School - library: active forms of interaction. Modern aspects of interaction between children's libraries and educational institutions in Orel Forms of interaction between school libraries and children's libraries

There are three main values on Earth - bread, so that the people will always be healthy and strong, a woman, so that the thread of life does not break, and a book, so that the connection of times does not end.
At all times, the book has been and remains one of the best means of educating a person. Today's world is different. In modern Russia, the way people engage with culture is changing: reading is being replaced by electronic media.

I'll start with a fact that a librarian friend shared with me. On the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Agnia Barto, the librarian came to the first grade to tell the children about this poet. She decided to preface her story with the game “I’m starting - continue.” With full confidence that the schoolchildren knew Barto’s poems well and would answer in chorus, she began: “Our Tanya is crying loudly...”. But contrary to expectations, there was no chorus. Perplexed, the librarian uttered a line from another poem: “They dropped Mishka on the floor...”. The class remained silent. “The bull walks, sways, sighs as he goes...” Nobody picked up these lines either.

After all, the trouble is not that a child who lived to be seven years old does not know Barto’s lines, but that along with these quatrains he did not experience pity for the fallen Mishka, he did not have the moral impulse to cure him, hold him close, console him . He did not experience what I experienced, remembering my first reading impressions associated with the poems of Agnia Barto. Now I am amazed at what rich content I put into these simple poems back then.

Today there is a lot of talk about reading. You can’t force someone to read, you have to get them excited about reading! Arousing interest in reading the best books and reading them with talent is the task of adults. I, as a teacher, see my participation in this process in creating favorable conditions for the spiritual development of a young reader, introducing him to reading. This is the creation of a single reading space with productive interaction between school, library, and family. My current students are primary school graduates. At the end of the last academic year, my class was recognized as the winner in the “Most Reading Class” category at the lyceum. The previous edition took first place in the city competition “The Most Reading Class” among 6th graders.

Where do I start working with each new group of students to develop reading activity? From a study of the educational potential of the family in which children are raised. At the parent meeting, I conduct a survey of parents, which allows us to identify what place reading occupies in the family, whether there are home libraries, whether there are traditions of family reading, and parents’ reading preferences for children’s reading.

The majority of parents in my class chose classical literature. This is very important: the higher the level of the work being read, the higher the meaning of reading. All that is most bright, pure, lofty and humane in a person arises initially from the voice of a reading mother, and later in independent reading.

Thus, in many families in my class, conditions were initially created for the successful formation of a child – a reader. V.A. Sukhomlinsky argued: “The school becomes a center of spiritual life if teachers give lessons that are interesting both in content and form... But there are wonderful brilliant lessons where there is something else wonderful, in addition to the lessons where they exist and are applied the most diverse forms of student development outside of lessons.”

The first assistant in introducing my students to reading was the central children's library. For this purpose, the “Talented Readers” project was developed, which is being implemented in close contact with the librarians of the Central Children's Library and with parents. After analyzing the capabilities of school programs and studying modern technologies, we built a system of work to develop an active reader.

The Talented Readers project includes:

  • Hours of communication with a book.
  • Various forms of extracurricular reading classes: holiday activity, reading conference, oral journal, literary lounge, literary ring.
  • Library and bibliographic clocks using multimedia technologies.
  • Excursions and visits to book exhibitions.
  • Essay and drawing competitions.
  • “Best Readers of the Year” competitions.
  • "Grandfather's School of Local History."
  • Reader's Choice Contest “My Favorite Book.”
  • Course “Kids study the law.” "Me and my rights."
  • Club "Young Library Helpers".

The talent of a reader begins with the talent of a librarian. Librarians of the Central Library Ban O.N., Kondratyeva L.G., Lykova I.A., Richter T.G. and Soldatova N.A. masterfully mastering the methods of nurturing reading talent, they find new ways to reach the reader, think about the future of Russia, its spiritual wealth and intellectual potential. Their classes within the framework of the “Talented Readers” project were distinguished by their original approaches and solutions; they were aimed at recommending the best books without edification and at awakening the child’s desire to read good, not bad. In the person of librarians, I found like-minded people in shaping the soul of a child, providing food for the mind and heart.

This painstaking work has produced positive results. Our undisputed priority in promoting reading is original book exhibitions. A beautiful, brightly designed exhibition always attracts the attention of children. The children visited a lot of survey exhibitions. These are exhibitions for the 80th anniversary of V. Bianchi, for the 100th anniversary of A. Lindgren (“The Sorceress from Stockholm”), “My Laughter” (for the 55th anniversary of N. Nosov), “What is in the briefcase?”, “Miracles with all over the world”, “From the depths of centuries”, “Forest ABC”, “Visiting a fairy tale”, “Kingdom of Adventure”, “There is no more popular book in the world”, “Leafing through the pages of a book - we travel around the edge”, “I choose health ", "At the beginning of my life I remember school", Book exhibitions and dialogues are accompanied by recommendations and reviews of new periodicals. Particular attention is paid to exhibitions dedicated to anniversaries. The children got acquainted with the works of B. Zhitkov, V. Chaplina, E. Permyak, A. Lindgren, S. Marshak, E. Uspensky, A. Tolstoy, M. Prishvin, S. Mikhalkov. True reading is reading, which, according to M. Tsvetaeva, “is participation in creativity.” Children enjoy taking part in exhibitions that they create themselves. These exhibitions are about mood. We suggest putting books on it that correspond to the questions asked.

This book…

  • I re-read often...
  • My mother (father, grandmother) opened it for me...
  • I read when I’m sad, happy, lonely, when I want to think…
  • I always laugh when I read...
  • In this book I recognize myself and my friends...
  • I read to better understand my parents...

As part of this exhibition “Such different children's books”, a competition “Book Advertising” was held, where children had to talk about their favorite book in the most interesting way possible.

Not every reader will receive a personal exhibition! Therefore, the benefit exhibition became a reward and encouragement for active children, who are distinguished by their diverse reading interests and breadth of outlook. Such exhibitions are good advertising for everyone else - after all, children are more likely to listen to the recommendations of their peers.

Educational hour “The Sami are the Reindeer People”, quizzes “Local History Kaleidoscope” and “Chakhkli on the Field of Miracles”, folklore hour “Games and Toys of the Northern Peoples”, literary hour “The Tale of Oktyabrina Voronova”, information hour “Walking around Monchegorsk, trip to the homeland of the Sami - the village of Lovozero, a visit to the Lapland Nature Reserve as part of the program "Grandfather's School of Local History", contributed to the introduction of a growing person into the spiritual atmosphere of the place from which his life begins. The children compiled their impressions in the form of essays “The History of My Street”, “The Homeland of the Sami”, “On Protected Paths”.

