Prayers for Holy Communion

Prayers on Maundy Thursday

Maundy (Maundy) Thursday is a special Orthodox holiday of repentance and prayer. It is celebrated before Easter, that is, its date directly depends on the date of Easter Sunday. Maundy Thursday prayers are read on the night from Wednesday to Thursday, while you need to stand under running water, which will directly pour over your entire body. On Maundy Thursday, such water washes away everything that plagues the soul and body.

Maundy Thursday - signs, customs, conspiracies, prayers

Holy Week requires Christians to prepare especially carefully for the main holiday - Easter. Every day of Holy Week is special, but Maundy Thursday is considered one of the most important, since it is on this day that every housewife finishes cleaning the house, bakes Easter cakes for the holiday and paints eggs. On the remaining days before Easter, all this is not allowed. Maundy Thursday differs from other days of Holy Week by special customs and rituals that were used by our ancestors in ancient times.

What Maundy Thursday rituals are especially popular?

The first thing every person should start Maundy Thursday with is swimming before sunrise, thus, a person is cleansed of sins by washing them away with water.

To have a financially prosperous year, you need to count your money three times in the morning at lunchtime and at midnight.

There is also a belief that windows and doors throughout the house should be washed with water with coins thrown into it. After everything is washed, the coins are hidden away, and the water is poured under a tree that grows in the yard.

To protect yourself from the evil eye and damage on the morning of Maundy Thursday, you wash your face with water infused with silver.

Maundy Thursday - signs and customs

There will be a lot of signs on Maundy Thursday and every housewife knows about them firsthand:

  • before sunrise you need to swim while reading a prayer;
  • wash the entire house thoroughly;
  • make Thursday salt, which will help cure many diseases;
  • count money;
  • visit church to confess;
  • bake Easter cakes in a thoroughly cleaned kitchen and with a cleansed soul.

Such rituals have come to our days from ancient times, when our grandmothers observed them. Each of the rituals must be observed with precision and then until the next Maundy Thursday everything in the house and family will be in order. Maundy Thursday also prepared its own rituals for married girls to get married and find their soul mate this year.

Maundy Thursday - rituals and signs for unmarried girls

All signs on Maundy Thursday for young girls relate to beauty and personal happiness. Washing with water infused with silver promises not only health, but also beauty. If you visit a hairdresser on this day, your hair will not only grow quickly, but will also look beautiful and healthy. A girl who cannot get married for a long time on Maundy Thursday should wash and dry herself with a towel. On Easter, along with Easter cake and eggs, a towel should be given as alms. This ritual gave the girl a quick marriage.

There is also another ritual that promises a young girl a quick marriage - on the morning of Maundy Thursday you need to look out the window and if the girl sees a young guy there, then this year she will walk down the aisle.

Maundy Thursday - prayers

All rituals and customs of Maundy Thursday have special power, even prayers read on this day have special magical power, if, of course, they are read with faith and an open soul. There are many prayers, but on Maundy Thursday you need to read special ones that will help improve financial well-being, good health, family harmony and even marriage for young girls of marriageable age.

“Lord! Have mercy and save!

I come to You in prayer.

And forgive me for my sins

I beg you, Almighty.

Help me cleanse my soul

Me from my vain sins.

Save me, God, save me

From hopeless deeds and thoughts.

Give strength to your wounded soul

Rip off the slippers of sinful dirt,

Everything that is planned to be accomplished

Despite evil and the machinations of scum.

Save and have mercy on me, a sinner. Amen".

A prayer that cleanses the soul from evil and bad thoughts:

“As confession cleanses, as water removes dirt,

So you, Thursday, be clean,

Cleanse me from all evil,

From offending people, from disobedience,

From intemperance, from devilish blasphemy,

From bad rumors, from evil conversations, demonic disputes.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen".

A plot for girls to attract beauty and charm so that guys will look at you. You need to read it exactly on Maundy Thursday before the sun rises and when reading you need to bow on all 4 sides.

"I will stand, Servant of God (name),

I'll wipe myself with a girl's braid.

Be my white face

Whiter than white light,

Scarlet cheeks are redder

My eyebrows be

Blacker than black earth,

So that the guys are all

I don't mind saying

Take your eyes off me.

She was whiter and sweeter,

More desirable and beautiful.

My word is molded,

Key, lock, tongue.

Amen. Amen. Amen".

Maundy Thursday: what not to do at home?

You can do a lot on Maundy Thursday, but there are also restrictions that every believer should know about:

  • You cannot sit and listen to church services;
  • in order for peace and tranquility to always reign in the house, the candle that was lit in the church should burn all the way to the house and not go out;
  • before the church service you cannot drink, eat or do anything;
  • on Maundy Thursday nothing can be given from home;
  • Do not leave dirty dishes and soaked laundry;
  • You cannot start preparing dishes for the holiday table until the house is in complete order.

If you follow all the customs and signs, then until next Maundy Thursday everything will be fine in the house.

Useful tips, many thanks to you.

I agree with the previous comment, but only just.

  • What prayers should you read on Maundy Thursday?

Maundy Thursday is a time of complete cleansing of the soul, thoughts and body. Water for the body, prayer for the soul.

And they read prayers on the night from Wednesday to Thursday, standing under streams of running water, which washes the whole body (soul) from above.

    Read the following prayer:

    And when washing, say:

    Lord! Have mercy and save!

I come to You in prayer.

And forgive me for my sins

    I beg you, Almighty.

    Help me cleanse my soul

    Me from my vain sins.

Before sunrise, it is customary to collect water in containers. “Thursday water” is considered healing. It is used all year round for illnesses and ailments. You should also wash your face with this water in the morning on Easter Day.

    General cleaning on Maundy Thursday

There is a sure sign - if you do a spring cleaning on Maundy Thursday, you will receive a lot of joy for it.

In addition to the fact that the house will become clean, there is also such a religious element here that for six days after Maundy Thursday, religious people do not clean.

