State University always takes an exceptional first place. He is in all international ratings, but the positions are not so high. One of the reasons is that the majority of scientific texts in our country are written in Russian and their citation rate, in comparison with English ones, is extremely low.

To date, the infrastructure of Moscow State University includes more than six hundred buildings, headed by the main building, located on Vorobyovy Gory. In Moscow alone, the university has more than 200 hectares of land at its disposal, on which new buildings are constantly being built. Recently have been opened:

 • Intellectual center;
 • Fundamental library;
 • The first educational building;
 • 4 humanitarian building;
 • new modern dormitories.

What awaits applicants in the next 2018 and how will this affect the cost of education? According to the rector of Moscow State University V.A. Sadovnichy, today's high school students are much more motivated to acquire knowledge and go to university not for a diploma, but specifically for knowledge.

In 2018, as well as in the previous ones, those wishing to enter Moscow State University will need to pass not only the Unified State Exam, but also a written examination of the university. The competition for a place, according to forecasts, will be 7-15 people per one, depending on the faculty. Both traditional specialties and new ones are popular. What faculties will appear at Moscow State University in 2018 has not yet been reported, but they will be. In the same 2017, as you know, the Faculty of Space Research was opened.

In total, the university has 300 departments at 43 faculties, as well as 15 research institutes (research institutes).

MSU branches are located in the cities:

 • Sevastopol;
 • Astana;
 • Baku;
 • Dushanbe;
 • Yerevan;
 • Sevastopol;
 • Tashkent.

What the cost of studying

Since Moscow State University is a prestigious educational institution, the competition here is very large and increases from year to year. To enter the budget is the dream of any applicant, but not everyone can count on such places, there are not many of them in the university, so students are forced to apply for a contract in order to get a quality education.

The cost of studying at Moscow State University in the 2017-2018 academic year depends on the chosen faculty and specialty. Tuition prices are growing every year, not so long ago the rector of the university, academician Sadovnichy, named the minimum amount for students. In an interview with a Russian newspaper, the rector said that the minimum tuition fee for the current academic year will be 310,000 rubles for full-time education. Evening parties will have to pay less, for them the minimum will be 195,000 rubles a year.

The exact cost may still change. It directly depends on how much the government will allocate for training state employees.

According to independent calculations, for the entire period of study at Moscow State University. Lomonosov's master's students will have to shell out about 2 million rubles on average.

The cost of studying at different faculties

Every year the deans of each faculty at Moscow State University post information on tuition prices for applicants. This information is very important, since it is extremely difficult today to enter the full-time department of some faculties, for this it is necessary not only to pass the exam perfectly, but also to be a winner of at least citywide Olympiads. For a budget place, the passing score at the university should be from 241 to 455, depending on the faculty and specialty

The highest cost of studying at Moscow State University. Lomonosov in 2017-2018 will be at the leading faculties: economics, law, faculty of international relations, as well as the faculty of journalism, foreign languages and translation. That is, at all, where demanded specialists are trained with good prospects.

The following tuition fees are expected in leading faculties of Moscow State University:

 1. The cost of training at Moscow State University for the Faculty of Economics in 2017-2018: 360,000-390,000 rubles. 360,000 will cost training at the Department of Economics, and 390,000 - at the Department of Management and International Accounting of Finance. There are no discounts for training for beneficiaries.
 2. Faculty of Journalism: 325 thousand rubles. when studying for a bachelor's degree and the same amount for a specialist. A second higher education here will cost 225,000 rubles.
 3. Faculty of Law: 385,000 rubles. There are no discounts.
 4. Faculty of Psychology: 325,000 rubles.
 5. Faculty of Biology: 320,000 rubles.
 6. Faculty of State and Municipal Administration: from 325,000 rubles, depending on the specialty.
 7. Faculty of Philology: 310,000 rubles.
 8. Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics: 310,000 rubles. for full-time education.
 9. Sociological faculty: 325,000 rubles. For evening parties - 195,000 rubles.
 10. Faculty of General Medicine: 390,000 rubles. After receiving a diploma, it is possible to continue education in graduate school and residency on a paid basis.

This is not the final amount, the decision of each faculty will be officially announced at the end of June, possibly an increase in the amount of tuition due to inflation and general price increases. The cost of studying at Moscow State University for a bachelor's degree in 2017-2018 does not differ from the cost of training for a specialist. The second higher education at the university is always paid, but it will cost less - the average amount per year will be 220,000 rubles. It should be noted that almost all postgraduate studies at Moscow State University are also paid.

Those who fail to enroll or have no money to study at Moscow State University should not be upset. Now the idea of distance learning is being actively promoted, and tens of thousands of people get the opportunity to listen to the best lectures without leaving their homes.

We invite you to find out interesting facts about how one of the most popular universities in Russia was created by watching a video with documentary footage:

How many places are there in MSU dormitories? A student involuntarily asks himself this question, looking at hundreds of windows on the facade of the Main Building. The same question arises when critically considering the rhetoric of the administration: “We cannot settle, there are no places!”. We counted the number of rooms in the main dormitories of Moscow State University and took into account sanitary standards when they were properly populated.

Student House (Main Building)

Thanks to the tender for the provision of Internet services in the dormitory of the Civil Service, a technical assignment was published on the official website of the Moscow State University, containing information on the number of rooms in the GC provided by the MA:

Some comments on this data are needed. The difference between the symmetrical sectors "B" and "C" is probably due to the occupation of some of the premises by the Office of Hostels and other services, where the Internet is either already installed, or is simply not needed. The difference in the number of seats in sector "E" and other side sectors can be explained by the location of the clinic branch 202 in this sector. The 3rd floor is described by local residents as "rector's", the 5th floor is occupied by a preventorium, the 6th - by a hotel for seconded teachers, which also takes away some part of the number of residential places.

