Additional night prayer (qiyam al-layl). Muslim prayer surah al fatihah The best time to perform it

Her dignity

1) Allah ordered His Prophet - peace and blessings be upon him! - perform it by saying: “Also devote part of the night to prayer. This is prescribed only for you [but not obligatory for your community]. Perhaps your Lord will honor you with a commendable position [in the eternal world]” (Holy Quran, 17: 79).

Although this order applies only to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him!), it also affects all other Muslims in the sense that they must follow it - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him! - for example.

2) He made it clear that those who regularly perform this prayer are virtuous, deserving of His Good and His Grace. He said: “Verily, the God-fearing will be in gardens, among springs. They will receive what their Lord has given them. Before this they did good. They slept only a small part of the night, and before dawn they asked for forgiveness” (Holy Quran, 51: 15 – 18).

3) He exalted them, praised them and numbered them among His good servants, saying: “The servants of the All-Merciful are those who walk on earth with calmness and humility, and when the ignorant approach them [with what is disgusting to them], they They respond with words that save themselves from sin. They spend their nights prostrating themselves and standing before their Lord” (Holy Quran, 25: 63 – 64).

4) He testified that they have faith in his signs: “Verily, those who believe in our signs are those who, when reminded of them, fall on their faces and glorify their Lord with praise. They are not arrogant [to believe and submit]. They lift their sides from their beds, calling upon their Lord with fear and hope, and spend from what We have given them. And not a single soul knows what delights for the eyes are hidden from them as reward for what they did” (Holy Quran, 33: 15 – 17).

5) He rejected the equality between them and those who do not fall under their description, saying: “Is he who humbly spends the night hours, prostrating and standing, fearing [the punishments of] the Hereafter and hoping for the Mercy of his Lord, equal to [the unbeliever ]? Say: “Are those who know and those who do not know equal?” Truly, only those who have knowledge remember edification” (Holy Quran, 39: 9).

This is part of what is given in the Book of Allah. As for the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him! - then here's some of it:

1) ‘Abdullah b. Salam said: " As soon as the Messenger of Allah - peace and blessings be upon him! - arrived in Medina, people quickly began to converge on him. I was one of those who came to him then. When I examined his face, I realized that this face was not the face of a liar. The first thing I heard from him were the words: “O people, spread Islam, give food [to the poor and orphans], strengthen family ties, pray at night when others are sleeping, and you will enter Paradise.”" This hadith is reported by al-Hakim, Ibn Majah and at-Tirmidhi, who said: “a good authentic hadith.”

2) Salman al-Farisi says that the Messenger of Allah - peace and blessings be upon him! - said: " Perform night prayer! Indeed, this was the custom of the righteous who lived before you. It brings you closer to your Lord, removes sins, stops you from [committing] sin and drives away disease from the body».

3) Sahl b. Sa'd says: " To the Prophet - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him! - Jibril appeared and said: “O Muhammad, live as long as you want, truly, you are mortal! Do whatever you want, truly, your deeds have already been decided (or: you have been rewarded for them!). Love whomever you want, truly, you will part with him! Know that the superiority of a believer lies in performing night prayer, and his strength is his lack of need for people.”».

4) It is reported from the words of Abu ad-Darda that the Prophet - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him! - said: " Allah loves three. They bring him laughter and joy. [The first is] the one who remains to fight on his own for the sake of Allah - He is omnipotent and great! - behind the retreating detachment. He either dies or Allah gives him victory and protection. [About him Allah] says: “Look at my slave, how he alone shows patience for My sake!” [The second is] the one who has a beautiful wife, a nice comfortable bed, but he still gets up at night to pray. [About him Allah] says: “He leaves what he has a passion for and remembers Me, and if he wanted, he would have stayed asleep.” [The third is] the one who is on the road with the caravan. This caravan makes its way at night and then goes to bed. He, in joy and in sorrow, gets up before dawn [to pray]».

Rules of conduct associated with this prayer

For anyone who is planning to get up at night to pray, it is advisable to:

1) Before going to bed, intend to wake up at night to pray.

It is reported from the words of Abu ad-Darda that the Prophet - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him! - said: " Whoever goes to bed intending to get up at night and pray, but is so overcome by sleep that [he does not wake up] until the morning comes, then what he intended [to do] will be written down for him, and his sleep will be a charity for him from his Lord" This hadith is reported by an-Nasa'i and Ibn Majah with an authentic isnad.

2) When you wake up, wipe your face to drive away sleep, brush your teeth with siwak, look at the sky and turn to Allah with the prayer that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) called on:

« La ilaha illa Anta. Subhana-Ka Allahumma wa bi-hamdi-Ka. Astaghfiru-Ka li-zanbi, wa as'alyu-Ka Rakhmata-Ka. Allahumma zid-ni ‘ilman, wa la tuzig kalbi ba’da from hadaita-ni! Wa hab li min lyadun-Ka Rakhmatan, inna-Ka anta-l-Wahhab! / There is no other deity except You. Glory are You and praise belongs to You, O Allah. I ask You for forgiveness of my sins and Your Grace. O Allah, increase my knowledge and do not deviate my heart from the right path after You have guided me! Grant me Mercy from Yourself, truly You are the Giver!”;

«الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ»

« Al-hamdu li-Llyahi alyazi ahya-na ba’da ma amata-na va ilei-Hi-n-nushur! / Praise be to Allah, who revived us after He killed us, and to Him [is our] return».