In addition, there is a popular belief that when you start a general cleaning of the house, you receive as a gift from the Lord the opportunity to find beloved and necessary items that seemed to be lost forever. And indeed it is. I myself have more than once had to find long-lost things during such cleaning, and in the most unexpected places.

They say that when added to the food and drink of a seriously and even terminally ill person, Thursday salt can help heal him.

The method for preparing Thursday salt is as follows: pour a pack of salt into a frying pan and fry it, stirring constantly, while reading the “Our Father.” You will feel the readiness of the salt yourself.

This ritual on Maundy Thursday is also useful because if the salt in the frying pan suddenly begins to crackle and shoot, this indicates that you have been damaged. Fry the salt until it stops making cracking sounds, and do not forget to constantly read the prayer.

The week before Easter for Orthodox Christians comes Maundy (Clean) Thursday. During services on this day, one of the most important gospel events is remembered: the Last Supper, at which Jesus Christ washed the feet of his disciples, thereby showing an example of brotherly love and humility. According to the Gospel, at the Last Supper, Jesus Christ established the rite of the Eucharist - Holy Communion. This rite is recognized by all Christians - Orthodox, Catholics, Lutherans - believers eat wine and bread, meaning by them the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. From Maundy Thursday until Sunday, in all Orthodox churches, church services are dedicated to memories of the earthly suffering of the Savior.

On Maundy Thursday, in addition to general cleaning, it is considered obligatory to take a swim. This symbolizes the cleansing of soul and body. Souls from not very good thoughts or actions, and bodies from ailments.

On Maundy Thursday, this day of repentance and prayer for every Orthodox person, there are many traditions that have come to us from ancient times. In particular, everyone knows that this is a day of purification, not only in the physical sense, but also in the spiritual. It is recommended to pay even more attention to spiritual cleansing, remember all your sins, and repent of them. Here is a traditional prayer that helps to repent of sins on this great day, Maundy Thursday, it always helps me a lot:

    PRAYERS ON HOLY THURSDAY.

    Prayers before confession and communion

Spiritual renewal is an important task of life for every Christian. As a rule, this is achieved through confession and Communion. With the help of confession, you can cleanse your soul and prepare to accept the Mysteries of Holy Scripture. During Communion, every believer is reunited with the Lord Jesus Christ. This means that he acquires all the benefits associated with Divine life and is filled with forces that will help him do good. Both Confession and Communion require special prayer preparation.

What prayers to read before confession and communion

Confession in its essence is repentance for committed voluntary or involuntary sins. The purpose of this ritual is to obtain remission of one's sins in order to gain eternal life after death in the Kingdom of God. The Holy Fathers consider confession to be the second baptism. This is due to the fact that during the baptismal ritual the child is cleansed of original sin, and in the process of confession, a believer is given the opportunity to be cleansed of the sins he has committed along the path of life.

In order for confession to be accepted and have a positive result, you must be aware of your sins and have a sincere desire to sincerely repent of them and not repeat your sins in the future. There must be a sincere faith in the mercy of God in the soul. You also need to believe that even the most serious sins will be forgiven by the Great Heavenly Lover of Mankind - Jesus Christ.

When a person prepares for confession or communion, he must strictly follow the morning and evening rules. The obligatory prayers included in it must be read in full. Preparation for Communion includes confession itself and fasting. Generally, the church requires that preparation be carried out over a period of 3-7 days.

Moreover, every day, in addition to morning and evening prayers, it is required to read one canon, among which must be:

    • Canon of repentance to our Lord Jesus Christ;
    • Canon of prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos;
    • Canon to the Guardian Angel.

During the period of preparation for confession and communion, attention should be paid to spiritual abstinence. You cannot attend any entertainment or social events during this period. It is important to spend as much time alone as possible. It should be devoted to reading the Holy Letter and thinking about your life. Before confession and Communion, it is necessary to strictly control one’s own actions and thoughts. For cleansing to be successful, you need to avoid quarrels and conflicts with people from your inner circle. And if you are in a quarrel with someone, then you need to make peace with this person as quickly as possible. At the same time, it is very important to remember that this should be done out of sincere motives, and not for show.

Immediately before the communion ritual, “Proceeding to Holy Communion” is read. It is also necessary to attend a church service on this day.

Orthodox prayers before communion and confession

Confession and Communion are among the sacraments of the Orthodox Church. In preparation for these rituals, special prayers should be offered that will help cleanse the soul from sins.

Repentant prayers before confession in church

Sincere prayers of repentance before communion and confession are considered especially important. It is these prayer texts, spoken with deep sincerity, that indicate that a person repents of his sins and is ready to ask the Lord for their forgiveness and cleansing of the soul.

Prayer one – text in Russian

A prayer of repentance in a temple may sound like this:

Another strong prayer of repentance that can be said in church sounds like this:

Prayer before communion to receive bread and wine (prosphora and holy water)

The prayer before communion to receive the bread and wine is very important. This contributes to the sanctification of the body and spirit of a believer. At this moment, a desire to do good arises and thoughts are illuminated towards sincere service to the Lord. Prayer protects a person from evil spirits and nothing bad can ever come close to him.

“Prosphora” means “offering” in Greek. This specially baked bread consists of two parts. They symbolize the earthly and heavenly world. Each part is baked separately. This is done in the temple and the Jesus Prayer is read during the baking process. Two separately baked parts are joined together. The upper part of the holy bread symbolizes the heavenly world; a seal is placed on it with the image of a four-pointed cross, on which there is the inscription XC or IC, which means Jesus Christ.

Every person who has submitted a note “On health” or “On repose” can order prosphora. After the end of the liturgy, small pieces of the antidora prosphora are taken out in the church. They need to be taken on palms folded in a cross, with the right hand placed on the left. You must kiss the hand of the church minister who brings the gift. Antidor should be eaten in church, washed down with holy water.