Participation in the “Kids Study the Law” program allowed children to read many works of various genres where the rights of literary heroes were violated. The classes contributed to the development of personality, were held in group form, children united by interests, prepared creative tasks and performances.

My children are active participants in the literary festivals “A Happy Day with Sergei Mikhalkov”, “We are all from Lenneberg” (on the 100th anniversary of A. Lindgren), “One New Year’s Eve”, “About our little brothers”, “In visiting the brownie Kuzi.”

The competition “New Adventures of Baron Munchausen” was very interesting. After reading the stories of R. E. Raspe about the most honest man in the world - Baron Munchausen, the boys decided to compete with him in honesty, and told their own, completely true stories.

An assistant in developing the creative activity of my fourth-graders was Kir Bulychev, a favorite writer for children, known to them from a series of books about Alice, a guest from the future. The children enjoyed the parade of planets they created and presented in the “Secrets of New Planets” project.

A reading conference in the form of a tournament of literary heroes on the topic “You need to have fun in order to study well” (based on the works of L. Geraskina “In the Land of Unlearned Lessons” and I. Pivovarova “Stories of Lucy Sinitsyna, a student of 3 “A” class”) contributed to the development of independence , outlook, provided the child with the opportunity to self-realize as a competent reader.

The “Eighth Wonder of the World” holiday, dedicated to Mother’s Day, gave a joyful mood and a charge of vigor to everyone who took part in its celebration. On this wonderful day, kind words were dedicated to the closest person by regular library readers, fourth-graders who came to the holiday with their mothers. Children and their mothers learned about the history of the holiday in Russia and other countries, and about the traditions of celebrating Mother's Day. And with what trepidation, with what excitement, with what love the children, participants of the city computer creativity competition “Merry Family”, made presentations dedicated to the people closest to them.

In the third grade, a club “Young Library Helpers” was created. Reading leaders give reports on what they have read, hold book discussions, and introduce new fiction.

At the end of the school year, the library hosts awards for the most active readers in various categories: “The most active reader”, “The most attentive reader”, “The most thoughtful reader”. The number of such readers is growing every year.

Undoubtedly, the formation of a reading person is impossible if his family is not one. It was in my parents that I found reliable helpers who deepened my love for books and independent reading. I introduced the parents to the main ideas of the Talented Readers project. Each parent was given a colorful booklet about the children's library, and was given advice and recommendations in choosing literature for home reading. The parent activists of the class created the book “How to teach a child to read” (advice for parents). Each family was given a special reminder “Teach your child to love books.” With the participation of parents, an extracurricular reading corner has been created in the class, in which book exhibitions are organized, a recommendation list is given, and advice is given to the reader.

Now I can say with confidence that the result of three years of work was not in vain, my students read, read with pleasure. My words are confirmed by the results of a micro-study conducted by members of the scientific society “Young Erudite”. According to the results of the survey, the book takes its rightful place in the list of daily leisure activities of students in my class. Their spiritual life is not dominated by cartoons and comics. The moral guidelines set out in fiction are the basis for the spiritual growth of my students. This form of joint work between the library, school, and family turned out to be effective and productive; the work was carried out systematically, organized and purposefully during the four years of children’s education in primary school and contributed to the development of the child’s personality and provided support for the child’s spiritual life. In our age, you need to become a full-fledged reader in childhood, otherwise life may not leave time for this.

FROM THE EXPERIENCE OF JOINT WORK WITH THE LIBRARY

THEM. R. ROZHDESTVNSKY "IN THE REVIVAL OF TRADITIONS OF SPIRITUAL AND MORAL EDUCATION"

Roitblat Tatyana Fedorovna

It is not the flesh, but the spirit that is corrupted in our days,

And the man is desperately sad...

He is rushing towards the light from the shadows of the night

And, having found the light, it grumbles and rebels...

F. Tyutchev

Spiritual and moral education consists of many aspects: the education of patriotism and citizenship, the instillation of family values, the education of love for one’s small Motherland, one’s land, the prevention of bad habits, and the instillation of a desire for a healthy lifestyle. Spirituality and morality are the most important, basic characteristics of a person.

Reading is an integral part of our life. To paraphrase a well-known expression, we can say: “tell me what you read, and I will tell you who you are.” It is difficult to overestimate the role of libraries and reading in the process of spiritual and moral education of the younger generation. Spirituality is inseparable from morality, and morality, in turn, is directly related to religion.

The beginning of the 21st century was marked by close attention to the problem of reading. The age of computerization and the Internet has arrived.

Today, more than ever, the social demand of Russian society for a spiritual, moral, active person - a patriot and citizen of Russia - is obvious. We think no one will doubt that the basis for shaping the image of the new Russia, a country with a developed civil society and a competitive economy, should be high morality.

Unfortunately, the majority of our pupils are deprived of an elementary example of good manners and morality, even among their families. In children coming to our center, there is a lack of direct emotional communication between the child and close adults, especially with the mother, which has a negative impact on his mental development. Under the influence of insufficient or impaired communication, preschoolers become fearful, lack of initiative, and incurious, which is a characteristic feature of the center’s pupils.

These children experience difficulties in the process of perception, which, first of all, manifests itself in the fact that they do not perceive the educational material presented to them with sufficient completeness. There are deficiencies in all types of memory, a significant lag in the development of mental activity, children experience difficulties in analysis, synthesis, comparison, difficulty in orientation in space and time.

The speech of pupils is qualitatively different from the speech of their peers living in families: they have a poor vocabulary (especially active ones), they poorly master empirical grammatical generalizations, therefore, many incorrect grammatical constructions are found in their speech.

We would like to note that the National Program for the Support and Development of Reading is aimed at “increasing the cultural competence of Russian citizens through increased reading activity.

All social institutions are called upon to participate in the implementation of this program. First of all, it is family, school and library. In our case, for the guys, the Social Rehabilitation Center “Harmony” plays the role of a “family”. It is these “three pillars” that should help “increase the intellectual potential of the nation, become an important instrument for the preservation and development of Russian culture, support and increase the wealth of the native language and contribute to solving vital problems and achieving the strategic goals of the country’s development.”