Then read the last ten verses from Surah Al ‘Imran, with the words: “ Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and in the alternation of night and day are contained the signs of Allah for those who have intelligence..."(Holy Koran, 3: 190) - and until the end of the sura.

After this say:

« Allahumma la-Ka-l-hamdu, Anta Nuru-s-samavati wa-l-ardi wa man fi-hinna. Wa la-Ka-l-hamdu, Anta Kayimu-s-samawati wa-l-ardi wa man fi-hinna. Wa la-Ka-l-hamdu, Anta-l-Hakku, wa wa'du-Ka hakku, wa lika'u-Ka hakku, wa-l-jannatu hakku, wa-n-naru hakku, wa-n-nabiyuna hakku, wa Muhammadun hakku, wa-s-Sa'atu hakku. Allahumma la-Ka aslamtu, wa bi-Ka amantu, wa ‘alei-Ka tawakkaltu, wa ilei-Ka anabtu, wa bi-Ka hasamtu, wa ilei-Ka hakamtu. Fa-gfir li ma kaddamtu wa ma akhhartu, wa ma asrartu wa ma a’lantu! Anta Allah, la ilaha illa Anta! / O Allah, praise be to You, You are the Light of heaven and earth and [thanks to You, those who are in them take the right path. Praise be to You, You are the Ruler of the heavens and the earth and those who are in them. Praise be to You, You are the True, Your promise is the truth, meeting with You is the truth, Heaven is the truth, Hell is the truth, the prophets are the truth, Muhammad is the truth, The Hour of Judgment is the truth. O Allah, I have submitted to You, I have believed in You, I trust in You, I have submitted to You, I present the arguments You provided as an argument, and I turn to Your judgment. So forgive what I have already done and what I have not yet done, as well as what I have hidden and what I have discovered! You are Allah, there is no god but You!».

3) Start the night prayer with two short rak’ats, and after them pray as much as you want.

It is reported from the words of ‘Aisha, who said: “ When the Messenger of Allah - peace and blessings be upon him! - got up at night, he began his prayer with two short rak’ats.” It is also reported from the words of Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him! - said: “If any of you gets up at night, then let him begin his prayer with two short rak’ats!" Both of these hadiths are reported by Muslim.

4) Wake up your family members.

It is reported from the words of Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him! - said: " May Allah have mercy on the man who gets up at night, prays, wakes up his wife, and if she is too lazy to get up, splashes water on her face! May Allah have mercy on the woman who gets up at night, prays, wakes up her husband, and if he is too lazy to get up, splashes water on his face!" It is also reported from his words that the Messenger of Allah - peace and blessings be upon him! - said: " If a man wakes up his wife at night and the two of them pray together, or he said: “they will perform two rak’ahs together,” then they will be recorded among “[frequently] men and women who remember [Allah].”" Both of these hadiths are narrated by Abu Dawud and others with an authentic isnad.

It is reported from the words of Umm Salama that the Prophet - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him! – woke up at night and said: “ Glory to Allah! How many troubles were sent down at night and how many riches were sent down! And who wakes up the occupants of the rooms (that is, their wives) [at night]? Oh, how many are there who are clothed in this world, but naked in the eternal world!" This hadith is reported by al-Bukhari.

It is reported from the words of ‘Ali that the Messenger of Allah - peace and blessings be upon him! - came to him and Fatima at night and said: “ Don’t you pray?” ‘Ali says: “I said: “O Messenger of Allah, our souls are in the hands of Allah. If He wants us to stand up, then we will stand up.” When I said this, he left. Then I heard him slap his thigh as he left, saying: “ But man is most inclined to argue(Holy Quran, 18: 54)

5) Stop praying if he is overcome by sleep, and sleep until sleep leaves him.

It is reported from the words of ‘Aisha that the Prophet - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him! - said: " If one of you gets up at night and the Koran begins to get confused on his tongue, and he does not know what he is saying, then let him go to bed" This hadith is reported by Muslim.

Anas says: “ Messenger of Allah - peace and blessings be upon him! - entered the mosque, and there was a rope stretched between two pillars. He said, “What is this?” They answered him: “This is for Zeinab, she prays, and when she gets tired or weak, she holds on to her.” He said: “Untie her, let each of you pray while he is awake, and when he becomes tired or weak, let him sleep!”" This hadith is agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim.

6) Do not overload yourself, but pray at night as much as you have the energy for, but do this prayer regularly and never miss it, except under forced circumstances.

It is reported from the words of ‘Aisha that the Messenger of Allah - peace and blessings be upon him! - said: " Do as many [good] deeds as you can! I swear by Allah, Allah will not get bored until He gets bored of you

They also report from her words that the Messenger of Allah - peace and blessings be upon him! - asked: “ Which deed is more beloved by Allah Almighty?” And he replied: “The one that is performed constantly, even if it is small.” Muslim also reports that she said: “The actions of the Messenger of Allah - peace and blessings be upon him! - were constant, and if he committed some act, then it became regular».

‘Abdullah b. ‘Umar reported that the Messenger of Allah - peace and blessings be upon him! - told him: " O ‘Abdullah, do not be like the one who performed the night prayer and then abandoned it!" This hadith is agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim.