Having brought the prosphora home, it should be placed on a clean tablecloth next to the icons, and holy water should be placed next to it.

Before eating the prosphora, the following prayer is read:

Prosphora should be eaten over a clean white plate or over a sheet of paper. At the same time, it is very important that not a single crumb of heavenly bread falls on the floor. The prosphora only needs to be broken; it is strictly forbidden to cut it with a knife. It should also not be offered to unbaptized people.

Prosphora and holy water can be eaten in small pieces every day in the morning on an empty stomach. In this case, each time you need to pronounce the words of the above prayer.

Evening prayer before communion and confession at home

Prayer before communion and confession is a mandatory ritual for a person who strives to be cleansed of sins.

The prayer appeal in this case consists of three canons:

    • Repentant to our Lord;
    • Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary;
    • Canon to the Guardian Angel.

It is better to take all the listed prayers from the prayer book and say them in the version closest to the original source. This must be done with full concentration on your own thoughts. You can't be distracted by anything. These prayers are needed so that the Lord hears you and forgives all your sins after Communion. In addition, such prayers before the cleansing ritual allow a person to receive peace of mind.

In addition to the prayers listed, clergy recommend reading additionally the prayer of St. Basil the Great before Communion.

    Prayer before communion I believe

    PRAYERS BEFORE HOLY COMMUNION

PRAYERS BEFORE THE SAINT COMMUNION (read in the evening)

Through the prayers of the saints, our fathers, Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy on us. Amen.

Heavenly King, Comforter, Soul of truth, Who is everywhere and fulfills everything, Treasure of good things and Giver of life, come and dwell in us, and cleanse us from all filth, and save, O Good One, our souls.

Come, let us worship and fall down before Christ, our King God. (Bow)

Come, let us bow and fall down to Christ Himself, the King and our God. (Bow)

The Lord shepherds me and will deprive me of nothing. In a green place, there they settled me, on the calm water they raised me. Convert my soul, guide me on the paths of righteousness, for Your name’s sake. Even if I walk in the midst of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me: Your rod and Your club will comfort me. Thou hast prepared a table before me to resist those who suffer me; Thou hast anointed my head with oil, and Thy cup maketh me drunken, as if it were mighty. And Your mercy will marry me all the days of my life; and make me dwell in the house of the Lord for a long time.

The earth is the Lord's, and its fulfillment, the universe, and all who live on it. He founded food on the seas, and prepared food on the rivers. Who will ascend to the mountain of the Lord, or who will stand in His holy place? He is innocent in his hands and pure in heart, who does not take his soul in vain, and does not swear by his sincere flattery. This one will receive blessings from the Lord and alms from God his Savior. This is the generation of those who seek the Lord, who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Lift up your gates, O princes, and lift up the everlasting gates; and the King of Glory will come in. Who is this King of Glory? The Lord is strong and strong, the Lord is strong in battle. Lift up your gates, O princes, and lift up the everlasting gates; and the King of Glory will come in. Who is this King of Glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of Glory.

Having faith, they also exclaimed: I have greatly humbled myself. I died in my frenzy: every man is a lie. What shall I repay to the Lord for all that I have repaid? I will take the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord; I will offer my prayers to the Lord before all His people. The death of His saints is honorable before the Lord. O Lord, I am Thy servant, I am Thy servant, and the son of Thy handmaid; You have torn apart my bonds. I will devour a sacrifice of praise for you, and in the name of the Lord I will call. I will offer my prayers to the Lord before all His people, in the courts of the house of the Lord, in the midst of you, Jerusalem.

Despise my iniquities, O Lord, be born of a Virgin, and cleanse my heart, creating a temple to Your most pure Body and Blood, lower me from Your face, having great mercy without number.

When the glorious disciple is enlightened at the thought of the supper, then the evil Judas, sickened by the love of money, becomes darkened, and betrays Your righteous Judge to the lawless judges. See, the steward of the property, who used strangulation for these sakes: flee the unsatiated soul, such a daring Teacher. O good Lord of all, glory to Thee.

CANON FOR HOLY COMMUNION (Tone 2)

Irmos: Come, people, let us sing a song to Christ God, who divided the sea, and taught the people, even as he learned from the work of Egypt, for he was glorified.

Irmos: Having established me on the rock of faith, you have enlarged my mouth against my enemies. For my spirit is glad, always singing: none is holy like our God, and none is righteous more than Thee, O Lord.

Irmos: You came from the Virgin, not an intercessor, nor an Angel, but Himself, Lord, incarnate, and you saved me as a whole man. Thus I call to Thee: glory to Thy power, O Lord.

Irmos: Light to the Giver and Creator of ages, O Lord, instruct us in the light of Your commandments: do we know no other god to You?

Irmos: Lying in the abyss of sin, I call upon the abyss of Thy unfathomable mercy: from aphids, O God, lift me up.

Bread, O Christ, do not despise me, take Thy Body, and now Thy Divine Blood, most pure, O Lord, and partake of Thy terrible Mysteries, let the accursed partake: let it not be for me in judgment, let it be for me in the eternal and immortal life.

Irmos: The wise children did not serve the golden body, and they themselves went into the flames, and cursed their gods, and cried out in the midst of the flames, and I sprinkled the angel: the prayer of your lips has already been heard.

Irmos: Who descended into the fiery furnace of the Jewish youth, and who turned God into the dew, sing the works of the Lord, and exalt them unto all ages.

Irmos: The Son, God and Lord, who is without beginning, appeared to us incarnate from the Virgin, who was darkened to enlighten, who was squandered by his fellow-creatures: with this we magnify the all-sung Mother of God.

Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us. (Thrice)

Most Holy Trinity, have mercy on us; Lord, cleanse our sins; Master, forgive our iniquities; Holy One, visit and heal our infirmities, for Thy name's sake.

Our Father, who art in heaven! Hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, as it is in heaven and on earth. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, just as we forgive our debtors; and do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

PRAYERS BEFORE HOLY COMMUNION (read in the morning) .