Analyzing methods of attracting children to reading, taking into account the negative phenomena of our time and attempts to overcome the reading crisis, we developed a project of joint activity with the library named after. R. Rozhdestvensky, whose motto is: “The library is a home open to every child,” aimed at creating harmonious conditions for the spiritual and moral education of children in order to form a growing personality in all the diversity of spiritual interests and needs.

The goal of the project is to organize children's free time and attract them to reading.

Tasks set in the project:

    Creating conditions that shape the reading and information culture of children and adolescents.

    Development of activities and educational programs aimed at introducing children to reading and culture.

The experience of interacting with the library in reviving traditions of spiritual and moral education among children and youth has been measured for more than one year. The forms of work are very diverse.

Forms of working with children:

    Classes, discussions, conversations, round tables, project activities.

    Creative artistic activity of children.

    Holding joint holidays.

    Thematic evenings with an aesthetic focus.

    Organization of exhibitions.

    Theatrical performances of spiritual and moral content.

    Creative evenings, meetings with interesting people.

It is very important to create coziness and comfort in the library, to arouse children’s interest in the book. Using various forms of work and taking into account different age categories, the following areas were developed:

    Spiritual and educational:

    Screening of films about the spiritual revival of our country and the city of Omsk

    Organization of holidays of the secular and church calendars with presentations and feature films

    Carrying out events aimed at studying Russian traditions and rituals

    Folklore festival of the Ukrainian cultural center “Cipiyklin”, dedicated to “St. Nicholas Day”.

This direction allows children to expand their knowledge about the history of Russia and learn new things about the traditions and culture of our people.

2. Educational and recreational (events):

    "Childhood scorched by war"

    "I have the honor"

    "Journey to the Land of Good Deeds"

    "Kingdom of Law, Kingdom of Lawlessness"

    On the prevention of bad habits “Three steps leading down” (drug addiction, alcoholism and tobacco addiction) with watching documentary videos

New information technologies have become a means of attracting children to the library. “Talking Books” will allow you to listen to the best children's works performed by famous artists. Using the Internet we find the necessary works.

    Documentary film “Leningrad in Struggle”

    Watching the feature film “Once upon a time there was a girl”

    "Animal Life in Winter"

    "Happy childhood in the land of Moomins"

    Cultural and educational (events):

    “Omsk is my favorite city”

    My city is a little bit of Russia"

    "On the roads of fairy tales"

    "Quiz on Pushkin's fairy tales"

    "Tales of the Peoples of the World"

    “Favorite heroes of Andersen’s fairy tales”

    “At Lukomorye” a holiday based on the works of A. S. Pushkin

    A holiday based on the work of the poet and fellow countryman T. Belozerov “The Forest Weeping Baby”.

    Meeting with children's writers Svetlana and Nikolai Ponomarev and their books.

Along with traditional methods of work in the library, we also use non-traditional ones: introducing children to books through games, theatrical performances of works by children's writers.

    Meeting with children's writer Olga Kolpakova “Writers for Children”

    Celebration “The Eternal Library Profession”

    “Merry recess” - a holiday for the Day of Knowledge

    Watching the film “First-Grade”

    “Popularization of the work of Robert Rozhdestvensky “Moments, moments, moments...”

    event “Celestial Pioneers” for Cosmonautics Day.

The experience of cooperation with the library system suggests that exhibitions, meetings with writers, artists, and veterans of the Great Patriotic War, organized not only by schools, but also by libraries, have a positive effect on introducing children to reading. And reading is one of the foundations for the formation of a citizen’s personality.

The spiritual education of young citizens should be carried out using the best examples of domestic and world artistic culture. A formed moral principle elevates a person. The task of our institution is to reveal the abilities of everyone, to educate a decent person, a patriot and a citizen capable of living in the modern world.

We hope that in the near future our country will again become the most reading country in the world.

Key words : interaction, childhood reading, forms of extracurricular activity

In the Federal State Educational Standards, reading is considered as one of the ways to work with information and a means of educating and developing a student. Today we regret to note that reading takes up less and less space in the lives of our children. It is being replaced by television and video, computers and much more.

Reading remains the most important tool for education and personal development. Reading forms the qualities of a developed and socially valuable person. A person who can grasp the whole, adequately assess the situation, quickly make the right decision, have a larger memory capacity, speak better, formulate more accurately, and write more freely.

Achieving effective results in guiding children's reading is possible only in close cooperation between the library, school and family. Three components - school, family, library - create the environment that shapes the Reading Person, the 21st Century Person.

In modern society, problems in the field of children's reading, unfortunately, exist. This is proven by the fact that today specialists from different fields of science are working on this problem: librarians, teachers, psychologists, higher school teachers, etc.

The topic of children's reading at the present stage is most deeply studied by sociologists and psychologists Chudinova V.P., Golubeva E.I., Malakhova N.G. For the analysis of this issue, the works of Smetannikova N.N., Samokhina M.M., Kharitonova O. are important. I., in which the socio-psychological foundations of interest and motives for reading in childhood were studied. Interesting is the experience of I. I. Tikhomirova’s project work, which substantiated the foundations of training parents as active assistants and librarians and teachers in introducing children to books and reading.

M. M. Bezrukikh believes that the foundation of the problem is not that there are no books, and the point is not that children do not want to read, but that they are poorly taught to read. That is, the child does not develop adequate, physiologically appropriate reading skills. As M. M. Bezrukikh notes, the task of teaching children to read at the initial stage is to teach the child to understand what he is reading. M. M. Bezrukikh, having studied the reasons for the loss of interest of modern children in reading, identified three main reasons:

  • Poor teaching of a child to read;
  • not maintaining the child’s interest in reading;
  • the need to switch from reading aloud to reading “to oneself.”

According to M. M. Bezrukikh, it is necessary to explain to the child how to correctly switch from reading aloud to reading “to oneself”, be patient and work with him for some time, but as M. M. Bezrukikh claims, in Russia, in modern stage, this is not done[3, p.21].

One of the factors in the problem of children's reading in Russia, as S.A. Denisova notes, is upbringing in the family. If reading is an important part of the lives of adult family members, the child picks up and absorbs it. The impressions received in childhood remain for life and are realized by children in their own family.

Thus, we can conclude that many studies in the field of children's reading are still relevant for the teaching and library community.

For many years, methodological associations of primary school teachers, the humanitarian cycle of the Mar-Kyuel Secondary School, and the librarian of the rural branch have been working together to develop students’ interest in reading.