They also both report from the words of Ibn Mas’ud, who said: “ Under the Prophet - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him! - they mentioned one man who slept until morning, and he said: “Shaitan urinated in this man’s ears (or: in the ear)”».

They also both narrate from the words of Salim b. ‘Abdullah b. ‘Umar, who reported from the words of his father that the Prophet - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him! - said to his father: “ ‘Abdullah would be a good man if he prayed at night...’ Salim said: “After this, ‘Abdullah began to sleep only a little at night.».

The time of its execution

Additional night prayer (tahajjud or qiyam al-layl) can be performed at any time after the obligatory night prayer (‘isha): at the beginning of the night, in the middle, or at the end.

When Anas - may Allah be pleased with him! - described the prayer of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him! - He said: " At whatever time of the night we wanted to see him praying, we were sure to see it, and at whatever time of the night we wanted to see him sleeping, we were sure to see it. During the month he could fast so much that we said that in this month he did not spend a single day without fasting, or he could not fast [in a month] so much that we said that in this [month] he did not fast at all" This hadith is reported by Ahmad, al-Bukhari and an-Nasa'i.

Hafiz said: “He has - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him! – there was no specific time for the night prayer-tahajjud. He did it when it was convenient for him.”

The best time to do it

1) Narrated from the words of Abu Hurayrah - may Allah be pleased with him! - that the Messenger of Allah - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him! - said: " Every night in its last third, Our Lord is omnipotent and great! - descends to the lower heaven and says: “Who calls to Me? I answer him. Who asks Me for anything? I give it to him. Who asks Me for forgiveness? I forgive him"" This hadith is reported by several scholars.

2) Narrated from the words of ‘Amr b. ‘Abasa, who said: “ I heard the Messenger of Allah - peace and blessings be upon him! - said: “The servant is closest to the Lord in the second half of the night. If you are capable of being one of those who remember Allah at this time, then be one!”" This hadith is reported by al-Hakim and says that it meets the requirements of Muslim. It is also reported by at-Tirmidhi, who called it good and reliable. It is also cited by an-Nasa'i and Ibn Khuzaimah.

3) Abu Muslim asked Abu Dharr: “ Which night prayer is better? He replied: “I asked the Messenger of Allah - peace and blessings be upon him! - exactly the same question, and he answered: “[That which is performed] in the second half of the night, but few people do this.”" This hadith is reported by Ahmad with a good isnad.

4) Narrated from the words of ‘Abdullah b. ‘Amra that the Prophet - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him! - said: " The most beloved fast for Allah is the fast of Dawud, and the most favorite prayer for Allah is the prayer of Dawud. He [first] slept half the night, then prayed for a third of the night, and then slept the [remaining] sixth of the night, and he fasted every other day." This hadith is reported by al-Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Dawood, an-Nasa'i and Ibn Majah.

Number of rak'ats

The additional night prayer does not have a specific number of rak'ahs and there is no specific limitation. It will be considered completed even if you perform one rak’at of the Witr prayer after the obligatory night prayer (‘isha).

1) Reported from the words of Samura b. Junduba, may Allah be pleased with him! - who said: “ Messenger of Allah - peace and blessings be upon him! - commanded us to pray a little or a lot at night, and to end it with the Witr prayer" This hadith is reported by at-Tabarani and al-Bazzar.

2) It is reported from the words of Anas - may Allah be pleased with him! - that the Prophet - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him! - said: " Praying in my mosque is equivalent to ten thousand prayers, praying in Masjid al-Haram is equivalent to one hundred thousand prayers, and praying on the front line of defense is equivalent to a million prayers. But beyond all this are two rak’ahs that a slave performs in the dead of night." This hadith is cited by Abu ash-Sheikh and Ibn Hibban in their book “al-Sawwab”, but al-Munziri in “at-targyb wa-t-tarhib” kept silent about it.

3) Narrated from the words of Iyas b. Mu'awiya al-Muzani, may Allah be pleased with him! - that the Messenger of Allah - peace and blessings be upon him! - said: " It is necessary to perform [additional] night prayer, even if [it takes as much time as it takes to] milk a sheep. And what [is done] after the obligatory night prayer (‘isha) is considered [done] at night." This hadith is reported by at-Tabarani, and all his narrators, except Muhammad b. Ishaq are trustworthy.

4) It is reported from the words of Ibn ‘Abbas - may Allah be pleased with him and his father! - who said: “I started talking about additional night prayer and one of the people said: “ Truly, the Messenger of Allah - peace and blessings be upon him! - said: “Half the night, a third of the night, a quarter of the night, a period of time for milking a camel, a period of time for milking a sheep.”».

5) It is also reported from his words: “ Messenger of Allah - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him! - ordered us to perform additional night prayer. He encouraged us to do it and said: “You should perform night prayer, at least one rak’at!”" This hadith is reported by at-Tabarani in al-kabeer and al-awsat.

However, it is better to constantly perform eleven or thirteen rak’ats. You can perform them all together in the form of one prayer, or you can do them intermittently.

‘Aisha - may Allah be pleased with her! - said: " Neither in the month of Ramadan nor at any other time, the Messenger of Allah - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him! – did not perform more than eleven rak’ats. He performed four rak'ahs, and do not ask about their beauty and their duration. Then he performed four more rak'ats, and do not ask about their beauty and their duration. Then he performed three rak'ats. I asked: “O Messenger of Allah, do you sleep before you pray Witr?” He replied: “O ‘Aisha, indeed my eyes sleep, but my heart does not sleep.”" This hadith is reported by al-Bukhari and Muslim.