Master Lord Jesus Christ our God, the Source of life and immortality, of all creation, visible and invisible, and Creator, of the beginningless Father, co-eternal with the Son and co-originating, for the sake of much goodness in the last days he clothed himself in flesh, and was crucified, and was buried for us, ungrateful and evil-willed, and in Your Blood renewing our nature corrupted by sin; You, Immortal King, accept my sinful repentance, and incline Your ear to me, and hear my words. For I have sinned, O Lord, I have sinned in heaven and before You, and I am not worthy to look upon the height of Your glory: for I have angered Your goodness. Having transgressed Your commandments and disobeyed Your commands. But You, Lord, are kind, long-suffering and abundantly merciful, and did not give me up to perish with my iniquities, waiting for my conversion in every possible way. Thou art, O Lover of mankind, Thy prophet: for by will I do not want the death of a sinner, but the hedgehog will turn and live to be him. You do not want, Master, to destroy your creation by hand, and you are less than pleased with the destruction of mankind, but you want to save everyone and come into the mind of truth. Likewise, I, even though I am unworthy of heaven and earth, and sow temporary life, having submitted everything to myself to sin, and enslaved myself through lust, and desecrated Your image: but I have become Your creation and creation, I do not despair of my salvation, cursed, but daring in Your immeasurable compassion , I'm coming. Accept me, O Lord, who loves mankind, as a harlot, as a thief, as a publican, and as a prodigal, and take away my heavy burden of sins, take away the sin of the world, and heal the infirmities of man, call those who labor and are burdened to Yourself and give rest to those who did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. And cleanse me from all defilement of the flesh and spirit, and teach me to perform holiness in Thy Passion: for by the pure knowledge of my conscience, having received part of Thy holy things, I may unite with Thy holy Body and Blood, and have You living and abiding in me, with the Father, and Your Holy Spirit. To her, Lord Jesus Christ, my God, may the communion of Thy most pure and life-giving Mysteries not be in judgment for me, nor may I be weak in soul and body, so that I am not worthy to receive communion, but grant me, even until my final breath, to accept without condemnation part of Thy holy things, in communion with the Holy Spirit, in the path of eternal life, and in a favorable answer at Thy Last Judgment: for I, too, with all Thy chosen ones, will be a partaker of Thy incorruptible blessings, which Thou hast prepared for those who love Thee, O Lord: in which Thou art glorified in eyelids. Amen.

Lord my God, in knowing that I am not worthy, I am pleased below, and you have brought the temple of my soul under the roof, all empty and fallen, and you have no place in me worthy of bowing your head: but as from on high you humbled us for your own sake, humble yourself now to my humility. And just as you received it in the den and in the wordless manger, reclining, take it in the wordless manger of my soul, and bring it into my defiled body. And just as you did not fail to bring in and shine a light on the sinners in the house of Simon the leper, so deign to bring into the house of my humble soul, lepers and sinners. And just as you did not reject a harlot and a sinner like me, who came and touched You, have mercy on me, a sinner, who comes and touches You. And just as you did not abhor her foul and unclean lips kissing You, below mine, abhor those defiled and unclean lips, below my vile and unclean lips, and my foul and unclean tongue. But may the coal of Your most holy Body, and Your honorable Blood, be for me, for the sanctification and enlightenment and health of my humble soul and body, for the relief of the burdens of many of my sins, for the protection from every devilish action, for the driving away and prohibition of my evil and evil customs, for the mortification of passions, for the supply of Thy commandments, for the application of Thy Divine grace, and the appropriation of Thy Kingdom. It is not because I come to You, O Christ our God, that I despise You, but because I dare you in Your ineffable goodness, and let me not withdraw from Your fellowship in the depths, I will be hunted down by the mental wolf. In the same way, I pray to You: as the only Holy One, Master, sanctify my soul and body, mind and heart, womb and womb, and renew all of me, and root Your fear in my hearts, and create Your sanctification inseparably from me; and be my helper and intercessor, feeding my belly in the world, making me worthy to stand at Your right hand with Your saints, the prayers and supplications of Your Most Pure Mother, Your immaterial servants and the Most Pure Powers, and all the saints who have pleased You from the ages. Amen

One pure and imperishable Lord, for the ineffable mercy of our love for mankind, we have received all the mixture, from pure and virgin blood, more than the nature of You, who gave birth to You, the Divine Spirit by the invasion, and the good will of the ever-present Father, Christ Jesus, the wisdom of God, and peace, and power, through Your perception life-giving and saving suffering perceived, cross, nails, spear, death, mortify my soul-suffocating bodily passions. By Your burial of the hellish kingdoms, bury my good thoughts, evil advice, and destroy the spirits of wickedness. By Thy three-day and life-giving resurrection of the fallen forefather, raise me up in the sin that crawled, offering me images of repentance. By Thy glorious ascension, the carnal perception of God, and honor this on the right hand of the Father, grant me the gift of receiving the communion of Thy holy Mysteries on the right hand of those who are being saved. By bringing forth the Comforter of Thy Spirit, Thy disciples have made honorable sacred vessels, friend and show me That coming. Although you would like to come again to judge the universe with righteousness, deign to seat You on the clouds, my Judge and Creator, with all Your saints: may I endlessly glorify and sing Your praises, with Your beginningless Father, and Your Most Holy and Good and Life-giving Spirit, now and ever, and forever and ever. Amen.

Master Lord Jesus Christ, our God, who alone have the power to forgive man’s sins, for as he is good and a lover of mankind, I have despised all sins in knowledge and not in knowledge, and grant me without condemnation to partake of Thy Divine, and glorious, and most pure, and life-giving Mysteries, not in heaviness, neither torment, nor to the addition of sins, but to cleansing, and sanctification, and the betrothal of the future Life and kingdom, to the wall and help, and to the objection of those who resist, to the destruction of many of my sins. For You are the God of mercy, and generosity, and love for mankind, and we send up glory to You, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and to the ages of ages. Amen.