We present to your attention some accumulated experience in organizing interaction between schools, libraries, and families. We identified the following areas of work for interaction between the library and the school:

Formation of reading needs;

Development of reading and information culture;

Training in the basics of KBZ, the ability to work with information.

Forms of work:

Implementation of joint projects, elective course programs, extracurricular activities;

Development of a list of literature for extracurricular readings;

Joint events, promotions, competitions that attract attention to reading;

Extracurricular activities;

Organization and conduct of CPD.

For the full moral and aesthetic development of the individual and the formation of a reading culture in unity with various forms of extracurricular work, extracurricular activities in libraries, in additional education institutions, work is carried out with the families of students.

Forms of work:

Joint projects, promotions;

Parent meetings;

Workshop;

Competitions “The Most Reading Family”;

Family participation in correspondence and distance quizzes.

Thanks to the joint activities of schools, families, and libraries, they took part in a competition of creative projects under the target program of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) “Creating conditions for the spiritual and cultural development of the peoples of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)” with the project “Volunteers of book culture.”

The goal of the project was to attract new readers and form a positive image of reading in them by achieving the most comfortable environment in the library, promoting high-quality literature that fosters morality, citizenship, patriotism and love for the native land; development of family reading. The main goal of the project was to contribute to the education of a generation of spiritually and morally active citizens - volunteers of book culture.

Within the framework of the project, it was planned to carry out a series of activities aimed at achieving the above goal:

1. Conducting a scientific and practical conference “Maar-Kuelum – min doidum” for further study of the history of nasleg.

2. Release of the Panorama+ newsletter.

3. Conducting an elective course “Bibliokaleidoscope” for schoolchildren at the library.

4. Creating favorable conditions for spending leisure time in the library for the purpose of viewing and reading both traditional and electronic media, especially on legal issues.

The goal of pedagogical interaction between school, library and family is the formation of independent reading activity of students, the development of creative potential, communication skills, which ensure the development of the student’s personality. The project “My Family During the War” was implemented, the authors of which were students in grades 7-8. The goal of the project was not only to study the history of their native village during the Great Patriotic War with the study of the history of their family, but also to create a book about relatives, written by the students themselves

The project was implemented according to the following plan:

The project participants were divided into the following groups:

  • Group 1 - collection and processing of materials
  • Group 2 - development of the forced march route “Mar-Kuel - Borduolakh”, in places where monuments are installed
  • Group 3 - computer layout of materials.
  • Thematic classroom hours dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Victory:
  • “Our fellow countrymen are war and labor veterans”, “Monuments in our village”,
  • "War in the fate of my family."
  • Publication of essays in the school newspaper. Students’ essay “My family in the fight for Victory.”
  • Action of good deeds. Timurov exits.
  • March - a rush to the places where monuments to fellow warriors are erected.
  • School festival “Salute, Victory!» . Literary and artistic montage “My family is a piece of Victory.”
  • Victory Day. Meeting with grandparents - veterans of the home front at a ceremonial meeting. Participation in a military parade.
  • Memory watch. Torchlight procession on May 9
  • Military sports game "Zarnitsa"»

The result of the project was the publication of the books “My Family During the War”, “No One is Forgotten, Nothing is Forgotten”. A presentation of new books took place, where veterans of the home front and labor were invited. Live communication with the “heroes” of the book became an unforgettable moment of the event.

A teacher is a person called upon to stimulate a student to self-education through satisfying his reading needs. The types of extracurricular activities to attract students' interest in reading are extremely diverse. They are divided into three large groups:

  • permanent extracurricular activities (clubs, elective courses, information stand) running throughout the academic year;
  • episodic (quizzes, competitions, tournaments of experts, olympiads, performances based on proverbs, phraseological phrases, fables;
  • combined forms of extracurricular work - a week of Russian language and literature, a decade of Slavic writing. They usually include competitions, reports, quizzes, lectures, conversations, evenings, defense of presentations and much more.

Every year the Week of Russian Language and Literature, the Week of Children's Books, a decade dedicated to the Day of Slavic Culture and Literature and the All-Russian Day of Libraries are held. The result of these events is the identification of the most reading class, the most reading student of the class and school, who are awarded certificates with appropriate nominations.

Combined forms of extracurricular work are actively used during Children's Book Week. Every year, the organizers of the week try to diversify the forms of events so that children do not lose interest in books and the library. Children's book week for primary school students was held under the title “Korney Chukovsky - 125”.

Program of the week:

1st day. Introduction to the week's program.

2nd day. Class hours: conversation about the life and work of the writer, loud reading of the fairy tale “Telephone” and an excerpt from the fairy tale “Doctor Aibolit.”

3rd day. Exhibition of drawings based on the writer's fairy tales.

4th day. Quiz “Tales of Chukovsky”

5th day. Literary matinee “The Confusion of Grandfather Korney”

6th day. Summing up, awarding prizes.

Pupils from grades 5-6 took part in the matinee; they were assisted by activists from grade 11 (members of the editorial board of the school newspaper “Bulletin of the School”). They presented two fairy tales by Korney Chukovsky - “Confusion” and “Fedorino’s Grief”.

Thus, such events not only awaken students’ interest in reading, but also the continuity of generations continues - high school students were presenters, middle school students represented the heroes of the fairy tale, and junior schoolchildren were both spectators and participants.

For first-graders, an annual traditional ceremony of initiation into reading is organized with a tour of the library, a library lesson “Enrolling in the Library” and a theatrical performance “The Kingdom of Books - the Wise Kingdom”, during which literary characters clearly show the rules for handling a book and conduct a quiz game “Guess who owns this thing?” and at the end they give books with bookmarks to young readers. Young members of the circle acted as literary heroes.

Occasional extracurricular activities include quizzes, competitions, tournaments of experts, Olympiads, dramatizations of proverbs, phraseological units, fables.

A themed evening “Winged Words” was held, dedicated to dramatizations of phraseological units of the Russian language. Schoolchildren from grades 5 to 11 took part in the evening. Each class received the task in advance to reveal the content of three phraseological units through their implementation on stage; the assessment took into account the intelligibility of the audience's perception of the shown phraseological units. The guys coped with the task, the audience guessed some phraseological units right away, but sometimes they could not accurately reproduce the phraseological units, in some cases the numbers shown were not guessed, but were remembered.

Thus, there is hope that the goal of the theme evening, if not completely, then partially, was achieved - what was demonstrated is better remembered than what was heard.

In the Year of the Family, together with the school library, the competition “The Most Reading Family” was organized for primary school students and their parents and for middle school students and their parents.