They also quote from the words of al-Qasim b. Muhammad, who said: " I heard ‘Aisha - may Allah be pleased with her! - said: “Night prayer of the Messenger of Allah - peace and blessings be upon him! - consisted of ten rak’ats, after which he made witr from one rak’at.”».

Restoration of night prayer

Muslim reported from the words of ‘Aisha that if the Prophet - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him! - because of pain or for some other reason he missed the night prayer, then in the daytime he performed twelve rak’ats.

Also, Muslim, at-Tirmidhi and an-Nasa’i report from the words of ‘Umar that the Prophet - peace and blessings of Allah be upon him! - said: " Whoever sleeps through his norm [of night prayers] or part of it, let him read them between the obligatory morning (fajr) and lunch (zuhr) prayers, and then it will be written down for him as if he had read them at night».

Translation and meaning of Surah Al-Fatiha:

1. In the name of Allah [the name of God, the Creator of all things, the One and Only for everyone and everything], whose mercy is limitless and eternal. The sura begins with the name of Allah, the One, the Perfect, the Almighty, the Impeccable. He is the Merciful, the Giver of Good (great and small, general and particular).

2. True praise belongs only to Allah - the Lord of 3 worlds. All kinds of most beautiful praise to Allah the One for everything that He has ordained 4 for His slaves. All glory to Allah - the Creator and Lord of the inhabitants of the worlds 5. In this revelation, the Almighty called himself the Lord of the worlds, thereby emphasizing that He alone creates, controls and bestows blessings on whomever He wishes. All kinds of natural phenomena, economic and political crises, great scientific discoveries and bright historical events - the Almighty controls and disposes of all this what is happening on this Earth, leading Life according to a single plan. He is the only Holder of real power.

3. Whose mercy is limitless and eternal. Allah is All-Merciful. He alone is the Source of Grace and the Giver of every Good (great and small).

4. Lord of the Day of Judgment. Allah alone is the Lord of the Day of Judgment - the Day of reckoning and retribution. And no one except Him has power over anything on this Day. On the Day of Judgment, everyone will receive retribution for all the actions, words and deeds that he has done in this worldly life, good or bad. “And whoever has done even an atom’s worth of good [without a doubt] will see it. And whoever has committed even an atom’s worth of evil [certainly and without a doubt] will also see it” (Holy Quran, 99:7-8).

5. We worship You and ask You for help [support, God’s blessing in our affairs].

Worship is a concept that unites all the words and deeds of a person with which the Almighty is pleased. An act of worship can be a kind word to a loved one, helping another, for example, with advice, a good deed towards him, providing one or another opportunity, providing material assistance, etc., while doing all this selflessly, and sometimes to the detriment of oneself , their own interests, and never expecting gratitude for the good done. When a person’s soul and mind are free from the expectation of gratitude, filled only with love and awe of the Creator, and this awe is not at the level of words, but precisely of the hearts (“and their hearts are trembling”) 6 this is one of the infinite number of facets of worshiping the Almighty. Correctness, verified intentions and sincerity of a heart filled with love for the Lord of the worlds are qualities that raise an ordinary, most mundane matter to the level of “accepted worship” of the Almighty and give a person the right to count on reciprocal Divine love.

Despite the fact that asking for help is one of the forms of worship, Allah Almighty mentioned it separately in His last Scripture, because when performing any ritual (deed), the servant of Allah needs the help of his Lord. Without His help, a person will never be able to properly carry out God’s commands, patiently go through difficulties that arise and avoid sins.

6. Guide us on the right path 7. [Lead us on the straight path of truth, goodness and happiness, direct us to it and help us follow it.]

7. By the way of Your servants [from among the prophets, messengers, righteous people and all those who were awarded such honor], whom You guided to believe in You and to whom You showed Your mercy, guiding them to the straight path and showing them Your favor, but do not [lead us along the path] of those who have provoked Your anger and have strayed from the path of truth and goodness [by not fulfilling and not following the obligations prescribed by You].

Al-Fatihah is the greatest surah of the Quran. It is one of the most useful, profound and comprehensive prayers in Islam. It talks about the totality of ideas and the general meaning of the Koran, which confirms monotheism, being good news for believers. In this surah, Allah Almighty warns of the punishment of sinful people and unbelievers, and also indicates the need to worship the Lord. The surah also tells about those who obeyed Allah and found bliss, and about those who disobeyed Him, did not follow the obligations established by Him, and found themselves at a loss.

Allah has obligated people to cry out to Him with these words in every rak’ah of prayer, that every person needs God’s help. Prophet Muhammad, may the Almighty bless him and greet him, especially emphasized the power of this surah, saying: “Al-Fatihah” is a cure for any disease except death.” The following hadith is given to confirm his words.

One day, a group of companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, passed by an oasis, the leader of whose tribe was bitten by a scorpion. A resident of the oasis came out to meet them and said: “Are there any among you who know how to heal with prayer? There is a man in the oasis who was bitten by a scorpion.” The Prophet's companion went to the head and began to read Surah Al-Fatihah 8, blowing and spitting on the bite site. Very quickly this man began to come to his senses. After some time, the leader seemed to be freed from his bonds and began to walk, completely free of pain. When the patient fully recovered, the companions returned to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and told him about what had happened, to which the Prophet asked: “How did you know that Al-Fatihah can serve as a conspiracy (medicine) ? And then he said: “You did everything right 9, divide what you got and give me one sheep” 10.