The rooms in the towers of sectors "B" and "C" are counted as triple rooms, although measurements of the area show that they are suitable for only two students. Therefore, from the amount declared in the tender, it is worth subtracting 64 (4 towers * 4 floors * 4 rooms * 1 "extra" resident), and we get 6890 accommodation places in the Main Building... It is noteworthy that in 2011 the administration presented the scheme ( http://igmsu.org/513), which refers to 6,500 residents of the State Protection Zone. Taking into account the difference of 100 seats between sectors "B" and "C", we conclude that about 500 places of public health facilities were reequipped for purposes not related to the accommodation of students.

Student House Branch (FDS)

This complex has 5 buildings, on each floor there are rooms with numbers 1..44, with two rooms each occupying two washrooms, one each - two toilets and two kitchens. A total of 36 living rooms on 4 floors, of which two on each floor are smaller. On the first floor, some of them are equipped for other needs (a linen exchanger, an "isolator", a telehall, a commandant, 2 rooms each are occupied by two showers, 2 more - a rocking chair, a few more rooms - a reading room). Let's estimate the first floor with 20 living rooms. Then the building has 4 * 36 + 20 = 164 rooms.

According to several independent measurements of the area of rooms, carried out by our participants, the area of a room in the FDS varies between 16.2-17.4 sq.m. Taking into account sanitary standards, you can live in such rooms no more than two at a time. Head of UO A.A. Vodolazsky, however, confidently reports on the area of 18 sq. M. The standard population density in the FDS is 3 people per room, and they like to pack freshmen at once by 4. It is interesting that the official website of Moscow State University admits violation of sanitary standards, stating: “3-4 people are accommodated in rooms. The real area per tenant of a three-bed room is about 4 sq.m. " ( www.msu.ru/depts/host/fds.html , archive: http://archive.is/vcBoW ).

So, one can be sure for sure: four of us are prohibited from living in the FDS rooms. Depending on the desire to round up the area of the room to 18 sq.m. the number of FDS residents will vary from 1640 (5 buildings * 164 rooms * 2 residents) to 2460 (5 buildings * 164 rooms * 3 residents). In 2011, the administration estimated the same number at 2,300.

Total - 3570 places in DAS.

The question remains open to what extent the declared number of residents corresponds to sanitary standards. So, if you download the terms of reference of the tender for the renovation of a number of rooms in DAS (), we will find that among the rooms on the 2nd floor of the 1st building there are several rooms with an area of about 30 sq.m., 12 sq.m. (both slightly smaller and slightly larger), 15.1 sq.m. Among the rooms on the 3rd floor we also find rooms with an area of almost 20 sq.m. Most likely, a violation of sanitary standards really takes place in the DAS, however, due to the lack of relevant data directly from residents, we will still consider the figure 3570 to be final.

Student House on Vernadsky Street (DSV)

21 residential floors (stylobate part - administrative). There are two types of rooms: "kopeck piece" and "treshki", their area is different, but several measurements indicate fluctuations in their areas in the region of 10.5 and 17.1 sq. M. respectively - that is, according to the norms, 1 person should live in a "kopeck piece", 2. According to the evacuation plans and the data of residents, there are 22 "kopeck pieces" and 25 "three rubles" on the floor (a couple of blocks on each floor are reserved for the kitchen , a gym, a computer class, etc., we do not take them into account), therefore, there are actually 119 people living on the floor, and according to sanitary standards, it should be 72.

Total: 21 * 72 = 1512 places in DSV (in fact, about 2500 people live).

Student House on Kravchenko (DSK)

According to scant data found on the forumlocal, the dormitory has 15 floors (not counting the administrative first). Each block has two rooms: "kopeck piece" (12 sq.m.) + "treshka" (18 sq.m.). In the opinion of residents, the norms in the DSK are observed. Only those married couples in which both spouses are from Moscow State University live in the DSK dormitory, so we will assume that 2 Moscow State University students live in each room (regardless of the presence of a child). There are about 16 blocks on each floor (this follows from the number of windows on the facade of the building: 7 large and three half on one side, 8 large and 1 half on the other, one of which obviously belongs to the kitchen). The assessment is confirmed by information from the official website of Moscow State University about "251 residential blocks".
Total: in DSK about 15 * 16 * (2 + 3) = 1200 seats.

Student House in Yasenevo (DSYA)

2 entrances of 16 floors, on each floor there are 4 apartments (two 2-room apartments for 5 people and two three-room apartments for 7 people). It would not be superfluous to mention that in this hostel, all students live in accordance with sanitary standards: probably the UO (Dormitory Management) understands perfectly well that law students are savvy in matters such as sanitary standards. The first floor is occupied by commandants and other bureaucracy, so 2 * 15 * 24 = 720.

RESULTS

In total, about 15.5 thousand places are recruited for all MSU dormitories (note that this assessment was made taking into account the observance of sanitary standards in the FDS and DSV!). The number of places calculated by us is greater than the number indicated on the MSU website in the "Dormitories" section - 15 thousand "students, graduate students, students of the preparatory department and advanced training courses" in need of a hostel. But, despite this, the residents of the FDS and DSV live in conditions of compaction (that is, in violation of sanitary standards).