We know, Lord, that I unworthily partake of Thy most pure Body and Thy honorable Blood, and I am guilty, and I condemn myself to pit and drink, without judging the Body and Blood of Thy Christ and my God; but in response to Your bounties, I boldly come to You, who said: He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. Have mercy, O Lord, and do not expose me, a sinner, but do with me according to Your mercy; and may this saint be mine for healing, and purification, and enlightenment, and preservation, and salvation, and for the sanctification of soul and body; to drive away every dream, and evil deed, and the action of the devil, mentally acting in my deeds, into boldness and love, even towards You; for the correction of life and affirmation, for the return of virtue and perfection; in fulfillment of the commandments, in communion with the Holy Spirit, in the guidance of the eternal life, in response to a favorable response at Thy Last Judgment: not in judgment or condemnation.

God, weaken, forsake, forgive me my sins, those who have sinned, whether in word, whether in deed, whether in thought, will or involuntarily, by reason or foolishness, forgive me all, as you are good and a lover of mankind, and through the prayers of Your Most Pure Mother, your intelligent servants and Holy powers, and all the saints from the ages who have pleased You, without condemnation, deign to accept Your holy and most pure Body and venerable Blood, for the healing of soul and body, and for the cleansing of my evil thoughts. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

I am not pleased, Master Lord, that you may come under the roof of my soul; But since You, as a Lover of Mankind, want to live in me, I boldly approach: You command that I will open the doors that You alone created, and come in with love for mankind, as You are, see and enlighten my darkened thoughts. I believe that You have done this: You did not drive away the harlot who came to You with tears; You have rejected below the publican, having repented; below the thief, having come to know Your kingdom, You drove away; Thou hast left the repentant lower than the persecutor; but from repentance Thou hast brought all who have come to Thee, in the person of Thy friends Thou hast made the One blessed, always, now and unto endless ages. Amen.

Lord Jesus Christ my God, weaken, forgive, cleanse and forgive my sinful, and indecent, and unworthy servant, my sins, and transgressions, and my fall from grace, from my youth, even to this day and hour, those who have sinned: if in mind and in foolishness, or in words or deeds, or thoughts and thoughts, and undertakings, and all my feelings. And through the prayers of the seedless One who gave birth to Thee, the Most Pure and Ever-Virgin Mary, Thy Mother, the only shameless hope and intercession and salvation of mine, grant me to uncondemnedly partake of Thy most pure, immortal, life-giving and terrible Mysteries, for the remission of sins and for eternal life: for sanctification and enlightenment , strength, healing, and health of soul and body, and in the consumption and complete destruction of my evil thoughts, and thoughts, and enterprises, and nightly dreams, dark and crafty spirits; For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, and the honor, and the worship, with the Father and Thy Holy Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.

Prayer of St. John of Damascus, 10th

I stand before the doors of Your temple, and I do not retreat from cruel thoughts: but You, Christ God, have justified the publican, and had mercy on the Canaanites, and opened the doors of paradise to the thief, open to me the womb of Your love for mankind, and accept me, coming and touching You, like a harlot and a bleeding woman. : ova, having touched the hem of your robe, conveniently received healing: ova, your most pure ones, held your nose, and bore the remission of sins. But I, the accursed one, dare to perceive Your whole Body, so that I will not be scorched; but accept me as you do, and enlighten my spiritual feelings, burning away my sinful guilt, with the prayers of You who gave birth without seed, and of the Heavenly powers: for blessed are You forever and ever. Amen.

    Prayer of St. John Chrysostom

I believe, Lord, and confess that You are truly the Christ, the Son of the living God, who came into the world to save sinners, from whom I am the first. I also believe that this is Your most pure Body, and this is Your most pure Blood. I pray to You: have mercy on me, and forgive me my sins, voluntary and involuntary, in word, in deed, in knowledge and ignorance, and grant me, without condemnation, to partake of Your most pure Sacraments, for the remission of sins and eternal life. Amen.

When you begin communion, say to yourself the following verses of Symeon Metaphrastus:

Here I begin to receive Divine Communion.

Co-creator, do not scorch me with communion:

You are fire, unworthy of scorching.

But cleanse me from all filth.

It is in vain, O man, that you should be horrified by the worshiping Blood:

There is fire, you unworthy ones burn.

The Divine Body both adores and nourishes me:

She loves the spirit, but she feeds the mind strangely.

You have sweetened me with love, O Christ, and you have changed me with Your Divine care; but my sins fell into immaterial fire, and I am vouchsafed to be filled with pleasure in You: let me rejoice, O Blessed One, magnify Your two comings.

In the light of Thy Saints, what is there who is unworthy? Even if I dare to go into the palace, my clothes will expose me as not being for marriage, and I will be cast out from the Angels, bound and bound. Cleanse, Lord, the filth of my soul, and save me, as a Lover of Mankind.

O Master, Lover of Mankind, Lord Jesus Christ my God, let this Holy One not be brought into judgment against me, because I am unworthy of being: but for the purification and sanctification of soul and body, and for the betrothal of the future life and kingdom. It is good for me, if I cleave to God, to place the hope of my salvation in the Lord.

Thy secret supper this day, O Son of God, receive me as a partaker: I will not tell the secret to Thy enemies, neither will I give Thee a kiss like Judas, but like a thief I will confess Thee: remember me, O Lord, in Thy Kingdom.

Complete collection and description: the priest’s prayer before communion, I believe in the Lord for the spiritual life of a believer.

When the Priest brings out the Chalice for Communion and says: “Approach with the fear of God and faith,” then to the Orthodox Christian in obligatory ok need to do THREE BOWING TO THE EARTH. The Holy Pleasants of God warned: Terrible Blasphemy, before Communion of the Holy Mysteries of Christ don’t make three prostrations!”