Competition program:

  1. Conversation “The role of books in raising children.”
  2. Review "My Home Library".
  3. Stages of the competition for primary school students and their parents:

Tales of Charles Perrault;

Almost Burime (based on poems by classic children's writers Korney Chukovsky and Samuil Marshak);

From the history of our native land;

Classics of Yakut literature (based on the book by K. Tuyaarsky “Taabyrynna taayits”);

Blitz tournament.

4. Stages of the competition for middle school students and their parents: - Fairy tales and genre fiction;

Yakut and Russian literature;

History of the native land;

Art. Culture.

Blitz tournament.

At the beginning of the competition, participants talked about leisure time in the family, about their home library and reviewed “My very first book” and “My favorite book” from their home library. 8 families took part. Each family received memorable books about their participation in the competition.

As part of the Federal State Educational Standard, primary school teachers have developed and conducted extracurricular activities “Learning to read successfully”, “What a delight these fairy tales are”. The library taught an elective course “Guiding Reading” for students in grades 5-6.

The children become familiar with the culture of reading, the basics of LBZ, learn about the work of writers and poets, and also actively take part in events organized by the library. During the elective course, children are given an interpretation of phraseological units, five-minute games are held “Literary Lotto”, “Whose portfolio is heavier”, on in which the children are given various tasks. For example: the names of writers and their works are written on separate cards; the children must choose them correctly. Such tasks instill in children the skill of paying attention to the authors of the work. During the game “Whose Briefcase is Heavier,” the task is given, for example, to write nouns starting with the letter E within a minute. The winner is the one who not only picked up a lot of words, but also wrote them correctly. So, in classes in the form of a game, children are taught the skills of mastering the Russian language.

In order to study the history of the people, a scientific and practical conference “Maar-Kuelum – min doidum” was held. The conference was organized by a school and a library. Students, teachers, and parents of the school spoke at the conference. The conference worked in 7 sections:

  • Village enterprises
  • The villagers are proud of them
  • Fellow countrymen writers
  • Toponymy
  • Dynasties
  • Demography

28 reports were presented. Participation at the conference of labor and home front veteran E.N. Petrova, teaching labor veteran M.N. Maksimova. increased interest in the event. Maria Nikolaevna's speech about the local writer Rudolf Dorofeev attracted the attention of the jury.

Thus, the painstaking and creative work of the librarian, teacher, and parents certainly bears fruit - it strengthens the contact of the children's library with the school and family, and has a positive effect on the reading activity and culture of children. The cooperation of the school, parents and the library convinces not only of the usefulness of reading a book, but also forces them to look at the public library as an organizer of interesting and useful leisure time, a place of informal communication, a center for consulting on issues of children's literature, and pedagogy of children's reading.

The joint fruitful work of the school, family and children's library in this direction has shown the following results:

  • the number of readers in libraries has increased;
  • the level of motivation and reading culture has significantly increased;
  • thanks to extracurricular activities and library lessons, schoolchildren were able to improve their speech skills, enrich their language, learned to interact in a team, and strengthened good relationships between children and parents;
  • students take an active part in school and ulus, regional, republican research and development competitions, essay competitions, and quizzes and take prizes.

Achieving sustainable success with prospects for the future is possible through close interaction between family, library, school and support at the local and regional levels.

Modern aspects of interaction between children's libraries and educational institutions in Orel

The 21st century is the information age, when knowledge acquires special value. It is impossible to imagine today's student without constantly replenishing his knowledge base, which means constant interaction with the flow of various information. Who will help you understand and teach you how to navigate the complex labyrinths of the information space? The answer is obvious - it's a library.

At all times, students went to the library for the necessary information, and libraries always responded promptly to the changing interests and requests of children and adolescents. And today, becoming authoritative centers of education and educational support, providing teachers and students with information, libraries play an important role in the development of education.

It is no secret that nowadays the motivation for teenagers to visit libraries is, as a rule, driven by educational needs. Several types can be distinguished - the need for text to prepare for a lesson, the need for documents containing information on a topic to complete an assignment in various subjects (essays, reports, messages, etc.). These trends require changes in the methods, forms and means of teaching various types of cognitive activities, since the importance of business reading is increasing, and reading as a way of relaxation is being actively replaced by television and computer games. But the book continues to play a special role in the formation and development of a person. Therefore, today it is necessary to pay more attention to activating the reading activity of schoolchildren. According to doctors, reading traditional books on paper is a more physiological process for children and adolescents.

Librarians, in developing students’ interest in learning and providing assistance to teachers and parents, offer a wide selection of information sources. In the Central Children's Library named after. and in the branch libraries of the Municipal Educational Institution “CBS of Orel”, students of general education institutions receive not only books and periodicals on any topic, but also the opportunity to study independently using a computer. The Internet is often used as the main source of information. What made it popular was its accessibility and the ability to obtain information on almost any issue. Focusing on the latest electronic technologies, library staff pay first of all attention to the quality and ethical content of information products, encourage students to search, evaluate, use information from various sources in order to compare and think, and have their own opinions. But in the library, the book still comes first.

2010 has been declared the Year of the Teacher. One of the main tasks for the Central Children's Library named after. and children's libraries - branches for this period is to strengthen cooperation with educational institutions, provide assistance to the educational process, and contribute to strengthening the prestige of the teaching profession. One of the important areas of work of libraries is information support and provision of advisory assistance to teachers on issues of children's literature and children's reading. In the Central Children's Hospital named after. a card index of group and mass information is maintained, methodological manuals are published: “Playing Mathematics”, “Journey to Pushkin’s State”, “Lessons of Mercy and Kindness”, “Playing with Children - Developing the Mind”. Recommended summer reading lists are compiled for schoolchildren of different age groups. The release of the booklet “Wise Commandments of Folk Pedagogy” is planned.

Our colleagues - librarians of the city's school libraries - do not go unnoticed. Training seminars are held for them. In the past academic year, on the basis of the library named after. a seminar “Children's Library - Information Center on Childhood Issues” was held and together with the library named after. Specialist Day “Problems and prospects for organizing patriotic education in the system of interaction of municipal institutions.” A seminar “Children's library as the most important segment of the educational process” is planned for the next academic year. In accordance with the profile of the seminar, methodological manuals, digests, recommendation lists, etc. are prepared and distributed.