Imam an-Nawawi said: “Sura Al-Fatihah is a ruqya spell (along with other forms of its benefit and grace). Therefore, it is advisable to read this surah for those who have suffered a harmful, poisonous bite, as well as for anyone suffering from one or another ailment or disease” 11.

Al-Fatihah is the greatest surah of the Quran, which is also a useful, powerful and comprehensive prayer. Allah has obligated people to call upon Him with these words in every rak'ah of prayer.

Al-Fatiha - treatment for any disease except death

Prophet Muhammad, may the Almighty bless him and greet him, especially emphasized the power of this surah, saying: “Al-Fatihah” is a cure for any disease except death.” The following hadith is given to confirm his words.

One day, a group of companions of the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, passed by an oasis, the leader of whose tribe was bitten by a scorpion. A resident of the oasis came out to meet them and said: “Are there any among you who know how to heal with prayer? There is a man in the oasis who was bitten by a scorpion.” A companion of the Prophet came to the head of the tribe and began to read Surah Al-Fatiha, blowing and spitting on the bite site. And then he said: “You did everything right, divide what you got and give me one sheep.”

Imam an-Nawawi said: “Sura Al-Fatihah is a ruqya spell (along with other forms of its benefit and grace). Therefore, it is advisable to read this surah for those who have suffered a harmful, poisonous bite, as well as for anyone suffering from one or another illness or disease.”

This surah is an effective supplication addressed to a world where there are no concepts of time and space, the correct appeal to which can result in indescribable forms of happiness in the worldly and eternal.

If you need anything, then read Surah Al-Fatihah from beginning to end, and Allah Almighty will give you help if He wishes

There are several more hadiths that show the merits of reading Surah Al-Fatihah. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that in Surah Al-Fatihah there is a cure for any misfortune.

Abu Suleiman (may Allah be pleased with him!) reports that the companions of the prophet, during one battle, read Surah Al-Fatiha to a man who fell to the ground from epilepsy. After reading Fatiha, the person immediately recovered. To this, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Sura Al-Fatihah is a cure for any disease.”

Kharij Ibn-i Salt At-Tamimi (may Allah be pleased with him!) conveyed the following story from his uncle: One day I came to the prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). After I left him, I went to a certain community. Among them there was one insane person, he was kept on a chain. People close to this patient asked me: “Do you have any medicine with you that will help this crazy person? We were told that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) brought goodness with him.” For 3 days, I read Surah Al-Fatiha to him in the morning and evening, and after reading, without swallowing my drool, I blew on him. Then, when this patient recovered, they gave me 100 sheep. I immediately returned to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and told him this story. To this he ordered: “Eat these sheep! I swear, there are also people who eat what was given to them for doing bad things. And you did a good job.”

Abdul-Malik (may Allah be pleased with him!) conveyed the following words of the prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): “In Surah Fatiha there is recovery from all diseases.” He also said: “If you fall ill or complain about anything, then turn to Surah Al-Fatiha, which is the basis of the Holy Quran.”

Abud-Darda (may Allah be pleased with him!) conveyed the following words of the prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): “Sura Fatiha is different from all the suras of the Holy Quran. If you place it on one pan of the scale, and put the entire Quran on the other pan, then Surah Al-Fatiha will be 7 times heavier.”

The following words of Ata (may Allah be pleased with him!) are narrated: “If you need anything, then read Surah Al-Fatihah from beginning to end, and Allah will help you if He wishes.”

Ushr, ushur from Arabic means a tenth. This is a kind of tax or fee of 1/10. The need to pay usra is enshrined in the Koran, Sunnah and the unanimous decision of Islamic theologians (ijma). This type of zakat is paid on agricultural products (harvest). Zakat on the harvest of crops and orchards grown by rain or river water, hay, as well as.

There are two types - full and small ablution. Complete ablution (ghusl) Complete ablution is also called ghusl. This is the pouring process.

Sura al Ikhlas text in Russian letters Bismi-llayahi-rrahmaani-rrahhiim 1. Kul hu Allahu ahad. 2. Allahu s-samad. 3. Lam yalid wa lam yulyad.

You pray and ask God to give you something or take something harmful away from you. However, no matter how diligently you cry out to the Almighty Creator, your prayers remain unanswered and you do not realize the reason for this. Why doesn't Allah answer my prayer? The Almighty hears and sees everything, knows about all our desires. He said: “If.

The development of Islam in the country, the construction of mosques and their demolition, training, as well as the appointment of clergy, are under the control of the state. Society in Turkmenistan is historically passive, and that narrow layer that could influence political life was trampled underfoot during the time of Saparmurat Niyazov. Even in the most religious areas of Turkmenistan there are no Islamic polities.

The Koran, which is the holy book for all Muslims, says that if one prays to Allah every day, it will definitely be rewarded. The belief in this is so strong in the soul of every believer that believers turn to Allah many times throughout the day, both in sorrow and in joy. Every Muslim believes that only Allah is able to protect him from all earthly evil.

Gratitude and Praise to Allah in Daily Prayer

The Koran says that a true believer must praise and thank Allah every day.