Then, together with the Priest, read the prayer of St. John Chrysostom before receiving the Body and Blood of Christ:

I believe, Lord, and I confess that You are truly the Christ, the Son of the Living God, who came into the world to save sinners, from whom I am the first. I also believe that this is Your Most Pure Body, and this very thing is Your Honest Blood. I pray to You: have mercy on me, and forgive me my sins, voluntary and involuntary, in words, in deeds, in knowledge and ignorance; and grant me to uncondemnably partake of Your Most Pure Mysteries, for the remission of sins and into Eternal Life. Amen.

Thy secret supper this day, O Son of God, receive me as a partaker; I will not tell your enemies the secret, nor will I give you a kiss like Judas, but like a thief I will confess to you: remember me, Lord, in your kingdom. Amen.

After that, fold your arms crosswise on your chest (the left hand lies on the chest, the right hand lies on top of the left) and approach Communion. While you stand to receive Communion, read the following prayers to yourself (use whichever one you like the most, the main thing is that it is from the heart):

Behold, I approach Divine Communion, O Master, and do not scorch me with communion; For you are a fire unworthy to burn. But cleanse me from all filth.
Man should be horrified in vain at the idolizing Blood; Fire is an unworthy thing to burn. The Divine Body both adores me and nourishes me; loves the spirit, but feeds the mind strangely.
You have sweetened me with the Love of Christ, and you have changed me with Your Divine Care; but my sins were caught in the Immaterial Fire, and I can also be satisfied with the pleasures of You; Yes, I exultingly magnify the Good One, Thy two Comings.
In the Light of Thy Saints, how is there one unworthy below? If I dare to go into the palace, my clothes will convict me of not being married, and I will be bound and cast out from the angels; Lord, cleanse the filth of my soul, and save me, as a Lover of Man.
Lord Jesus Christ, my Lord, who loves mankind, let this Holy One not be brought into judgment for me, because I am unworthy to be; but for the purification and sanctification of the soul and body, and for the betrothal of the Future Life and the Kingdom. Amen.
It is good for me to cleave to God, for it is good to place my hope in the Lord for my salvation.

If you cannot remember these prayers, then you can read the publican’s prayer to yourself:

God, be merciful to me, a sinner!

If you are overwhelmed by lack of faith before Communion, you need to silently read the prayer of St. Thomas the Apostle (John 20:28):

    My Lord and my God!

If you do not feel Holy Reverence (Fear of God) within yourself, then you can repeat to yourself the words from the prayer of the Holy. Basil the Great:

Lord, teach me to perform holiness in Thy Passion!

In light of the often heated debates around the most ancient symbol of Russian National Culture - Gammamatic Cross (Yarga-Swastika) Our website contains an extensive selection of material on this issue: For information on the Russian Cross of the Resurrection of Russia, see collection about Swastika.

You and I remember that the Lord God indicated to Emperor Constantine the Great that with the cross he would win. Let us pay attention to the fact that only with Christ and precisely with the Cross The Russian People will defeat all their enemies and finally throw off the hated Jewish yoke! But the Cross with which the Russian People will win is not simple, but, as usual, golden, but for the time being it is hidden from many Russian Patriots under the rubble of lies and slander. In news reports made from books Kuznetsov V.P. “The history of the development of the shape of the cross”. M. 1997; Kutenkova P.I. “Yarga-swastika is a sign of Russian folk culture” St. Petersburg 2008; Bagdasarov R. “The Mysticism of the Fiery Cross” M. 2005, tells about the place in the culture of the Russian People of the most blessed cross - the swastika. The swastika cross has one of the most perfect forms and contains in graphic form the entire mystical secret of God's Providence and the entire dogmatic completeness of Church teaching!

Moreover, if we remember that The Russian People are the third Chosen People of God(The Third Rome is Moscow, the Fourth will not happen; what the swastika is a graphic image And the whole mystical mystery of God's Providence, And the entire dogmatic completeness of Church teaching, then a completely unambiguous conclusion arises - Russian people under the sovereign hand already soon to come Victorious Tsar from the Royal House of Romanov ( They swore to the House of Romanov To God in 1613 to be faithful until the end of time ) will defeat all his enemies under the banners on which the swastika (gammatical cross) will flutter under the face of the Savior Not Made by Hands! In the State Emblem, the swastika will also be placed on a large crown, which symbolizes the power of the Anointed Tsar both in the earthly Church of Christ and in the Kingdom of God’s Chosen Russian People.

On our website you can download and read the wonderful work of the general and writer Pyotr Nikolaevich Krasnov “ Wreath for the grave of the unknown soldier of the Imperial Russian Army”, which is an unfading wreath to the valiant soldiers and officers of the Russian Imperial Army, who laid down their lives for the Faith, the Tsar and the Fatherland. After reading this book, you will learn why the Russian Imperial Army was stronger than all the armies of the world and you will understand who General Pyotr Nikolaevich Krasnov is. A warrior of the Russian Army, a Russian Patriot, an Orthodox Christian will deprive themselves of a lot if they do not find time to read this very blessed book.

Multatuli P.V. Witnessing for Christ to death. St. Petersburg, 2006, Price in D/K Krupskaya 350 rub.

A unique book in which a specialist investigator being an Orthodox person, clearly through the prayers of the holy Tsar-Redeemer Nicholas II and the New Martyr John, the Tsar’s faithful servant - cook I.M. Kharitonov, who died along with Tsar Nicholas II and His Family in the basement of the house of engineer Ipatiev, was able to show the ritual nature of the murder of the Anointed King by the servants of Satan.

