A distinctive feature of this file type is the use of variable bit rate encoding. Compared to other codecs, MusePack has a higher compression and decompression speed. Also, one cannot fail to note the high quality of MPC (MusePack) encoding at bitrates above 160 kbps. In this respect, MPC is superior to MP3, WMA, AAC or OGG. MPP files can come with the mpc or mp + extension.