The daily prayer translated into Russian is as follows:

“I praise and thank Allah, he is the very first and the very last, before and after him there is no one! I pray to Allah, whose thoughts are deep and omnipresent! Thanks to his power, he created everything around him, breathed life into the created beings and directed them to the true path. He is omnipotent; when he directs us forward, no one will lure us onto another path, and when he returns us, there is no force on earth that can force us to move forward. It determines the sustenance and wealth of all living beings, so no one can reduce the wealth of one to whom it is given, or add to the wealth of one who is given little.

It determines how long each person will live. And when the believer takes his last steps on earth, he will take him home and reward him, or throw him into the abyss of terrible punishment. Everyone will get what they deserve. He is Justice. Pure, immaculate and endless are His blessings! No one can call him to account, only everyone reports to him for what they have done.”

Muslim prayers to Allah

There are a huge number of different Muslim prayers that are read in a wide variety of everyday situations. For example, there are special prayers that need to be read in the morning while dressing and vice versa, in the evening while undressing. Prayers must be said before eating.

Every Muslim always reads a prayer when putting on new clothes, and at the same time asks Allah to protect him from damage. In addition, the prayer mentions giving thanks to the one who created the clothing, as well as asking Allah to send him the highest blessings.

Prayer is required before a believer leaves the house or in cases where one has to enter someone’s house. In this way, reverence and respect are expressed for the people whose home you have to visit.

Prayer "Kulhu Allahu ahad" in Arabic

The prayer “Kulhu Allahu ahad” is aimed at ensuring that a person can fulfill his own desires.

In Arabic, the text of the prayer is:

"Kulhu in Allahu Ahad"
Allahu samad
Lam yalid wa lam yulad
Wa lam yakun allahu, kufuwan ahad.”

It is believed that this appeal is more effective if pronounced in Arabic. It is imperative to take into account that this prayer can be read by a believer who has a pure soul and sincere thoughts. Otherwise, Allah simply will not hear the request and will not help. You also need to know that this prayer cannot be said independently. It is important to understand the very essence of the ritual. The person for whom the prayer is offered must sit on a chair, and the one saying the prayer places his hands on his head.

After this, the words of prayer are said. For greater effectiveness, it is recommended to carry out the ritual for several days in a row.

Listen to the prayer “Kulhu Allahu ahad”:

Text of the prayer “Kulhu Allahu ahad” in Russian

Despite the fact that the prayer “Kulhu Allahu Ahad” is considered stronger in the original language, it is allowed to pronounce its words in Russian. There are several variations of this prayer.

For example, you can pray with the following words:

“In the name of Almighty Allah, I conjure you from any illness, from any evil look, from enemies and from any grief. From the eyes of the envious, the Great Allah will heal forever. In the name of Allah I conjure you forever.”

It is important to understand that this prayer does not carry magical overtones; it contains a philosophical and religious grain. And this is exactly what the people participating in the ritual should fully feel. What is important is sincere faith that Allah will hear the prayer and will definitely reliably protect the person. But this is only possible if a person has a bright soul.

Namaz is a mandatory ritual for any Muslim. He will build not only from prayers, but also from certain actions. Therefore, someone who has recently converted to Islam will need to make great efforts to master all the rules. Of course, at first you will need to gradually study all the necessary prayers.

But first of all, you should know that there is a single prayer that can be used at any time.

It sounds like this:

“O Great Allah! We true believers appeal to Your help, we ask You to help us follow the right path, we ask You for forgiveness for all our wrong actions and sincerely repent. We believe in You and rely on You. We true believers praise You with all our souls. We thank You and acknowledge all Your power. We reject evil from ourselves and leave all those who commit lawless and unrighteous acts. Oh my God! We are true believers, we worship You alone, we pray to You alone, and we bow to the ground only before You. We true believers strive for You with all our souls and our thoughts. We true believers hope for Your mercy and fear Your punishment. Let Your punishment befall the atheists!”

In addition, there is a very important prayer for beginners who are just getting acquainted with the rules of prayer.

After the obligatory prayers, the following prayer phrase should be said:

“O Allah, help me, a believer, to remember You worthily, to thank You worthily and to worship You correctly.”

Prayer "Allah Akbar"

“Allah Akbar” translated from Arabic means the great Lord. This phrase recognizes the power and might of the Almighty. In the Muslim religion, “Allah Akbar” is a formula for recognizing the Greatness of God. This phrase emphasizes obedience to Allah, it is one of the phrases that reflects true obedience to the Almighty, an oath of denial of other powers and dominations.

Every Muslim child understands what Allah Akbar means. This sacred phrase sounds on the lips of Muslims throughout their lives, and these words accompany all the deeds of the faithful. This phrase is always heard in Islamic prayers. It is treated as a separate prayer request.

It can be translated as follows:

“Thy will be done. Great Allah, not mine."

It is incorrect to treat this expression as a war cry. It is rather a reminder to the faithful that regardless of the current situation, God is Great and Almighty. It must be remembered that success and happiness for a Muslim comes from Allah, his whole life depends on him. A believer says “Allahu Akbar” when he is very frightened and after that his soul will certainly calm down. Because he will remember that everything is in the hands of God. Using this phrase you can also remove anger from the soul, calm down and prevent wrong actions. This prayer expression is also pronounced in moments of joy and success as a sign of thanksgiving to God.