The attempts of the Russian people to understand what happened to the Royal Family in Yekaterinburg on the night of July 17-18, 1918 have not stopped and will never stop. The truth is needed not only to restore historical reality, but also to understand the spiritual essence of the martyrdom of the Emperor and his Family. We do not know what they experienced - the Lord judged them to languish for more than a year under arrest, in prison, in complete obscurity, in an atmosphere of hatred and misunderstanding, with the burden of responsibility on their shoulders - for the fate of the Motherland and loved ones. But, having endured what was allowed, accepting everything from the hands of God, they found humility, meekness and love - the only thing that a person can bring to the Lord and, most importantly, what pleases Him. The work of Pyotr Valentinovich Multatuli, a historian, great-grandson of one of the Tsar’s faithful servants, Ivan Mikhailovich Kharitonov, is unusual. This is not a scientific monograph, but detailed, scrupulous investigation of the Yekaterinburg crime. The author's goal is, if possible, to get closer to the spiritual understanding of what happened in the Ipatiev House. The work uses materials from the archives of Russia and France. Many documents are published for the first time

    Prayer at the Liturgy

    Part five

About the Divine Services of the Orthodox Church

Prayer at the Liturgy before Holy Communion

I believe, Lord, and confess that You are truly the Christ, the Son of the living God, who came into the world to save sinners, and I am the first (or the first) from them.

I believe, Lord, I openly admit, I declare that You are truly the Christ, who came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the first, that is, the greatest. I also believe that this is Your most pure Body, and this very thing is Your honorable Blood. Therefore, I pray to You: have mercy on me, and forgive me the sins committed of my own free will, and those committed against my desire, which I did in word or deed, knowing or not knowing that it was sinful. And deign me to partake of Your most pure Mysteries with impunity, for the forgiveness of sins and for receiving eternal life.

Thy secret supper this day, O Son of God, receive me as a partaker: I will not tell the secret to Thy enemies, neither will I give Thee a kiss like Judas, but like a thief I will confess Thee: remember me, O Lord, in Thy kingdom.

Son of God, make me today a participant (participant) of Your Last Supper: I will not reveal the secret to Your enemies, and I will not give You such a kiss as Judas, but like the thief (who repented on the cross) I believe in You and say to You: remember me, Lord , in Your Kingdom.

May the communion of Thy Holy Mysteries be not for judgment or condemnation for me, Lord, but for the healing of soul and body.

God! Let the communion of Your Holy Mysteries be for me not as a condemnation or punishment, but as a healing of soul and body.

I confess - I openly admit and declare to everyone; from them- of which; az- I; sorry- That's why; conducting– knowledge; ignorance– ignorance; vouchsafe- honor; uncondemned- without condemning me for this - with impunity; abandonment– forgiveness.

Supper - dinner; last supper- that supper at which Jesus Christ established the sacrament of Communion; accept me as a communicant– make me a participant; bo- because; let's tell- I’ll open it and tell you; kisses- kissing, kissing; remember me- remember me.

    Come with faith and love

After the clergy has partaken of the Holy Mysteries, the believers are called to the Lord's Table: “Approach with the fear of God and faith!”

Believers come and, together with the bishop or priest who administers communion, read the prayer:

I believe, Lord, and confess that You are truly the Christ, the Son of the living God, who came into the world to save sinners, from whom I am the first.

I also believe that this very thing is Your Most Pure Body, and This is Your Most Honest Blood. I pray to You: have mercy on me and forgive me my sins, voluntary and involuntary, in word, in deed, in knowledge and ignorance, and grant me, without condemnation, to partake of Your most pure Sacraments, for the remission of sins and eternal life.

Thy secret supper is today. Son of God, accept me as a partaker, for I will not tell the secret to Thy enemies, nor will I kiss Thee like Judas, but like a thief I will confess Thee: remember me. Lord, in Your Kingdom.

May the communion of Your holy Mysteries be not for judgment or condemnation for me, Lord, but for the healing of soul and body.

Then everyone bows to the ground and stands up, saying to themselves: “Behold, I come to the immortal King and our God.” In front of the holy chalice, everyone says his name so that the priest can hear it. The priest says: “The servant of God (name) partakes of the honorable and holy Body and Blood of our Lord and God and Savior Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of his sins and for eternal life.”

Having received communion, everyone kisses the edge of the cup, as if the pierced side of Christ, from which blood and water flowed (John 19:34). After this, a little wine diluted with water and a piece of prosphora are taken, which are on a separate table. This is not always possible when there are a lot of participants.

After communion on that day, they no longer kneel, since the word of God has come true: “He who eats My Flesh and drinks My Blood abides in Me, and I in him” (John 6:56).

After everyone has received communion, the priest blesses the people, proclaiming: “Save, O God, Thy people and bless Thy inheritance.”

And as if comprehending what the present people of God experienced for their salvation, it is sung:

We have seen the true light, we have received the heavenly Spirit, we have found true faith, we worship the indivisible Trinity, for it has saved us.

When the Holy Gifts, when they are transferred from the throne, are brought out before the people, the words of the priest are heard: “Blessed is our God always, now and ever and unto ages of ages.”

With these words begins the last part of the Liturgy, thanksgiving for participation in the Mysteries of God. Continuing the priest’s exclamation of thanks, the congregation sings:

May our lips be filled with Thy praise, O Lord, for we sing Thy glory, for Thou hast made us worthy to partake of Thy holy, divine, immortal and life-giving mysteries.

This chant ends with the petition:

Keep us in Thy holiness, and learn Thy righteousness all day long. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.

The litany of thanksgiving that follows the song ends with a doxology of the same content: “For You are our sanctification, and we send up glory to You. Father and Son and Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages.”

“Bless those who bless Thee, O Lord, and sanctify those who trust in Thee; save Thy people and bless Thy inheritance. “

Blessing of the Lord, etc. the dismissal, in which the names of the saints and saints of that day close to our Church are remembered, concludes the Liturgy. Believers go to bow to the cross, which the priest holds in his hand, giving them to kiss this symbol of our redemption.

Thus, believers, having taken part in the Holy Eucharist, bring holiness to their families and throughout their lives repeat the prayer to themselves: “Keep us in Your holiness, let us learn Your righteousness all day long. Hallelujah".