In order for the joint activities of libraries and educational institutions to be systematic, cooperation agreements are concluded, plans are developed that are coordinated with educational institutions, and special programs are drawn up. As you know, in the library. Since 2007, the “Developmental Reading Center” has been operating, the work of which is planned on the basis of the comprehensive program “Growing with Books”. The program involves the interaction of librarians, teachers, children, parents, and psychologists.

The organization of joint activities of teachers and librarians occurs through various methods and various forms that meet the age and individual characteristics of students. Thus, as part of the program, extracurricular reading lessons are held for primary school students in schools No. 2 and No. 23 under the title “Cool Extracurricular”. Such lessons have long been practiced in the library, their goal is not only to familiarize students with the best examples of children's literature, but also to try to teach how to work with text, that is, to educate a thoughtful reader. The topic is agreed upon with the teacher.

The forms of lessons are varied. These are conversations dedicated to significant dates and the work of writers, literary rings, travel games, KVNs. For example, this academic year the following events were held: a literary ring based on the fairy tales of Charles Perrault and a travel game based on the works of Andersen; Writer's Hours were held dedicated to the works of Nikolai Nosov, Evgeny Charushin, Boris Zhitkov. Schoolchildren took part in a KVN based on the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm. The primary task of such lessons, as indeed of any event, is to give children new knowledge, expand their reading range, and promote the development of speech and forms of communication.

In the library. joint
holidays, the organizers and participants of which, along with librarians, are teachers and parents. For example, the teacher and parents of second-graders from school No. 2 took part in the preparation of the New Year’s holiday “Merry Masks Carnival,” and the matinee “Different mothers are needed, different mothers are important,” dedicated to March 8, was held with the participation of a teacher and parents of grade 1 “A” at school . No. 29.

Branch No. 13 named after. A. M. Gorky has been working closely with school-lyceum No. 4 and school No. 27 for many years. At the request of teachers, events are developed for them on various topics, Lessons of courage, Instructive class hours, business games, etc. are held. They are regulars literary and local history lounge of the library, schoolchildren constantly meet with interesting people of the city.

At branch No. 14 named after. There has been a long-standing cooperation with lyceums No. 1 and No. 22. Students of these schools are regular participants in events held by the library. It should be noted that recently children themselves have been submitting ideas about the form and theme of the next meetings. Interesting research work is also carried out in the library. One class was selected and a special program “Learning with Passion” was developed for it. And for the past four years, librarians have been observing how children change, what emotional feelings this or that book, this or that event evokes in them.

Developing students' interest in learning, librarians offer a wide selection of information sources, putting into practice bold and timely ideas: organizing new types of services, developing and implementing projects, introducing innovative work models.

Branch No. 15 has been actively cooperating with school No. 20 named after for many years. Gurtieva. In the last academic year, grade 6 "B" took part in the regional children's patriotic action "From Eagle to Berlin", dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Great Victory, following which they took 3rd place. As part of the action, several events were held, organized by the library together with the class teacher, which were necessary for working on assignments.

In the practice of the Central Children's Hospital named after. I have experience in conducting classes on spiritual and moral topics. The series of classes was specially developed for the 7th grade of school No. 26, and was conducted by a member of the Russian Writers' Union.

In the city's children's libraries, work is underway to provide career guidance to school graduates. During the academic year, book exhibitions are organized, screenings and reviews of literature are held, and meetings with representatives of various professions and educational institutions of the city are held. Together with the teacher, the range of interests of schoolchildren is determined and a series of career guidance classes is developed.

In the library. Krylov publishes express information for those who are studying, are going to take exams and are faced with a choice: which educational institution to choose, what are the conditions for admission and training. A screening of “The magazine will help you choose a profession” took place, and presentations of professions were held (“Economic Miracle” - about the professions of a manager, marketer, accountant). Ninth graders at school No. 29 visited the Center for Professional Self-Determination “Abiturient”, operating on the basis of branch No. 1 named after. Turgenev. They also became participants in the “Tricks of the Trade” evening meeting. Representatives of medical professions, as well as teachers of the medical college, spoke to the schoolchildren. The Lesson - discussion "Profession for a person or a person for a profession" was a success, in which tenth-graders from the school took part. No. 26. An educational hour “Programmed People” is planned for the next academic year, which will talk about the profession of a programmer.

Helping teenagers study and understand themselves as individuals, teach them to get along with each other, and learn the laws of the collective and society - these are the goals of classes with a psychologist. They were organized for the 7th grade of school No. 29 and were held during the school year. The topics of the lessons, agreed upon with the class teacher, are varied: “A modern boy, what is he like?”, “Living with wolves, howling like a wolf?” No less interesting topics are planned for the next academic year: “A sharp tone is a sign of strength and straightforwardness?”, “Difficulties of adolescence, or Who are you laughing at?” It's no secret that the development of children's reading directly depends on their parents' reading. Therefore, the library also demonstrates its pedagogical function in the sphere of individual communication with parents and their consultation. In the Central Children's Hospital named after. The “Lecture Hall for Parents” continues to operate. The topics of the classes are varied: “Read for yourself - read to children”, “At the origins of a creative personality”, “The wisdom of education”. Supporting the value of reading is the goal of the bibliographer’s speeches at parent-teacher meetings in schools. Parents are invited to review the latest children's literature, literature on joint leisure activities, literature with psychological and pedagogical content, as well as information and bibliographic aids published by the library.

Librarians from Branch No. 16 come to parent meetings at schools No. 12, 17, and 34 to give talks on “Reading in the Family” and reviews on the work of modern children’s writers.

All this helps parents decide on the formation of their child’s reading range, as well as find answers to pressing questions in the field of education. Children with disabilities are not left unattended either. Pupils of auxiliary school No. 14 became participants in the “Beauty Saving the World” project, all activities of which were coordinated with teachers. As part of the project, the month “I am beginning my journey to a beautiful, distant place” was held. Schoolchildren took part in a developmental lesson conducted by an art school teacher, meetings took place with a children's poet and artist of the Oryol Puppet Theater, and students of the music school named after. B. S. Kalinnikov prepared a musical gift. The month ended with the charity event “The soul collects light drop by drop.” The library staff managed to create a friendly, relaxed atmosphere - as a result, the children happily participated in various literary competitions, a cartoon quiz, and at the end everyone received gifts.