This surah is an effective supplication addressed to a world where there are no concepts of time and space, the correct appeal to which can result in indescribable forms of happiness in the worldly and eternal.

Prayer ayat al fatiha

Interpretation of Surah al-Fatiha

Has become popular in recent days video excerpt from the speech of the deputy imam of the mosque in the city of Buynaksk, Salman-haji, in which he talks about the problem of religious illiteracy. “People die without knowing the meaning of Surah al-Fatihah,” the imam is rightly indignant. And encourages people to seek knowledge. In connection with this video message, we began to receive many requests to post a translation of the meaning of Surah al-Fatiha on our website.

We will give you an abbreviated interpretation of Al-Fatiha from the tafsir of one of the best interpreters - Ibnu Kathir.

“In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful! Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, the Gracious, the Merciful, the Lord of the Day of Retribution! You alone we worship and you alone we pray for help. Lead us on the straight path. By the path of those whom You have blessed, not those on whom wrath has fallen, and not those who have gone astray!”

First verse: “Al-hamdulillahi rabbil-‘alamiyn” - Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds

Abu Ja'far ibn Jarir said: “Al-hamdu lillahi means sincere gratitude to Allah alone, to the exclusion of all others who are worshiped besides Him, and to the exclusion of all His creatures, for the benefits with which He has blessed His slaves, and which are not subject to counted by none but Him.

(This praise and gratitude) is that He has made our organs healthy for worship, and enabled those charged with the duty of worship to fulfill His obligations through the organs bestowed. (This praise and gratitude) also because He generously endowed them in worldly life, gave them food and a prosperous life, although they did not deserve it. (This praise and gratitude) besides this and because He has directed and called them to the means leading to eternal abiding with happy tenants. And praise be to our Lord in the beginning and in the end!”

Ibn Jarir reported from al-Hakam ibn 'Umair, who met the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), that he said: “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “If you say: “Al-hamdu lillahi rabbil-'alamiyn" means you thanked Him, and may He increase you."

Ibn Majah narrated from Anas ibn Malik that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whatever good Allah bestows on (His) slave, and the slave says: “Al-hamdu lillah,” then he will certainly be given something better than what he got."

Second verse:“Ar-rahmanir-rahiym” - Gracious, Merciful

In the Sahih of Muslim from Abu Hurairah it is said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “If a believer knew how Allah can punish, then no one would ever be able to hope for His Paradise. If the infidel knew what mercy Allah has, then no one would ever lose hope in His Paradise.”

Third verse:“Maliki Yayavmiddin” – Lord (king) of the Day of Retribution

Ad-Dahhak narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that he said: “The “Day of Retribution” is a day in which no one will have power along with Him, as they were given (certain) power in this world.” He said: “The Day of Retribution is a day of reckoning for the creatures, and it is the Day of Resurrection, in which He will reward them for their deeds: if they did good, then with good, and if they did evil, then with evil. Except only those whom He forgives.” Other people from among the Companions, their followers and predecessors said the same.

Fourth verse:“Iyyaka na'budu wa iyyaka nasta'in” - We worship You alone and we pray to You alone for help

As some predecessors said: “Fatihah is the secret of the Koran, and its secret are these words: “You alone we worship and You alone we pray for help.”

The first part of the expression “You alone we worship” is a renunciation of associating partners with Allah.

And the second part, “and only from You alone do we pray for help,” means renunciation of all power and strength and trust in Allah, He is Almighty and Great.

In the hadith of Muslim from Abu Hurairah it is said that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: “Allah Almighty said: I divided the prayer between Me and My servant into two parts, and to My servant what he asked. If a slave says: “Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds,” Allah Almighty says: “My slave praised Me.” If a slave says: “To the Most Gracious and Merciful,” then Allah Almighty says: “My slave has honored Me.” If he (the slave) says: “To the king on the day of judgment,” then Allah says: “My slave has glorified Me.” If (the slave) says: “You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help,” (Allah) says: “This is what is between Me and My slave, and My slave is what he asked.” And if (the slave) says: “Lead us along the straight path, the path of those whom you have blessed, not those who are under anger, and not those who are lost,” (Allah) says: “This is for My servant, and for My servant - what he asked."

Fifth verse:“Ikhdina ssyratal-mustaqim” - Lead us to the straight path

Regarding the words “straight path”, Imam Abu Ja'far at-Tabari said that commentators are unanimous that this means a clear road that has no crookedness.

Tabarani reported that ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud said: “The straight path is the path on which the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, left us.”

Therefore, Ibn Jarir, may Allah have mercy on him, said that the best interpretation of this verse is: “Help us to be firm in what You were pleased with and in what You promoted Your servants from among those whom You have blessed, from words and deeds.” "

And this is the straight path, for the one who was assisted in what was assisted by those whom Allah favored from among the prophets, truthful men, martyrs and righteous people, he, verily, was assisted in Islam, the confirmation of the messengers, the steady adherence The Book of Allah, doing what Allah commanded and refraining from what Allah withheld, following the path of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), the path of the four caliphs and every righteous slave. And all this is the direct path.