Thus life continues from Eucharist to Eucharist, striving for “a perfect man, the measure of the full stature of Christ” until “we see Him face to face.” (Eph.4:13, 1Cor.13:12). O great and most sacred Easter in Christ! About wisdom, and the Word of God, and Power! Grant us the opportunity to partake of Thee more fully, in the unfading days of Thy kingdom.

Correct our path, establish us all in Thy passion, guard our belly, strengthen our feet, with the prayers and supplications of the glorious Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary and all Thy saints.

Approach with the fear of God and faith.

People: Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, God is the Lord and he has appeared to us.

I believe, Lord, and confess that You are truly the Christ, the Son of the Living God, who came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the first. I also believe that This is Your Most Pure Body and This is Your Most Honest Blood. I pray to You: have mercy on me and forgive me my sins, voluntary and involuntary, in word, in deed, in knowledge and ignorance, and grant me, without condemnation, to partake of Your Most Pure Mysteries for the remission of sins and eternal life. Amen.

Thy secret supper this day, Son of God, receive me as a partaker, for I will not tell the secret to Thy enemies, neither will I give Thee a kiss like Judas, but like a thief I will confess Thee: remember me, O Lord, in Thy Kingdom. May the communion of Thy Holy Mysteries be not for judgment or condemnation for me, Lord, but for the healing of soul and body.

People: Receive the Body of Christ, taste the immortal source.

The servant of God (name) partakes of the honorable and holy Body and Blood of our Lord and God and Savior Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins and eternal life.

    Prayer at the Liturgy

    Part five

About the Divine Services of the Orthodox Church

I believe, Lord, and confess that You are truly the Christ, the Son of the living God, who came into the world to save sinners, and I am the first (or the first) from them.

Thy secret supper this day, O Son of God, receive me as a partaker: I will not tell the secret to Thy enemies, neither will I give Thee a kiss like Judas, but like a thief I will confess Thee: remember me, O Lord, in Thy kingdom.

May the communion of Thy Holy Mysteries be not for judgment or condemnation for me, Lord, but for the healing of soul and body.

I confess - I openly admit and declare to everyone; from them- of which; az- I; sorry- That's why; conducting– knowledge; ignorance– ignorance; vouchsafe- honor; uncondemned abandonment– forgiveness.

Supper - dinner; last supper accept me as a communicant– make me a participant; bo- because; let's tell- I’ll open it and tell you; kisses- kissing, kissing; remember me- remember me.

On Thursday of Passion Week, during the last meal with the apostles, Christ instituted the Sacrament of Holy Communion. The Son of God treated the table diners with bread and wine. They symbolized the flesh and blood of Christ, his sacrifice in the name of all sinners living on earth. This food soon turned into the basis for the church sacrament of Communion.

During the Divine Liturgy, believers pronounce speeches of repentance and petition to the Lord. The prayer of Your Last Supper before communion has been traditional for the ritual since time immemorial. This chant helps to cleanse the soul and gain repentance, which is so necessary for a Christian to perform the sacrament of Communion.

How does the prayer of Your Last Supper help?

An Orthodox Christian must remember that the Heavenly Father is the protection and support in the life of any layman. There is no need to be shy to ask the Lord, for He is merciful and righteous. The Prayer of Your Secret Supper is read in the following cases:

    • In sorrows and sorrows. Gives you the opportunity to talk to God about life's difficulties.
    • In an effort to be cleansed from the Fall and receive the Lord's forgiveness.
    • In the kitchen or dining room before eating. Blesses for preparing and eating food. Expresses gratitude to the Lord for the opportunity to eat food.

    When and how to pray

On Maundy Thursday, during the Liturgy, when participating in the church sacrament of communion, you need to read the prayer of Your Last Supper.

While singing the prayer before communion, it is important to feel peace and drive away any bad thoughts. According to Orthodox canons, man came into the world for kindness and love for his neighbor.

When reciting the text of the prayer of Your Last Supper, you need to remember the slaughter of the Son of God, his torment and the miracle of resurrection

At the same time, one should strive with all one’s soul to merge with the image of Christ.

It will not be superfluous to say prayer every day, for it bestows the fruits of God’s mercy. Namely:

    • Blesses food and can therefore be used every time before a meal.
    • Gives steadfastness to the spirit of humility and confirms the believer in repentance.

    Prayer text

I believe, Lord, and confess that You are truly the Christ, the Son of the Living God, who came into the world to save sinners, from whom I am the first. I also believe that this is Your most pure Body, and this is Your most pure Blood. I pray to you: have mercy on me and forgive me my sins, voluntary and involuntary, in word, in deed, in knowledge and ignorance, and grant me, without condemnation, to partake of Your most pure Sacraments, for the remission of sins and eternal life.

Thy Mystery Supper is this day, O Son of God, accept me as a partaker: I will not tell the secret to Thy enemies, nor will I kiss Thee like Judas, but like a thief I will confess Thee: remember me, O Lord, in Thy kingdom.

May it not be for judgment or condemnation that I receive the communion of Thy Holy Mysteries, O Lord, but for the healing of soul and body. Amen.

Translation of the text of the prayer into Russian

I believe, Lord, I openly admit, I declare that You are truly the Christ, who came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the first, that is, the greatest. I also believe that this is Your most pure Body, and this very thing is Your honorable Blood. Therefore, I pray to you: have mercy on me and forgive me the sins done of my own free will and against my desire, which I did in word or deed, knowing or not knowing that it was sinful. Grant me the honor of partaking of Your most pure Sacraments with impunity, for the forgiveness of sins and receiving eternal life.

Son of God, make me a participant (participant) of Your Last Supper: I will not reveal the secret to Your enemies, and I will not give You such a kiss as Judas, but like the thief (who repented on the cross) I believe in You and say to You: remember me, Lord, in your kingdom.

God! May the communion of Your Holy Mysteries be for me not a condemnation or punishment, but a healing of soul and body. Amen.