Like-minded people

We invited directors of children's and youth libraries to respond to the questions raised by the topic of this issue. Below are their responses and reflections. We hope that the newspaper's readers will discuss these materials with colleagues. We will be grateful to you for continuing the conversation.
Participants of the correspondence meeting: Nina Georgievna Elfimova, director of the central library for children and youth in Novouralsk; Natalya Stepanovna Volkova, director of the regional children's library named after. V.A. Kaverina, Pskov; Nina Nikolaevna Tsyganova, director of the regional youth library in Lipetsk. Questions were asked by the newspaper “Library at School”

The children's library is...

– A children’s library is an area of peace and joy, creativity and love for the world, faith in oneself and one’s uniqueness, the right to free access to information, the opportunity to enjoy reading and communicating with other children and understanding adults. This wealth will help the child confidently enter the world of adults.

A children's library is a special developmental environment for creative imagination, innovative thinking, for knowing oneself and others, cultivating feelings and aesthetic taste, focusing on discovering new things and passing on cultural heritage from generation to generation through books and dialogue.

A children's library is a place for free communication between a child and a book, and a place between a child and an adult. This is a feast for a child's mind and heart. This is free access to funds, documents, the opportunity to communicate, real and virtual. This is an environment in which the child feels comfortable, since the library adheres to the principle of providing information in a form that is safe for the reader.

A children's library is the foundation of the intellectual reserve of the future civilized society, which promotes self-discovery, self-knowledge, and self-expression of a child in all spheres of his life.

Our library differs from others in that...

NOT. Our library differs from others in that it appeared earlier than the city, by two whole years (we are 52 years old, the city is 50). It unites all the children of Novouralsk and has a unique fund on all types of media. We are actively introducing, along with traditional, proven forms of work, new ones based on digital technologies. Only in our library there is a library program “Long Live Creative Reading!”, distance literary trainings, author’s columns of librarians on the library website, a virtual recommendation bibliography, “Burchalka”: dialogue with teenagers, a newsletter that allows you to conduct a dialogue with colleagues, an information ring: website “Days of Military Glory of Russia”, talk show “Your Choice” (on career guidance), youth award in the field of literature “Orange”, “Literary Environments”, club “Portal”, creative association “Silver Feathers”, city intellectual competitions for individuals 2–11th grades and the annual bibliographic Olympiad. The library has a friendly, creative team that has been observing the world of the child reader for many years.

N.V. Our library is quite traditional in structure, composition of readers, and areas of activity in relation to other libraries of a similar type. Like every library, we have interesting developments (the library turns 40 years old in 2006). The most interesting of them in recent years is literary and local history activities. In 1995, a monument to the heroes of V. Kaverin’s novel “Two Captains” was opened in front of the library; the literary and patriotic club “Two Captains” has been operating since 1996 to this day. And in 2002, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of V.A. Kaverin, a unique museum was opened - the Museum of the novel “Two Captains”.

N.Ts. Our library differs from other libraries in that it grew up on the newspaper “First of September” and the “pedagogy of cooperation” by S. Soloveichik. Our librarians have always provided and continue to provide psychological and pedagogical support to their young readers, as well as to fellow librarians in their creative search for new methods of work. Supporting the initiative is the main characteristic of our library; for the last 15 years we have been trying to create a model for the emergence, promotion and support of any cultural initiative. The Lipetsk Regional Youth Library, being an information and methodological center for youth and youth educators in the region, considers one of its main tasks to be close cooperation with school libraries and libraries of secondary specialized educational institutions, organizing for them a permanent school for improving professional skills.

Administrative reforms. How do you see them and what do you think is the fate of children's libraries and ways of survival in their light?

NOT. We expect any administrative reforms with alarm because their result most often is “We wanted the best, but it turned out…” The authors of the reforms would like to remind us that children are today! They can't wait! All developed countries have realized that a reading child is the gene pool of a nation. You can't save money on children. We must convince the government to love children. The path to survival lies in a clear program that proves the need for children's libraries, in unity (solidarity), in creativity and the search for new forms of work and services, in developing a mechanism for protecting the rights of young readers.

N.V. Administrative reforms – we don’t just see them, we feel them! If we talk about Law 131, then, probably, without amendments (I suspect that there will be many), the unique Russian system of library services for children could be destroyed. What to do? Raise the public before it’s too late, because the structure of cultural institutions and education in settlements depends on them, on future deputies of settlement councils, on parents and teachers.

N.Ts. In our region and city, the problem of the existence of a network of children's libraries is currently extremely acute. The library community of the city and region is faced with the task of maintaining the maximum number of children's libraries and opening new ones. This requires interaction with the three branches of government on issues of library and information services, promoting the need for intellectual development of the younger generation through books and libraries. That is why we are alarmed to draw public attention to the fact that today citizens do not have the opportunity to represent and defend their library rights and freedoms at the level of big politics.

Is the school curriculum in the work of children's libraries a support in the work, a necessary evil, a brake on creativity, or...?

NOT. The school curriculum is not a support in work, not evil or a hindrance. This is a necessity that we have to put up with. Program literature, abstracts, essays... increase the number of readers, book distribution, and attendance. But a children's library has great opportunities to expand knowledge of the school curriculum and opportunities for self-education. For example, hold an evening “Eternal motives in the works of writers, poets, composers, artists” for high school students, a youth crossroads “They argue about these books” (D. Brown, V. Pelevin, E. Grishkovets, B. Akunin, etc.), a holiday reading pleasures “Funny books by funny writers” for little ones, an empathy lesson on the “We are together” series for teenagers.

There are specialized schools in the city: environmental, economic, with an aesthetic bias... And the library has programs “Ecology of the Soul”, “Novouralsk Eco-City”, “MHC for Kids”, “Cult Art”... Students of these schools constantly come to public events in library. The conversations “The Internet about choosing a profession” are in great demand among high school students of all schools, and among writers – “The Internet to help a wordsmith.”

Summer is approaching. Our regular visitors will be children from city school camps. The library has a “Smart Vacations” program, the events of which, and we now have the opportunity to conduct them in nature, are not only educational, but also exciting and entertaining, designed to ensure that children constantly come to the library after camp. For several years now, the library has been holding a campaign to invite primary school and kindergarten children to the library. Reader-activists dressed as forest dwellers, butterflies, dragonflies, and literary heroes come to classes at the end of the school year and introduce them to the summer program, its competitions and invite them to the library. The result is very good.

The library must go ahead of schools, constantly study the interests of readers (this is very important), look for new, entertaining, developing forms, and be necessary and in demand. The possibilities of a children's library, equipped with technical means, are versatile and unlimited. It can give complete information and the right to choose, without imposing anything on the reader. The library has its own plan, which is presented to the Department of Education, school administrations, and school librarians in April. Activities that are of interest to the Education Department are included annually in their work plan.