If they ask: “How does a believer ask for guidance on the straight path every time in prayer and outside it, when he will already be characterized by this quality (guided on the straight path, that is, Islam)? Does this require achieving a result (that is, guidance on the straight path, namely, joining Islam), or not?” then the answer to it will be: No. If he did not need to ask for this guidance day and night, Allah Almighty would not have pointed it out to him. Truly, the servant (of Allah) at every time and in every situation needs Allah Almighty to strengthen and strengthen this quality of guidance on the straight path, prudence in it, strengthening this quality and constancy in it. And truly, a servant (of Allah) is not capable of bringing benefit or harm to himself unless Allah wishes it. And therefore Allah instructed him to always ask for help in prolonging it (in this capacity), as well as perseverance and assistance. And happy is the one whom Allah Almighty helped in asking for this guidance. Truly, the Almighty has guaranteed to answer the request of the one asking, especially if it is someone in a difficult situation who needs Him day and night.

Allah Almighty said:

“O you who believe! Believe in Allah and His Messenger and the Book that He sent down to His Messenger and the Book that He revealed before” (Women-136). Here Allah commanded those who believed to believe. However, this is not for achieving a result (that is, achieving, obtaining this quality of faith), but for strengthening and constancy in certain actions. And Allah knows best about this.

Sixth verse:“Syratal-lyaziyna an’amta alayhim gairil-magduubi‘alaihim valaddalin” - the path of those whom You have blessed, not those on whom anger fell, and not those who are lost

Who are those whom Allah has favored?

These are those whom Allah mentioned in Surah “Women-69-70”:

“Those who obey Allah and the Messenger will find themselves together with the prophets, the truthful men, the fallen martyrs and the righteous, whom Allah has blessed. How beautiful these satellites are! This is mercy from Allah, and it is enough that Allah knows about everything.”

Ad-Dahhak narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas: “The path of those whom You have blessed with submission to You and worship of You from among Your angels, Your prophets, truthful men, fallen martyrs and righteous people.”

And who are those on whom the wrath of Allah has fallen and those who are lost?

Imam Ahmad narrated in the Musnad through Simak ibn Harb that he heard Abbad ibn Hubaysh tell him from the words of Adiyya ibn Hatim a long hadith, which says, in particular, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Verily, those on whom wrath fell are the Jews, and those who are lost are the Christians.”

Sura 113 “Al-Falyak” (Dawn) الفلق

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that the suras “Al-Falyak” and “An-Nas” are “the best words that people who seek the protection of Allah can utter.”

Bismil-lyahi rrahmaani rrahiim.

Va min sharri gasikin izee vakab.

Wa min sharri nnaffaasaati fil-‘ukad.

Wa min sharri haasidin isee hasad.

Say: “I seek from the Lord the dawn - salvation from the evil that comes from what He created, and the evil of the darkness that has descended. From the evil of those who cast spells and the evil of the envious person, when envy matures in him” (see, Holy Koran, 113).

In a conversation with one of his companions, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) asked: “ O Abu Habis! Shall I inform you of the best words that people who seek Allah's protection can utter?? He said: " Of course, O Messenger of Allah!“In response, the Prophet Muhammad, may the Almighty bless him and greet him, read the last two surahs of the Holy Quran - “Al-Falyak” and “An-Nas” - and said: “ These are the two suras through which[People] resort to the protection of Allah”.

The Messenger of the Almighty, peace and blessings of Allah be upon Him, resorted to the protection of Allah from the evil eye of people and jinn [through prayers]. When two suras (“Al-Falyak” and “An-Nas”) were revealed through which one can resort to the protection of the Almighty, he began to repeat [only] them and abandoned all other protective prayers.

The Arabic verb "falaka" ("to split") emphasizes that it is the Almighty God who cuts through the darkness of the night when dawn comes, and also cuts through the seeds when they sprout. Only He can protect His servants from the evil of people, demons, animals and all other creations.

The Almighty emphasized that some creations bring a lot of evil. At night, people fall asleep, and evil spirits and harmful creatures roam the earth. Witches blow on knots in order to cast spells on people. And envious people want people to lose their benefits, and even make efforts to achieve this. Only Allah can protect people from the evil of the wicked and destroy their machinations, and therefore every person is obliged to resort to His protection. Envious people also include people with an evil eye, because only an envious person with a bad nature and a vicious soul can cast the evil eye.

Thus, this surah teaches Muslims to seek refuge and salvation from Allah in general and some of its manifestations in particular. It also serves as proof that witchcraft does occur and that its harm should be feared by resorting to the protection of Allah from the machinations of witches and sorcerers.

Interpretation of the meanings (tafsir) of Surah Al-Falyak

In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful!

Surah Dawn was revealed in Mecca. It consists of 5 verses. This surah is recommended to the prophet - may Allah bless him and greet him! - turn to the protection of your Lord and resort to Him, seeking refuge from any of His creations who can cause harm, and from the evil of the night when it gets dark, since at night the souls of people experience loneliness and anxiety and it is difficult to get rid of its harm and evil those wicked people who seek to sow discord among people and undermine the connection between them, and from the evil of the envious person who wants other slaves of Allah to be deprived of the mercy and prosperity that Allah has endowed them with.

113:1. Say: “I seek refuge with the Lord of the dawn, which comes after the passing of the night, asking Him for protection.

    113:2. from the evilness of those from Allah’s creations who are capable of evil, and from evil which only He who has power over them can protect;

    113:3. from the evil of the night, when its darkness becomes gloomy;

    113:4. from the evil of one who seeks to sow discord between people;

113:5. from the evil of an envious person who wants other people to lose favor and prosperity.”