N.V. The school curriculum, the music school program, the club program, the television program - all this is the world in which the child lives, the algorithms of his life... You need to know them, you need to accompany the child during the period of his training, socialization, education, accompany him with a book. This is not evil, it is not a hindrance for the library. Support is possible, since our task is the development of the little person.

N.Ts. It is not the school curriculum, but the children's library that is the support for the school curriculum, thereby creating a wide information space for the further creative and intellectual development of the individual.

Children's and school libraries. What forms of cooperation can there be?
What do you think is more important in the relationships between libraries of different departments – cooperation or problems?

NOT. We have been cooperating with school libraries for many years and are quite close. We complement each other. We have different functions, but we are united by children who are readers and the desire to instill in a child the need for systematic reading. School librarians are not only frequent visitors to the library, they are our like-minded people. We even have a joint club called “Like-Minded People.” Together we prepare and hold city events: “Children’s and Youth Book Week”, quizzes on the works of celebratory writers, bibliographic Olympiad, reading competitions. School librarians help us eliminate reading debt and encourage reading enthusiasts to take part in our individual intellectual competitions. Librarians of our library, at the invitation of school librarians, attend general parent meetings with the topics “Exams without stress”, “First-grade children”, “New names in children's literature”. This year, the library, with the help of school libraries of schools 43 and 55, for the first time held a network library game “AtomNet” with readers of Ozersk on the Internet and by e-mail. Quarterly, the library hosts seminars where emerging problems are discussed, opinions are exchanged on regional, regional and Russian seminars, studies on new standards, reviews of new literature and periodicals.

Problems are most often created by people who do not know how to understand and listen to others, who put their ambitions above business.

N.V. What forms of cooperation can there be? COOPERATION! In everything!

It’s not the libraries of different departments that have problems, it’s the officials who have problems: sometimes one industry is a priority, sometimes another. And there is only one treasury. In general, it is necessary to create interdepartmental Councils; it is important, given a shortage of funds, to correctly determine the profiles of library acquisition, children's and school, and user profiles, and to wisely distribute resources, not only financial, but also intellectual.

N.Ts. The Lipetsk Regional Youth Library, being an information center for youth in the region, works closely with school libraries. As part of our joint activities, an information and consultation center has been opened on the basis of our library, where school librarians can receive qualified professional assistance and use the funds of our library to prepare and conduct their events. For school librarians of the city, once every two months, specialists from the Lipetsk Regional Youth Library conduct seminars, creative laboratories, trainings and business games. Thanks to our close cooperation, the city's three school libraries work on targeted programs developed with the help of our library staff. The opening of career guidance clubs on the basis of school libraries is another important fact of close cooperation between youth and school libraries in the city of Lipetsk.

Just recently, it seemed to us that our relationships with school libraries had more problems than common ground. This is probably partly our fault. But today we can confidently say that numerous examples of our close cooperation with school libraries are becoming one of the fundamental factors in all our activities. The closer to creativity, the easier the mutual understanding.

Some regions have experience of voluntary or forced merger of children's or school libraries. Is such a merger necessary? If yes, then on what basis?

NOT. My personal opinion: there is no need to merge or change anything at the moment. The eternal savings on children in our country will lead (especially in villages and small towns) to the fact that out of two libraries there will be one bad one. Many public children's libraries are located in small, unsuitable premises (and school ones even more so!). What happens if you add more textbooks?! Now school and public libraries are financed by different departments; if the children's library is transferred to the Ministry of Education, then the eternal problem of lack of money will lead to the fact that there will be only methodological literature and textbooks. Experiments must be carried out after calculating and thinking through everything. For example, in the summer schools are under renovation, school libraries do not serve children...

This means that we need to unite school libraries around public libraries and make them branches. The question is who will pay for the rent, electricity... It all comes down to financing. No, it’s better not to take risks for now, it’s easy to break everything, they’ve already broken so much... There’s only one way out for now: creative cooperation.

N.V. Uniting for the sake of unification is stupidity. Options are possible, and for various reasons (voluntary - and contrary to the opinion or desire of specialists). I don’t think that every small village or settlement will be able to completely preserve the infrastructure that exists now. There should be one principle, like doctors: do no harm to the user, maintain the principle of accessibility of funds and international standards.

N.Ts. We are inclined to argue that not unification, but rather close cooperation between children's and school libraries is the best way of providing informational influence on the comprehensive development of a child in modern conditions. The interaction and mutual assistance of like-minded people opens up a space of living culture for the child.

Do you personally find anything interesting for yourself in the methodological newspaper called “Library at School” and what, in your opinion, is missing?

NOT. Yes! Yes! Of course yes! A very good professional newspaper for beginning librarians and for experienced specialists. There is no didactic tone: “Do as we do!”, There is a real desire to talk about new, better experience not only here in Russia, but also abroad, to raise the problem and offer to solve it together. Very interesting material about role-playing games, the development of critical thinking, master classes, reviews of Internet resources on topics, reviews by Ksenia Moldavskaya, intelligent literary articles by Tatyana Rudishina, a calendar of round dates, competitions, materials about new technologies, efficiency and the opportunity for everyone to be heard and be printed. Thanks to the editors for their constant research and professionalism. In 2005, we subscribed to your newspaper in each of our branches and central libraries (7 copies). This is an indicator of its demand. I would like the newspaper to expand its scope and publish more material on working with teenagers and high school students and print more problematic and analytical materials on working with teenagers and youth and solving these problems at the level of leading libraries and the Ministry of Culture.

N.V. Yes, we find, and a lot! We propose to make the newspaper one of the publications whose pages will stop sounding, pleasing the ears of journalists: the country, they say, does not read! IS READING! And more! But it’s different. V.P. Chudinova correctly says: the structure of the reader’s information needs has changed, and this is simply a new phenomenon in the 21st century!

N.Ts. Our library has been a regular subscriber to the newspaper “Library at School” since its founding. It is in it that we find all those new and progressive ideas that help us develop our professionalism and close cooperation with school and other libraries of the city and region. It is not for nothing that our motto is the well-established phrase: “Only our readers are better than us.”

Thought as a gift

The origins of our crisis are not in poverty, but in inadequacy of the era. Ways of change in the library should be sought not in new technologies, but in changing our consciousness.

Nina Tsyganova, from a speech at the Crimean conference
